Story
Jeff Probst is here and he's ready to run the show! This dapper gentleman arrived on the scene with an inquisitive air and a take charge attitude - all of Muttville's a stage and his Survivor-themed companions merely players. Velvety black fur, a gently frosted face, and pointy ears that'll have you thinking he's part rabbit - Mr. Probst is the total package! He spent seven years working on his showmanship and patter, and we may be biased, but we think it's perfect. Jeff Probst is a singular senior who is ready to strut his stuff and show you what he can do, and he'd love an audience. Would you like a seat? Here's some notes from his foster: Jeff is full of love. He loves sitting on laps, he loves exploring the backyard, he loves going out for walks, and he absolutely loves meal time. He’s a very affectionate little guy and is happiest on laps. He does well on public transport or going for rides in the car and can walk a couple of miles. At 7 years old he can easily handle stairs and getting up and down off of the couch. Jeff is a smart dog and quickly learned the rules of the house. He is like an adolescent boy. Lots of energy on walks and at meal time but happy to just hang out at home. (If he had thumbs, I'm sure he would be playing video games!) He likes hanging out with my senior guy, who is about his size, but he would do fine as an only dog as well. He is sleeping through the night and pretty calm in the evenings. He is making great progress on housebreaking. He is very treat motivated and this has helped significantly with his leash reactivity (which seems to be with only big dogs at this point) but crossing the street when big dogs are coming has worked wonders. He sleeps well through the night and is a cute burrower. He loves curling up under a pile of blankets, so it’s best to pat fluffy blankets before sitting down! He prefers when his humans are around, but we have been practicing alone time, and while he may be a bit worried at the start, he does a good job waiting for his humans to come home. Jeff may have grown up in a loving situation without a lot of clear house rules but he is a good student as we teach him the rules of our house. We are continuing to work on some of the Ps and Qs of living in a home. Great news is that he has a great attitude and is a good learner. He will continue to need positive reinforcement on some things but he is so easy to handle that temporary accommodations while he gets up to speed are a breeze. We love Jeff Probst and you will too!

Story
Bean is a wonderful 7 year-old, 17 lb terrier mix. Bean is a classic terrier, with a big personality in a little body! He is energetic and loves hiking, playing with toys, and is very smart. At the end of the day, Bean loves cuddling and making blanket forts. Bean is an intelligent guy. He knows all basic commands, and even knows how to dance on command. He is food motivated, crate trained, potty trained, and learns new things quickly. Even though Bean has plenty of energy, he is pretty low maintenance and does well around an hour of exercise per day. Bean also does well left alone at home. Bean does well with other dogs, and seems indifferent around cats. Bean would do best in a home without children under 12 years old.

She is the kind of dog who settles in quickly, wins hearts effortlessly, and brings a calm, joyful presence wherever she goes. With her constantly wagging tail, affectionate nature, and adaptable personality, Yoga is truly the total package. She’s equally happy joining you on walks, playing with toys, or curling up in your lap for a cozy nap.   Daily Routine   Yoga sleeps quietly in her crate through the night (although, given the choice, she would happily upgrade to the big bed). In the morning, she wakes up whenever her people do— currently around 8:00 a.m.— and greets the day with adorable full-body downward-dog stretches worthy of her name. She’ll nibble a few bites of breakfast while waiting for her humans to get moving, then heads out for a 20-minute morning walk to take care of business.   Yoga prefers to potty on walks rather than in the yard and will patiently hold it as long as she gets a few short outings throughout the day— even quick trips around the block work perfectly for her. After her morning walk, she finishes breakfast and then settles in close to her foster, often lounging at their side or curled up in their lap while they work. She would make an excellent companion for someone who works from home or wants a calm office buddy.   Her day is a lovely balance of snuggles, naps, and short play sessions with her favorite squeaky toys. She enjoys another walk around noon, dinner followed by a short walk around 5:30 p.m., and one final quick trip outside before bedtime around 10:00 p.m. Once her needs are met, she is content to relax and be near her people.   Personality   Yoga is the definition of a sweet, easy-going cuddle bug. From the moment she arrived in her foster home, she made herself comfortable and quickly showed just how loving and affectionate she is. She adores everyone she meets and greets the world with an infectiously happy tail that seems to wag nonstop.   She has met many people out and about— including children—and has yet to meet a stranger. Given the opportunity, she will happily launch herself into your arms and settle in as if she’s always belonged there. Belly rubs and gentle scratches are among her favorite things, and she is never shy about asking for affection.   Yoga shares her love generously with everyone in the household and doesn’t play favorites. She would thrive in a family environment, but she is equally well-suited to a single person or couple looking for a devoted companion.   Social Skills   Yoga is very friendly with other dogs and enjoys meeting new canine friends. When she spots another dog on a walk, she can get a bit enthusiastic and may pull on the leash in excitement, but it’s all in a playful, puppyish way. With continued practice, she is likely to become even more polished on leash.   Activity Level & Interests   Yoga is wonderfully adaptable and can match a wide range of lifestyles. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and is always up for a nice walk, but she is just as content spending a quiet day at home lounging with her people.   Her greatest joy is simply being near her humans. Whether that means accompanying you on errands, joining you at the office, or relaxing on the couch, she is happiest when she’s part of the action.   Training & Home Life   Yoga is doing very well with her house training. She had one accident early on when her foster discovered that she strongly prefers to potty on walks rather than in the backyard. Once that routine was established, she has been reliable and consistent.   She may bark briefly at unfamiliar noises- she believes she is a very big, very brave little dog! However, her barking is minimal and not excessive.   While she doesn’t love being in her crate, she behaves very nicely when crated and settles down without issue. She also has no problem being left alone for reasonable periods, though she does enjoy keeping her people in sight whenever possible.     Why Yoga?   Yoga is one of those rare dogs who seems to fit seamlessly into just about any situation. She is loving without being demanding, playful without being hyper, and calm without being boring. Everyone who meets her falls in love, and it’s easy to see why.   If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate, low-maintenance companion who will happily share your days and keep your lap warm, you truly can’t go wrong with this wonderful little girl.March 30, 2026, 11:40 am

Story
Weight ~ 23 lbsPoppy recently spent two weeks in a dog-savvy foster home. They had much to say about her, but here is a quite summary: `Poppy is a bright, spirited, and incredibly charming girl with a playful personality and a quick, intelligent mind. She keeps things fun with her curiosity and sense of humor, and once she feels safe, her affectionate side really shines. Poppy forms strong bonds and enjoys being close to her person—on her own comfortable terms. She thrives with routine, structure, and mental enrichment, and she loves activities like structured play, sniffy walks, and learning new cues. Poppy does best in a calm, predictable home with an experienced adopter who understands sensitive dogs and uses patient, positive reinforcement. Busy environments can be overwhelming for her, and she benefits from clear boundaries and managed exposure to new situations.Poppy would be happiest in an adult-only home, ideally as an only dog, or with very careful introductions. With the right guidance and a low-stress lifestyle, she is a loyal, entertaining, and deeply rewarding companion.`If you are ready to experience the `successful project-dog` high, come meet Poppy, or call us to coordinate a meet and greet. We`re open Tue-Sun 11-5.
