Derek the devious 🤣 Meet Derek, a young adult male (approximately 1.5 years old) fawn pug. He has 2 resting faces: pouty or laughing. He is very loving, dog, cat, & all ages/sizes of humans friendly- true to his breed. Derek does not let architectural boundaries come between him & what he desires, be it the kitty kibble that was (🙄safely) secured behind three separate 3-4 ft baby gates, or the recycling that had been sitting on the far recessed of the kitchen countertop. He uses amazing “sproing” & scramble abilities to reach his desired destination. Housebreaking is a work in progress, having been introduced to him when he was trapped & taken in as a stray right before Christmas. Pugs can be notoriously stubborn, but they do desire to please, so he is about 75% of the way there. Do you have room for this sweet, spunky guy in your home & life? Henry came to us after fathering his last litter (don’t worry—mama and babies are safe with us and doing great, and Henry is now scheduled to be neutered so his puppy-making days are officially behind him!). Meet Ringo: The Goofy Gentleman from Tijuana with a Heart of Gold Born around December 21, 2022, Ringo made the journey from Tijuana, Mexico to find his forever home—and he’s brought a whole lot of love (and zoomies) with him. This active, affectionate pup treats every walk like an adventure and every treat like buried treasure. He hasn’t quite mastered toys yet but throw a ball and he’ll chase it like it’s on his personal most-wanted list. Ringo is food motivated—he’d probably learn to do your taxes if you paid him in cheese. His leash manners and housetraining are still works in progress, especially when adjusting to a new space, but with consistency and patience, he quickly learns the ropes and settles in like a true gentleman. He’s working on crate training and does well when he thinks he’s flying solo—he’s still learning that crates can be cozy, not lonely. Ringo adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and greets every human like a long-lost friend. He’s a dream in the car, a snuggle pro on the couch, and would thrive as a social butterfly at the dog park. Curious about cats, Ringo sometimes gets a little too interested in their mysterious ways, but he’s easily redirected and learns quickly what’s off-limits. He successfully lives with 3 cats in his foster home. History: Churro is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Churro is just what his name implies — a sweet treat of a pup. If you’re looking for someone to snuggle, he’s your dude!! Churro is doing great with his foster family. He adores his foster brother and sister (both English Bulldogs) and he gives them space when they ask for it. He is discovering play and is oh so curious and cute when he chews on a toy. Sometimes he’ll even paw at his foster brother to initiate play. Churro also loves looking at the TV and lying in a heated blankie (he thinks it’s much too cold out right now). And his head tilts are just adorable as ever! A few things to note with Churro — he is blind in one eye and partially blind in the other. But that doesn’t seem to hinder him at all. He’s smart and quite active. He rubs up against things to feel out where he is. Long flights of stairs, however, will need to be gated. In terms of potty training, he is learning and seems to learn best by following the lead of his foster brother. However, it likely wouldn’t take long for him to catch on without another dog. Churro will be getting neutered and have his teeth removed in January. A soft diet will likely be necessary. Churro really has an A+ personality and is the goofiest, sweetest, most deserving pup ever. He is SO excited to find a loving forever home where he can snuggle, play and find joy in his later years!!

Donut is a 6-year-old English Bulldog with a face you’ll want to smoosh and a soul that’s slowly learning what love feels like. She’s had a tough start to life, but now she’s safe, warm, and discovering just how good it can feel to be part of a real family. She’s a quiet, gentle girl who prefers calm, cozy environments. Donut doesn’t care much for toys or most treats — unless you happen to have Cheetos, which she finds completely irresistible. She has recently mastered the stairs and while she’s working on leash skills, she’s much more comfortable roaming freely in a fenced-in yard. A harness works best for her, as she can easily wiggle out of a collar, and trust us — she will if given the chance.  She is able to walk behind with the leash but still prefers to do her business in the back yard.   At home, Donut likes to find a peaceful corner to relax in and prefers when people interact with her at her level, as standing over her can be intimidating. She doesn’t bark much, only when alarmed, and she gets along well with friendly dogs of all sizes. She doesn’t need a dog companion in her forever home, but she may enjoy having one around. Donut is potty trained on a consistent schedule and will often stay dry overnight, though she sometimes uses a potty pad if needed. She’s not crate trained but does well having her own quiet space. Donut’s right eye doesn’t produce tears, so she may need occasional over-the-counter drops, but it doesn’t slow her down. She also has arthritis in her back and needs daily medication.  What she really needs is someone with patience, kindness, and a heart big enough to help her continue to come out of her shell. She’s sweet. She’s sensitive. She’s a little weird in the best possible way. If you have a soft couch and an even softer heart, Donut just might be your perfect match.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.
