Ginny is super sweet and playful, especially with other dogs. She's a little skittish at first and takes a little while to warm up, but once she's comfortable with you, she is sweet, a champion snuggler, and an all-around great companion. Energy Level? Medium House trained? Yes Describe how they are on a leash. Does well on a leash. Likes to stop and smell all the smells. Describe how they are with other dogs? Ginny plays nice with other dogs and has lived with other dogs; however, she would do well as your one and only. She loves all the attention. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Ginny has been in home with a dog-savvy cat and did very well. Commands they know? She comes when called. What are their favorite things? Playing with other dogs, chewing on toys and treats, and snuggling with her people. She also enjoys being outside and exploring our backyard. What do they need to work on? Ginny is still learning what's okay and not okay to chew. She'll need lots of toys that are safe for chewing and some patience and understanding while she figures it out. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? She has been alone for up to 8 hours and has been okay. She may howl briefly as we leave but then quiets down. She is generally happy in her crate and has a good view of all her foster fur siblings. Where do they sleep? In a small crate in our bedroom. She sleeps well through the night and enjoys a morning snuggle in our bed when there's time. What is their ideal home? Ginny 's perfect home includes at least one other similarly-sized dog because doggy playtime is her favorite thing. She'll need a family who can give her some time and space to get comfortable, as she can be pretty skittish initially. She'll also need patience as she learns what's okay to chew and what's not. Hark! It is Brewski! Your knight in speckled, spotted and shining armor! Who knew a leggy Rat Terrier mix would show up to save you from boredom, bad choices, loneliness and unwarranted sullenness? We knew! The guy is 100% legit. He gets along with dogs, cats, kids and other humans. He is house trained and doesn't mind taking the stairs. He possesses no swords (we checked), but vast amounts of chivalry. Come meet him and get a load of his noble and polite bearing. Note: Snuggles and boops are not beneath him. Here's some notes from his foster: Brewski is super sweet and very snuggly! Will jump into your lap and snuggle with you. Does super well in car rides! Will slowly fall asleep. Very peppy and can go on endless adventures. I don't think he's 14! He acts very young for his age! Brewski will follow you everywhere in the cutest way possible! Loves to play with toys. He's potty trained! Haven't had an accident inside ever!

Story

Parker is a 10 year old rat terrier mix. Other breed unknown. He was adopted 10 years ago and has been part of the family ever since. He’s extremely intelligent and can recognize when you’re sad or in need of extra love. Parker has completed a basic good behavior type course and listens very well. He’s house trained and doesn’t have accidents. He still enjoys being active but at his age he mostly prefers to lounge around the house. He does get along with other dogs but should be cautious when introducing him to other dogs. He’s extremely protective and I do have to keep a tight hold on his leash when walking near other dogs. That’s really the only unfavorable behavior trait he has but I believe it can be corrected by and experienced adoptive dog parent. Rehoming him was a last resort but I unfortunately cannot provide the proper home and care for him when I’m transitioning/relocating.
