Story
Welcome Nutz to CCPAL Rescue. Nutz is a 3-year-old Chug (Chihuahua/Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He is a quieter dog and likes to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that is more quiet and wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
🩷 Meet Junia! 🩷 8.5 months old | 13 lbs | Pug Mix House Trained | Crate Trained | Good with Dogs & Cats Junia is a sweet, playful little pup who wins everyone over with her adorable underbite — people often say she looks like a mini boxer! At home, she’s a curious companion who loves to follow her person from room to room, making sure she’s part of whatever’s going on. Once Junia feels comfortable, she turns into a total cuddlebug! She gives gentle kisses, loves sitting in laps, and adores morning snuggles on the bed. She’s also become an excellent walking buddy — walks are one of her favorite activities, and she trots along proudly beside you. Because she was under-socialized before rescue, Junia can still startle easily and may bark at strangers or new situations. She isn’t fearful — she just needs a bit of patience and reassurance to build trust. Once she does, her silly, affectionate personality shines through. Junia gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and does great with cats too! She enjoys playing chase and wrestling with her big dog friends, and even engages with her foster’s playful cat (but wisely gives space to the grumpy one). When no one’s up for playtime, she happily entertains herself with toys or zooms around before curling up for a long nap. Junia would thrive in a loving home with another friendly dog or a patient adopter who can help her continue to build confidence. She’s the perfect blend of sweet, silly, and snuggly — a wonderful companion ready to bring joy to her forever family! 🐾 Adopt Junia today and let this little pug mix steal your heart! *Not available for transport out of state. Must be adopted locally to the San Antonio, TX area.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Muslin, a sensitive soul with the sweetest heart once you earn his trust. This handsome Frenchton has had a rough start and is still learning that the world can be a kind, gentle place—but with patience, love, and consistency, he blossoms into the most loyal little companion. Muslin needs a calm, predictable home where he can decompress and take things at his own pace. He’s nervous with new people, loud noises, and sudden movements, so he’ll do best with someone who understands that trust is something to be earned, not rushed. Once he feels safe, though, his true personality shines—he becomes playful, goofy, and affectionate, showing off his silly side and even getting the zoomies around the yard. He’s fully potty trained and very smart—he’ll bark to let you know when it’s time to go outside, when he’s hungry, or if his water bowl needs refilling. Muslin loves bones, toys, and cheese (his favorite treat!), and he enjoys roaming a fenced yard where he can explore freely.  He also really loves belly rubs.  And, be forewarned that he is a sock thief!  He just loves them.   He’s crate trained but may bark a bit before settling down, and he’s still working on feeling comfortable on a leash. Because he can be fearful, a secure fenced yard is a must, and he’d prefer a quieter home without small children. Muslin may take a few days to warm up, but once he chooses you, he’ll love you with his whole heart. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog discover safety, comfort, and trust, Muslin will repay your kindness a hundred times over. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Donut — a soft, squishy marshmallow of a dog with a sprinkle of sass and a whole lot of heart. Donut is a 6-year-old English Bulldog with a face you’ll want to smoosh and a soul that’s slowly learning what love feels like. She’s had a tough start to life, but now she’s safe, warm, and discovering just how good it can feel to be part of a real family. She’s a quiet, gentle girl who prefers calm, cozy environments. Donut doesn’t care much for toys or most treats — unless you happen to have Cheetos, which she finds completely irresistible. She has recently mastered the stairs and while she’s working on leash skills, she’s much more comfortable roaming freely in a fenced-in yard. A harness works best for her, as she can easily wiggle out of a collar, and trust us — she will if given the chance.  She is able to walk behind with the leash but still prefers to do her business in the back yard.   At home, Donut likes to find a peaceful corner to relax in and prefers when people interact with her at her level, as standing over her can be intimidating. She doesn’t bark much, only when alarmed, and she gets along well with friendly dogs of all sizes. She doesn’t need a dog companion in her forever home, but she may enjoy having one around. Donut is potty trained on a consistent schedule and will often stay dry overnight, though she sometimes uses a potty pad if needed. She’s not crate trained but does well having her own quiet space. Donut’s right eye doesn’t produce tears, so she may need occasional over-the-counter drops, but it doesn’t slow her down. She also has arthritis in her back and needs daily medication.  What she really needs is someone with patience, kindness, and a heart big enough to help her continue to come out of her shell. She’s sweet. She’s sensitive. She’s a little weird in the best possible way. If you have a soft couch and an even softer heart, Donut just might be your perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Beau is the shy little gentleman of his litter, a 11-pound sweetheart who’s quietly collecting confidence one tiny victory at a time. When he first arrived, he wasn’t so sure about this whole “humans” thing — but now he trots over when you call his name, plops himself at your feet like a polite little gentleman, and waits patiently to be scooped up for snuggles. He is, in short, the world’s tiniest Southern gentleman trapped in a Minnesota puppy body. His two bold sisters boss him around like tiny tornadoes, but Beau takes it in stride. He’s a gentle soul who’d rather trot through a pile of leaves, find the perfect stick, and declare himself King of Autumn. If leaf piles were a sport, Beau would be the reigning champion, gold medalist, and undefeated title holder. He loves playing with his golden retriever foster sibling, enjoys gentle belly rubs, and is happy to curl up in your lap once his little adventurer heart is tired out. He’s crate trained, great with dogs, kids, and even cats, and has a sweet, goofy charm that sneaks up on you until suddenly… you’re smitten. Beau is still working on potty training and hasn’t started leash practice yet, so a fenced yard is best while he’s learning the ropes, or a home committed to teaching him! But he’s smart, eager to please, and full of quiet determination — the kind that makes you cheer for him when he masters something new. If you’re looking for a soft, snuggly, leaf-obsessed little buddy who will love you with his whole tiny heart, Beau is ready to be your gentle little shadow. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!
