Diana is a very kind and sweet fostered Rat Terrier mix in need of a forever home. She is very mellow, affectionate, and well-behaved. She is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 35 lbs. Her temperament is submissive around other dogs and shy around people. She walks well on the leash, is crate-trained and and is excellent in car rides. Diana has been spayed, all of her vaccinations are up to date, and she does not have any health issues. She would be a great addition to any family.

Story
I was looking for a dog. A friend posted this baby needing a home. I was so excited. But we are in a weight restriction apartment with a year lease. I made it clear that he had to be small. He needs more space. He is crate trained, learns quick, sits, lays, handshakes. Will sit and wait until you tell him he can eat. He does have some walking issues with pulling, but not always. He does not like all the landscapers and mowers going at once. It overwhelms him. Fee is negotiable because it's not about monetary. It's about making sure the best I can that he ends up in a good furrever home.

Meet Hopper ❤️‍🔥🐾 Hopper is a 4yr old, 11lb, Rat Terrier/mix. Hopper is a super sweet boy. Hopper is an active fella, that likes to go for walks, likes to run and play with toys, and likes to play with other dogs. Even though Hopper has old fractures on his hind legs, that doesn’t slow him down, he is faster than any other dog here at the rescue and loves to run around and play. Hopper gets along with all dogs of all sizes and ages. Hopper also loves to be held and loved on. Hopper may not know many commands, but that is ok, he is treat and love motivated and will come running as soon as you call him. Love and affection is what he craves. Hopper is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on his rabies vaccine. If you are interested in meeting Hopper, please fill out an application at www.broketailrescue.org.

Story
This young dog is Mindi. She is about a year old and weighs 14 pounds. She looks like a mix of Rat Terrier and has a great Brindle coat. She was originally a stray but lived in a home for a few days. During that time, she was noted to be good with small dogs and she seemed to enjoy the older kids in the home. She rode well in the car. $300.00 adoption will help us with her spay, vaccinations and microchipping. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit our website at www.petsnpals.org and complete the online adoption application.

Story
Meet the sweet and handsome Lil Bit. This photogenic little guy is a 6-year-old, 12-pound, tan and white, Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He has warm brown eyes and an inquisitive face. He can be a bit shy at first but will warm up to you, once he gets comfortable. His owner had to move and the family brought Lil Bit to AFC to find his happily ever after. He loves cuddling on the couch and will follow you anywhere. He is the perfect size to go everywhere you go. He walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. Lil Bit loves people more than other dogs but he gets along with other dogs his size and likes to play. He loves to rub his face on your face asking you to please love him, more like a cat. Lil Bit absolutely loves doing ZOOMIES in the yard so please have a privately fenced yard to play with him in. He came to us skin and bones and has finally put on enough weight that he looks good. No more neglect for this this sweet boy! He needs an experienced owner willing to help him be his best self! He is for the most part housetrained and has had basic obedience training. He is extremely praise motivated and of course treats are nice! Lil Bit would do best in a home with adults to dote on him though he loves teenagers too. He has been neutered is current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He is a wonderful companion and is waiting for a loving, furever family. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Looking for your new best friend? Chewy is your guy! Chewy is a 3.5-year-old cutie who is single and ready to mingle. He is such a sweet boy who loves treats and being with his people. He can be shy at first with strangers, but once he knows you, he will always greet you with a big smile and a wiggly behind. Chewy weighs about 13lbs. Chewy originally came to us in 2020 after he was found as a stray with a broken leg in Yolo County. He get all fixed and up and was adopted from us, but unfortunately is back looking for his fur-ever home.  Chewy is a sweet boy but needs some time to warm up before feeling comfortable with new people. The quickest way to heart is with treats! Once he knows you mean yummy snacks, he is eager to be your friend. He quickly made himself at home in his foster home and loves spending time hanging out on the couch with his foster parents. He LOVES his foster mom, but also thinks his foster dad is pretty cool too.  Chewy isn't a big fan of being picked up, so his new family will need to respect this boundary and help him feel safe and build trust with him.  Chewy is slowly starting to play in his foster home and has discovered a love for toys. One thing he absolutely loves is his walks! He is learning that neighbors out on walks tend to have tasty treats for him, so that has been a great discovery for him. He would be a great companion for someone who enjoys neighborhood walks but isn't looking for a dog that needs a lot of exercise. Chewy is currently living with other dogs and has been doing well. He tends to do best with other chill small dogs. He could be a great buddy for another easy-going dog, but he also wouldn't mind being your spoiled only child. Chewy currently lives with cats and has been respectful of them. He could do well living with cats in his new home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Chewy needs an adult-only home. Chewy is housetrained and crate trained. He is happy to hang out in his crate when his foster parents are at work and sleeps through the night in his little cave. He isn't destructive and is overall a respectful houseguest. Chewy is such a loving boy and we know the perfect home is out there. If he sounds like the cutie for you, submit an application today!   Chewy's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. September 23, 2023, 10:00 pm
