Queenie is a gentle soul who’s blossomed beautifully in foster care. When she first arrived, the idea of indoor living felt unfamiliar and a little scary—but with time, patience, and love, she’s grown into a comfortable, happy house dog who truly enjoys the good life. She’s built positive relationships with other dogs, including her resident foster sibling, and continues to do well with slow, thoughtful introductions. Queenie has even attended doggy daycare and handled it like a pro, and she’s been respectful around visiting toddlers too. While she can still get a bit excited when passing other dogs on walks, she’s made great progress and will benefit from continued leash guidance to keep building her confidence. As a seasoned girl, Queenie is starting to show her age and now prefers shorter, leisurely walks—about 15 minutes suits her just fine. After that, she’s happiest soaking up the sunshine, lounging in the yard, or keeping an eye on the neighborhood while happily chewing on a stick. She’s also discovered the joy of playtime, whether it’s chasing a ball (returning it is optional, of course!) or engaging in a friendly game of tug. Queenie’s kennel has become her cozy retreat. While she doesn’t love being kenneled overnight, she’s come to see it as her safe space and will often bring her favorite treats or toys inside to enjoy some quiet time. Every now and then, she’ll even choose to nap there on her own. Affection is Queenie’s love language. She adores belly rubs and will gently remind you not to stop—sometimes with a paw, sometimes with her whole body flopped across your lap. Personal space isn’t really her thing; she’s convinced she’s a lap dog and is always ready to shower you with kisses. Her happy “smiles,” little snorts for attention, and enthusiastic tail wags make her impossible not to adore. She thrives on a simple routine: a morning walk, some afternoon play or mental enrichment, and then she’s ready to settle in for the evening by around 6 pm. Queenie knows a wide range of commands including sit, down, off, out, kennel, here, wait, gentle, bed, and leave it. She’s fully house-trained and walks nicely on a leash with continued practice. Queenie would do best in a home that can offer her patience with introductions to new pets and respect her preferences (like not fussing too much with her paws). She’s curious but generally unbothered by cats and hasn’t shown much interest in them. After a tough start in life, Queenie is now embracing the comfort, love, and joy she’s always deserved. She’s a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily spend her days by your side—sunbathing, snoring, and soaking up every bit of love you have to give.

When she first arrived, she was scared and unsure with her tail tucked. With strangers, she does still have an initial wariness, but once you are part of her trusted circle, she quickly comes out of her shell. She is a goofy and playful girl who LOVES to cuddle up in your lap, chew on bones and chase balls. Pumpkin is full of affection and gets along great with other dogs. She's also very smart and well-behaved, she's never chewed on anything she's not supposed to, and she's never had a potty accident indoors. She's a pretty quiet girl, but will make noise at appropriate times - which isn't often. She sleeps with the resident dogs at night and happily spends portions of her day quietly in a crate. Pumpkin still has some puppy energy, so she would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. However, as long as she gets daily walks or runs, she'd do just as well without one. Meet Ruthie, a Rottweiler both roughly 10/20/2020. I love all dogs both big and small. I am kind and mellow and love to play with the resident dog, Spur. I am house trained and quiet as my mom works from home. She said I am the perfect dog because I am a good eater, not a barker or runner and sleep all night. I stay close to mom both inside and outside of the home. I love the crate and often sit in the open crate during the day. Mom says I need a family who will be patient with me so I can get acquainted and trust. I am happy to let my mom love me, kiss me, grind my nails, massage my feet and rub my ears. I love attention and belly rubs once I know and trust you. A typical Rottweiler who is loyal to his family. Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200.
