While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap. He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Johnny is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
