Story
Hi I’m Jade! I am approximately 3 months old, female, and about 18 pounds (I am the biggest puppy in my litter). I came to Illinois from Texas with my siblings. I have been staying at a foster home that has a few other adult dogs and a lot of puppies! I get along with everyone. I have also met kids and do well with them. I unfortunately have not met cats so I’m unsure what I would think! I have beautiful brindle fur! My foster mom says I’m a big sweetheart. I love to sit by her feet and love when she pets me or holds me. I truly love affection! I also love to play with the other puppies and dogs at my foster home. We love to run around the yard and chase each other! I am very respectful of the other dogs though when we play. I haven’t learned to walk on a leash yet since I just recently received enough shots to go outside! I will need someone who will be patient enough to train me with the leash, potty train me, and overall just teach me how to act. I am just a puppy after all! I currently sleep quietly in a crate at night with my sister Juno. I might need to adjust to being alone in a crate but I’m sure with time I will do great! If you’re looking for a sweet girl with beautiful brindle fur, I’d be a good match for you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application. Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.

Story
Hi there, I’m Arlo! And I’m 12 weeks old! (But you can also call me “cutest little nugget ever” — I answer to that too!) I may be small, but don’t let my size fool you — I’ve got a BIG personality packed into this tiny body! I was told I’m a rat terrier, but my foster mom said I’m probably a mix of lots of breeds. Whatever I am, I can assure you that I’m a littlee bit of everything with a lot of bit of awesome. I’m a playful, wiggly ball of energy who loves zooming around, pouncing on toys, and making new friends wherever I go. (Seriously, I don’t care how big you are! Two legs or four, I love you already.) Playtime is my favorite time (okay… snuggle time is a very close second). Whether it’s a squeaky toy, a game of tug o war, or just exploring the world outside, I’m always up for an adventure. And when I’m all tuckered out? I’ll curl up in your lap like the little snuggle bug I am. I’m still a baby, so I’m learning all the important stuff — like where to potty, how to walk on a leash, and that some things are a “no-no.” I’m a really good boy in my crate, and I am super with my potty training. I use pads inside, but i prefer to go outside. Sometimes my foster mom just doesn’t get to the door fast enough. I’d love a home that’s patient, fun, and ready to help me grow into the best boy I can be (I’m pretty great already though if i do say so myself.) I get along great with other dogs, and I’d love a playful fur sibling — but I’d also be happy as your one and only as long as I get lots of love and attention. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m open to making new friends! I also love all the humans of all ages in my home, especially the 4 year old. So… what do you think? Are you looking for a tiny best friend with a huge heart and a love for life? Because if you are, I’m pretty sure we’re meant to be! Can’t wait to meet you — Love, Arlo Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). Meet Jasper – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! At about 25 pounds, Jasper may still be growing, but his heart is already full-sized. This energetic pup is a joyful, playful spirit who absolutely adores kids, toys, and making friends with other dogs. Whether it’s romping in the yard or joining in on a game of tag with the little humans, Jasper is always ready for fun. A loyal boy through and through, Jasper thrives with a human companion by his side. He’s incredibly social and affectionate, bonding quickly with both people and pups. True to his curious nature, Jasper fancies himself a bit of a backyard explorer—on the hunt for bugs, worms, and any other tiny critters that catch his eye! Jasper is both potty and crate trained, making him a great fit for a home ready to continue his good habits. He walks wonderfully on a leash and even enjoys going for a jog, making him the perfect companion for active families or individuals. We estimate Jasper will grow into a medium to large dog, likely around 50 to 65 pounds. With his sweet temperament, playful energy, and love for adventure, he’s ready to bring joy and loyalty to his forever home. Could that be with you? Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). Meet Juno Hi I’m Juno! I am approximately 3 months old, female, and about 14 pounds. I came to Illinois from Texas with my siblings. I have been staying at a foster home that has a few other adult dogs and a lot of puppies! I get along with everyone. I have also met kids and do well with them. I unfortunately have not met cats so I’m unsure what I would think! I have beautiful brindle fur with white paws and absolutely gorgeous caramel colored eyes! I am constantly wanting my foster mom to pick me up and hold me. I jump up and stare up at her until she picks me up. My foster mom says this is super sweet because when I first came here, I was the most timid puppy but with a loving home, I have grown to love attention and affection more than anything. I may still be a little timid at first but once I get to know you, I will open up quickly! I love to play with the other puppies and dogs at my foster home. We love to run around the yard and chase each other! I am very respectful of the other dogs though when we play.
