Story
Peyton is about 4 years old and is a very sweet baby! She is shy and will do best in a quiet home. Her owner recently passed away and she really misses having a lap to snuggle in. Peyton needs someone who is home part of the time.... or all the time. This precious girl is well behaved and very easy to care for. Story
Once upon a time (actually, last fall) in a magical land (aka Texas), three puppies were found in a box along with their mama. At the time, they were royally infested with demodex mange, which causes hair loss, so perhaps that explains how they came to be called the Royal Pups. Appropriately named Harry, Megan, and Kate, the pups and their mama, Elizabeth, have received medical treatment and are doing beautifully. Little 8-lb. Harry, estimated to be almost 6 months old, is a rattie mix with a likely helping of dachshund. His hair hasn't quite finished growing back, but it's almost there, and he's 100% ready to get his very own forever home. With a predicted adult weight of around 10 lbs., Harry is going to be quite a handsome fellow.    Packed with puppy energy when he first wakes, Harry is actually a pretty easy-going guy. He observes the other dogs in his foster home and easily follows daily routines. He also has been doing great on the little outings he takes to learn how to be comfortable around strangers. He is starting to learn how to walk on a leash using a harness, but his favorite activity is just wandering around, exploring every inch of the fenced backyard. He loves to chase and wrestle with most of the dogs in his foster home, yet somehow he intuitively seems to know to be very gentle with the one who is undergoing treatment for heartworms. The pair frequently snuggle and nap side by side. He's just as cuddly with his humans, preferring to be held or quietly sleeping next to them on the couch. At bedtime, his favorite spot is going to be in bed right next to you. You can see more photos of this prince of a pup in his online album at  https://ImageEvent.com/newrattitude/harry .  Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I'm Elizabeth, a 2 1/2-year-old rattie mix of perfect size (13 1/2 lbs.) and gorgeous eyes! When I arrived at my foster home about 5 months ago, I was a single mom with babies, and I was very distrustful of people. Today with the kids grown up and people not nearly so scary, I'm ready for some babying myself in a home of my own. I'll still time to get to know you (and any other new people), but if you get down on my level and let ME come to YOU, then I would love to be your little lap warmer. You can rub my belly and under my chin all you want!   Now, loud noises and fast movements scare me, so I'm not a fan of kids (elementary school age or younger). If they come around, I'll probably go into hiding, but I DO get along with all three of my canine foster sisters. We love running in the yard together, if only for a little bit. I really prefer being inside with my people. I'm not a big barker, but if I see somebody or something outside that shouldn't be there, I'll let you know.    At night, I'll sleep in a bed inside a crate if you want, but I also like sleeping in bed with my humans, especially if I can get under the covers. During the day, I love lounging on a fluffy dog bed (my foster mom has one in every room). Since my foster mom works from home, I'm used to being around people all day, but if they have to go out, I do fine in my crate and never have accidents there. However, sometimes when I'm out and about in the house, I may forget to tell you that I need to go potty. If you take me outside on a regular schedule  (especially right after I eat), it will help me avoid any indoor 'oopsies.'   Did I tell you my tummy and your hand were made for each other? You know it's true! You can see more photos of me at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/elizabethakaliliabet  .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Meet Bellini! The 2 year old Rat Terrier mix who has already had quite the journey. Bellini was rescued from a backyard breeder and has had to overcome some tough experiences. She's often nervous, timid, and quiet, but has gained a lot of confidence in recent times.Bellini needs someone who is patient and understanding, who can provide her with a safe and loving environment. Her favorite activities include being a couch potato, trying new treats, and enjoying a sunny day for a (short) walk where she can explore and smell everything around her.Despite being fairly low-energy, Bellini loves spending time with her humans and is happy to have some alone time too. She's good with cats, usually ignoring them, and while she's shy around other dogs, she could do well with a proper introduction. Bellini has learned how to walk on a leash, is potty trained, and is a great apartment dog. With her sweet and curious personality, Bellini has a lot to offer and is ready for her forever home. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who needs a little extra patience and care, Bellini could be the perfect fit for you.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
