Story
Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues

Story
Meet ReedReed was found wandering the streets, thin, hungry, and cold. Despite everything he’s been through, this handsome boy is incredibly social and eager to be near people. He’s smart, attentive, and already knows several commands — sit, paw, and down.Like many Rottweilers, Reed is protective of his belongings. He prefers his food and treats all to himself and doesn’t enjoy being hugged tightly around his belly. With someone familiar with the breed and respectful of his boundaries, Reed will thrive.Reed is loyal, intelligent, and ready for a fresh start. He’d make a wonderful companion for an experienced adopter who understands the Rottie personality and can offer him structure, love, and confidence.

Story
Meet Chanel (ACCT-A-211361)! This lovely lady is looking for her forever home and could be the perfect addition to your family. Chanel is a friendly dog who seems to enjoy gentle interactions. She's treat-motivated, taking them gently from your hand (though can get a little snatchy once she’s more comfortable!). While she might be a little shy at first around new people, especially in busy environments, she warms up quickly with treats and positive attention. She walks well on a leash and responds to gentle guidance. She previously lived happily with children and even cats! While she can be a little unsure around new dogs initially, she's shown the ability to be tolerant and even playful after she feels more comfortable. Her previous owner described her as a playful and spoiled dog who still thinks she's a baby! She's used to being indoors and is crate trained. If you're looking for a loving companion who will bring joy to your home, Chanel might just be your girl. Meet her at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm! Additional Notes: Behavior Eval 02/08/2026: Kennel Presentation: Greeted me with a calm and patient body and soft eyes. I put my leash in and allowed her to sniff it for a minute and then I moved it towards her to leash and she backed away. I dropped a few treats and then let her sniff my hand and I leashed her with a big loop with no issue. Leash Skills: On leash, she walked forward hesitantly and responded to my leash pressure. Sociability: In the play yard she had very comfortable and loose body language with me and came right up to me to take treats! She takes them super gently out of my hand. Didn’t seem to know any tricks. She did not actively solicit any pets from me, but was very comfortable in my presence. A little snatchy with treats once more comfortable. Was a little shy when we got to the volunteer office with many new handlers but got much more loose with treats! Super treat motivated! Play: She showed some very mild interest in toys, however never really chased after them, she just watched where they went when I threw them. Dog Interaction: We did a dog meet with a pretty high energy smaller dog. Chanel was conflicted however interested in the interaction. She did some bows, however when they got face-to-face, she will freeze. She doesn’t have a full tail, but it seemed to be in the upright position. As the interaction went on, she got more comfortable, and she was pretty tolerant with the other dog jumping up towards her. However, body language remained tense. Return to Kennel: For returning to kennel she went in easily then tried to back away for unleashing. Color Level: Giving her gold due to some mild fear at first Recommendations and considerations: Video: Chanel hanging out in the room with Sergeant: https://youtu.be/8kU33VuVT3I Chanel takes treats: https://youtu.be/s52NC-U7zrc Sergeant Duke / Chanel pt 1 https://youtu.be/TMVsuGbOhfsSergeant Duke / Chanel pt 2 https://youtu.be/p3WsLtsNyiU Dunkin Midnight / Chanelhttps://youtu.be/icPkUh8Rrgw ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Hi!  My name is Dulce I am looking for a forever home.  Me & a few of my friends were rescued from a pretty bad situation where we lived outside all of the time in a small pen and we were all pretty emaciated and missing most of our hair.  Our initial foster home spent a lot of time doctoring us and giving us lots of good food so now we look really good.  She then reached out to BCAA to see if they could help us all find good homes and they said yes ... yeah!  I appear to be possibly a rottie-hound mix but no one knows for sure as while I weigh a little over 46lbs at around 2 years old, I have short legs so don't look real big when you meet me.  I now have a beautiful black and tan coat which is really thick and has grown back beautifully.  When I first meet new people or go into new situations, I am shy; however, with the 3 T's (time, TLC and treats) I start coming out of my shell and learning I can trust, then I love getting attention and am a "leaner".  I enjoy playing with the other dogs and haven't paid much attention to the cats I've encountered.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bed.  I'm starting to get the leash thing down as I have figured out it means I can be out with you and going on an adventure but some additional training wouldn't hurt.  And talking about training, I really, really love my food and treats which you can use to help me learn new stuff.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Draco's Story Meet Draco 🐾 Draco is a handsome 5-year-old Rottweiler who is looking for a loving new home after being surrendered due to changes in his owner’s living situation. This sweet boy didn’t do anything wrong—he just needs a fresh start with a family who can keep him forever. Draco may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, his affectionate side shines. He loves giving kisses and enjoys spending time with people he trusts. Toys are one of his favorite things, and playtime often includes some gentle, mouthy fun—just his way of playing and showing excitement. He already knows sit and paw, is housebroken, and walks fairly well on leash, though he may pull a bit when he’s eager to explore. Draco gets along well with other dogs and even cats, though very large dogs can be a little intimidating for him at first. Motivated by treats—especially beef jerky snacks—Draco will happily work for rewards and attention. With patience, love, and a cozy place to call home, this loyal boy will make a wonderful companion. Could Draco be the missing piece in your family? 💙🐶 Please apply for Draco at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50
