Story
Bean is a wonderful 7 year-old, 17 lb terrier mix. Bean is a classic terrier, with a big personality in a little body! He is energetic and loves hiking, playing with toys, and is very smart. At the end of the day, Bean loves cuddling and making blanket forts. Bean is an intelligent guy. He knows all basic commands, and even knows how to dance on command. He is food motivated, crate trained, potty trained, and learns new things quickly. Even though Bean has plenty of energy, he is pretty low maintenance and does well around an hour of exercise per day. Bean also does well left alone at home. Bean does well with other dogs out and about, but wants to be the king of the castle in the home. He has been indifferent around cats. Bean would do best in a home without children under 12 years old.

Selena is one of the most sweetest and friendliest dog you can ever meet. She is very mellow, quiet, and a bit shy. But she is also very affectionate, loyal, and well-behaved. She is not looking for adventures or excitement, but rather a quiet forever home where she can receive lots of attention, love, and affection. She is about 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds. Selena has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She walks well on the leash, enjoys car rides, and loves to cuddle. She's great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and she would be a wonderful addition to any loving family. She doesn't ask for much other than a chance to be in a safe environment where she feels loved and cared for.

Story
Thank you for your interest in this sweet boy. Bugsy has been adopted Bugsy is a great buddy to have around. He is about 18 lbs and around 6- 7 years old. He enjoys going on walks and loves to wander around in the yard in his wheels or scooting along, play with his toys, happy all snuggled up with his people, and just hanging around. Bugsy loves the toys at his foster home and doesn’t mind sharing them. He is the sweetest and most loving guy you will ever meet. He has been around all sizes and breeds of dogs and gets along great with them He enjoys the company of other dogs but he would be just as happy to be an only dog if his person was around most of the time to keep him company. If not then he needs a canine companion for company. Bugsy is very affectionate but doesn’t require a ton of attention to be content.  He is pretty low-maintenance and will happily follow your lead. Bugsy doesn’t use his back legs but do not be fooled since he is still an active guy and can go many places with his wheels or rear harness. He is very good around young kids and lives with one now. Bugsy is exceptionally loving and eager to please. He knows what he is being told and if you are looking for a smarty to be part of your family he is the guy. He will bring lots of warmth and terrier-silliness to your home. Give him a chance and he will steal your heart. Bugsy also needs a new foster home if not adopted. He is now being fostered in Belmont, CA and his adoption fee is $275. Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great guy or for an application to adopt.

Story
Dottie  is a very sweet, high-energy puppy-like young dog. We should have named her Rascal because she is a little Rascal. She loves to play, loves to go on walks, and explore. She is looking for a family that is up for a whirlwind adventure. Energy Level?  High  House-trained?  We are working on it Describe how they are on leash?  She is learning leash manners and catching on Describe how they are with other dogs?  Good with other dogs overall. She may be shy when meeting new dogs, but once she's comfortable, she enjoys playing. She can be protective of her food, so meals should be fed separately. She may also show reactivity when confined in her crate, but this typically subsides once she's out and has a chance to interact appropriately. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Limited exposure to cats so far, but she has done well with the interactions she's had. Based on her temperament, we think she may do well in a home with cats, but slow, supervised introductions are recommended. Commands they know?   She is learning to take treats gently and is making good progress. She hasn't mastered any basic cues and would benefit from positive reinforcement training. What are their favorite things?   Dottie loves to play, eat, enjoy treats, snuggle, and explore. She also loves her toys and is always happy to entertain herself with a favorite toy. What do they need to work on?   She will benefit from basic training to help her greet people politely without jumping, wait patiently instead of barking for treats or food, and finish her potty training. She also needs to learn that she doesn't need to guard or worry about sharing her food and toys. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and a little patience, Dottie has all the makings of a wonderful companion. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Dottie has been left a full workday with the resident dog and access through the doggie door, which she learned on the first day. Where do they sleep?  Dottie is crate trained; however, she has been sleeping in an xpen. What is their ideal home?   Dottie would do best with another playful dog who can match her energy and enjoy romping around with her. She is a very smart girl who will thrive with basic training and is likely to learn quickly. She will benefit from a family that is committed to working with her to help her feel safe and understand that no one is going to take her resources away, and who is up for puppy-proofing and working on mouthy puppy behaviors so they don't become lasting habits. Dottie is an active dog who would enjoy daily walks, playtime, and a securely fenced yard where she can run and explore. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, has so much love to give, and will make an amazing companion. Not good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby is NOT a first time adopter dog. He needs a special and experienced adopter, preferably a female, who is patient and knowledgeable about scared, timid dogs. Kirby is nervous when meeting new people and will require multiple visits with a prospective adopter before being ready to go to a new home. However, once Kirby trusts you he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer favorite. One volunteer has called him the love of your life kind of dog. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! . Kirby is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. Half of Kirby's adoption fee is sponsored by a Jelly Place's volunteer.
