Martha is one of those dogs. This sweet 13-year-old Shih Tzu-Pug mix has the gentlest soul you could ever hope to meet. Though she is small and delicate, her heart is overflowing with quiet love. In her golden years, Martha moves through the world at a soft, unhurried pace, seeking out warm blankets, cozy corners, and long, peaceful naps in her favorite bed. Martha is a true cuddle expert. Her favorite place in the world is right beside you, snuggled close, sharing her calm, comforting presence. Whether she’s resting her head in your lap or tucked into her blankets, she brings a sense of peace to everyone around her. She is currently in the early stages of kidney disease and needs a little extra care, but what she gives back in return is immeasurable. Martha has a beautiful way of reminding you to slow down, cherish quiet moments, and find joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Senior dogs like Martha are so often overlooked, yet they have some of the biggest hearts. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Lily the Chug Are you looking for a small bundle of energy full of love, antics, & sass to liven up your home? Then look no farther than Lily the chug (3/4 pug, 1/4 chihuahua with a whole lotta chi attitude)! This long legged, grumpy faced little minx has adorable ears that either stand up at attention or rest crossed atop her head. Her overbite, often with her lip stuck on her teefers gives her adorable expressions. Lily has no enemies, loving to play-play-play with dogs & people of all ages & sizes. At her foster mom’s house, she cavorts with a 90# Great Pyrenees as much as she does with a pair of pugs. She’d also like to play with the cats, but she is too hyper for them & gets swatted. Lily does calm down to cuddle & actively seeks attention. Lily was a neglected outdoor pup until her surrender to God’s Dogs Rescue, so is still working on her housebreaking. She almost has it down pat with use of a doggy door. You will never experience a dull moment with this petite cutie in your life! Attributes: Housebreaking in progress. She is looking for an active mixed breed dog experienced family with a securely fenced yard. She will do best with another dog companion or an active family. She likes dogs his size, dog beds, laps, bones (to chew on), couches and toys. She will do best in an active home with children over 10 years of age. She is crate trained, loves car rides, walks and dog training. Not sure on exact adult size, but guessing no larger than a medium sized dog as parents are 25 lbs. No apartments please. They are good with other dogs and people, and cats are unknown.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Meet Linden! ❤️ Linden is an adorable  mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This sweet boy is playful and loves his toys, but his favorite thing in the world is being close to his people-especially if that means curling up in your lap for some quality snuggle time.He's incredibly affectionate and happiest just hanging out by your side, making him the perfect cuddle buddy for cozy nights and relaxed days at home. Linden also does great with other dogs and enjoys having furry friends around.Linden rides well in the car, so he's always ready to tag along on adventures. Corrine is a friendly, affectionate, and happy little girl with the sweetest personality. Like any puppy, she has bursts of playful energy but overall she's surprisingly calm and easygoing. If there's one thing Corrine loves most, it's being close to her people. She wants to cuddle whenever she gets the chance and will happily curl up next to a person or another dog when it's time to nap. She's incredibly affectionate, so her ideal family will welcome a true snuggle bug who wants to be on the couch, in bed, and included in everyday life. She thrives on human companionship! Corrine is being fostered with 12 and 16 year-old children, along with several other dogs, and she's done wonderfully with everyone. She’s accustomed to kids coming and going—she loves their attention! She reads other dogs' social cues well and enjoys having canine companions. Corrine loves bringing her toys to her dog bed exploring the yard with her nose to the ground. She has an impressive sense of smell and has even started pointing at birds, which is adorable to watch! A true southern girl at heart (she’s from Kentucky!), she loves basking in the sun and exploring the great outdoors. She's making great progress with potty training. When she's taken outside regularly, she goes right away. Like any puppy, she'll continue to need consistency, patience, and a predictable routine as she learns. She will go on a potty pad if she can’t hold it in the house. Other fun facts: -Corrine rides in the car well, she lays on a blanket and is very calm. -She’s athletic and would love to go to a home where she can go for walks and be active. -Her coat is very thin, which means she’ll get cold quickly in the winter. A little sweater would be of great benefit to her when the temperatures drop. -Corrine loves to play fetch outside! She’s still learning to give the ball back after she retrieves it. -She’s treat motivated and will work hard for food, especially cheese! -When she’s playful and excited, she bounces around—she’s a true joy! Corrine is an incredibly special little girl who will reward her family with endless love and companionship. Corrine is estimated to be 5 months old and 16 lbs. Since we dont know the dogs actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, and have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.
