Story
Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. He is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his joyful personality and continue his simple daily care so he can thrive for years to come. Are you ready to give this resilient, playful boy the forever home he deserves? Basic Info: Male, 1 yr old, Boston Terrier/Chihuahua, Coat: Black and White, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and preventions, preventatives. Local adoption fee (Texas) - $200 Out of state adoption (includes transport to your area) ‐ $450

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🎩🐾 Meet Boss — Small Body, Big Personality, Zero Actual Authority 🐾🎩 Male • 2 Years Old • 15 lbs • Boston Terrier Don’t let the name fool you — Boss may sound like he runs the place, but really he’s just here to have a great time, make friends, and steal a few toys along the way. At 2 years old and 15 pounds, this Boston Terrier is the perfect mix of fun-sized and full-powered. He’s social, happy, and always ready to jump into whatever is happening — whether that’s playtime, walk time, or “let’s see what’s in that toy basket” time. Boss is great with people and other dogs, and he brings a playful energy that makes him an awesome companion. Now, fair warning… his play style is a little on the enthusiastic side. Think less “tea party” and more “WRESTLEMANIA,” so he’d do best with another dog who can match his vibe and enjoy a good romp. Toys? Oh yes. Big fan. Photo shoots? Nailed it. (Total natural, honestly.) Attention? Accepts all forms. Despite his playful, bouncy personality, Boss also has a sweet, friendly nature that makes him easy to love. He’s the kind of dog who greets life with a wagging tail and a “what are we doing next?!” attitude. And don’t let his size fool you — this little guy is ready for adventure. He’d happily join you for: • Neighborhood strolls • Errand runs (shotgun seat is his) • Mild hikes • Camping trips • Backyard play sessions Cats are currently unknown, but one thing we do know is Boss is all about fun, friends, and being part of the action. Boss is the kind of dog who will bring laughter, energy, and a whole lot of personality into your life. He may not actually be in charge… but he will absolutely be in charge of your heart. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Boss bring the fun, the zoomies, and the good vibes home. 🐾💙

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Opal is a gentle, affectionate English Bulldog with a heart full of love and a personality that melts everyone she meets. At home, she’s the ultimate cuddle companion—always ready for pets and snuggles, especially if it involves relaxing on the couch under a cozy blanket. When she’s comfortable, Opal is happy to settle in and relax, but she also enjoys following her people around the house like a loyal little shadow. One of her favorite moves is flopping onto the floor and rolling over the moment someone walks by, politely requesting belly rubs. Opal’s sweet and goofy nature shines through in everything she does. She has a charming little wobbly walk that makes her presence known wherever she goes, and it only adds to her lovable character. Outside the home, Opal is curious about the world around her and enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore new sights and smells. Meeting new people is one of Opal’s favorite activities. She greets strangers with a friendly demeanor and will often sit nicely in front of them, patiently waiting for the pets and attention she hopes will follow. Her calm, even-tempered personality makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a gentle, affectionate dog. Opal is potty trained and reliably goes outside. She is crate trained and does well resting in her crate when needed. She is currently working on her leash skills and is making good progress—she should do just fine going out on leash for potty breaks and short walks. Opal already knows basic commands like “sit” and “wait,” showing she’s eager to learn and please. With her loving personality, goofy charm, and devotion to cuddles, Opal is a wonderful lap dog who is happiest simply being close to her people. She’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, gentle bulldog who will happily trade endless love for belly rubs. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
