Story
Meet handsome Zeus. He came in with her housemate Bolckka when their owner became too ill to care for them. We can tell you these 2 incredible dogs were absolutely loved and having to rehome them wasn’t an easy decision. The love shows in their personalities. Zeus is a very sweet affectionate dog but does play rough. He loves snuggles and belly rubs so much sometimes its hard to keep him upright when petting him. We know he reportedly got along well with Blockka. Reuniting this pair at the shelter has been unsuccessful so therefore they will be adopted out separately and Zeus will need to be an only dog. Zeus walks nicely on leash and is eager to please, he is crate trained and well-mannered in the home He does take treats a bit rough and has guarding tendencies with his food bowl so we will not be adopting him out to a home with kids and recommend feeding in his crate.

Story
Meet Remi!Remi is a handsome Rottweiler who’s ready to find a family to call his own. He came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about where he’s been, but we’re focused on helping him find the happy ending he deserves.Remi is a playful, adventurous pup who enjoys getting out and about and seeing what the day brings. When he first meets new people he can be a little shy (hey, he is a rottie after all), but it doesn’t take long for him to warm up - especially if you come prepared with a few of his favorite chicken snacks. Once he opens up, his sweet and fun personality really starts to shine. If you’re a Rottweiler lover, Remi will feel like an old friend in no time. He’s open to meeting other dogs and dog-savvy kids.If you are interested in adopting, stop by our shelter any day between 12-6:30. Please come prepared - bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history._______________The Pennsylvania SPCA350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134Kennel #3079

Story
Videos: Missy meets Zara: https://youtube.com/shorts/hnuTfSvdREo?si=swbrHd0yWLmHB0-b Nike and Missy Meet: https://youtu.be/fWBl0ZbQSds Behavior Notes: Per staff 3/4/26: Kennel Presentation: attempted to get her out earlier in the day, she would come to the front and take a few treats with wide eyes, ears to the side and nub not moving. When i presented the leash she retreated to the back side of her kennel. I tossed a few treats however she stopped eating them. Leash Skills: i closed the guillotine as she was laying down in the backside. I slowly opened the door and looped her pretty easily however going slow is going to be best for her. Once leash was on she came out of kennel slowly. Walked on the leash right next to me with head lowered, hunched back, eyes darting and ears to the side. Sociability: i crouched down and Missy sat only a few inches from me. I slowly reached out my hand and she did not move away. I gently scratched her chest for three second and then stopped. She moved closer to me and i gently gave more pets. Her eyes were soft and wide with a closed mouth. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: on leash with Nike. Missy was avoidant, would not look in Nikes direction and pulled hard in the opposite direction. Return to Kennel: hesitated going in, with light leash pressure went in. Color Level: blue Recommendations and considerations: she is a nervous girl who needs time and a quiet place to decompress. Per staff 3/3/26: Surgery called me to help get missy out to bring her to get spayed. Missy was laying on the bed when I approached her kennel. Eyes were wide with ears forward. She came out the front of the kennel, when I presented the leash she retreated to the back side and began to bark. I had to close the door and called her softly which she came forward. I closed the guillotine door and tried lassoing. She sat in the corner head turned avoidant of eye contact. She did a lot of head shaking (may have something going on with left ear), once leash she came out and pulled mildly on the leash to the back. Nose to the ground the entire time. Was able to have the doctor listen to her and sedate with minimal restraint. Per owner 3/2/26: Surrendered by owner of 4 years due to their dad passing away and them no longer being able to care for her. She lived with adults and a 15 year old, is fully housebroken, not crate trained, high energy, has never bitten, is okay with children, approachable with strangers, not good with cats, and unknown with dogs. They stated that she is a house dog who is used to being around family -- ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Story
Tucker is a young, male Boxer mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart for the people he trusts. He’s social and eager on approach, easy to leash, and loves getting out of his kennel to explore. Tucker enjoys body handling and affection, though he can be easily distracted—there’s just so much going on in the world that catches his attention!Tucker is playful and energetic, especially when toys are involved. He has no issues with food or toy guarding and is happy to share space with people while eating. Squeaky toys are his favorite, and he enjoys interactive play with his handler. When it comes to new situations or unfamiliar people, Tucker can be unsure. He may bark or appear tense at first, especially if something looks or feels unusual, but with patience, calm handling, and positive reinforcement (treats help!), he is able to settle and build trust. Once he feels safe, his curiosity shines through.Tucker will need an experienced, adult-only home committed to continuing his behavior modification work. He is highly reactive to other dogs and must be the only pet in the home—no dogs and no cats. He would do best with adopters who understand fear-based reactivity and are willing to work with a professional trainer to help him feel more confident and secure.**Tucker’s Ideal Home:*** Adults only (no children)* No other dogs or cats* Experienced, patient adopters* Commitment to training and behavior support* A calm, structured environmentWith the right guidance and consistency, Tucker has the potential to be a deeply loyal companion who bonds strongly with his people. If you’re looking for a dog to invest time, understanding, and heart into—and you believe in second chances—Tucker may be your guy.Ask us about Tucker today and see if you’re the match he’s been waiting for.To complete adoption questionnaire: https://hamiltonmcnj.seamlessdocs.com/f/AdoptionApplicationTo see other available animals: https://www.hamiltonnj.com/173/Pets-Available-for-AdoptionHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Story
** RESCUE ONLY ** At about 2 years old and 62 pounds of handsome charm, Dominick is a smart, toy-loving pup who’s ready to find his person. This sweet boy has a soft spot for women and would thrive with an experienced dog owner who understands how to give him structure, patience, and love. He’s looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can feel safe and finally relax.Dominick has been with us since February 2025, and shelter life hasn’t been easy for him. The noise and constant activity make him anxious, and he’s currently on medication to help him cope. Due to a documented bite-history while here at the shelter, Dominick needs a rescue organization willing to transfer him and work on the rehabilitation he desperately needs. If you are with a rescue organization and would like to meet Dominick, please contact the shelter manager, Donielle at DGioia@HamiltonNJ.com.
