Story
Scrappy, about 50 lbs About me: My wrinkles may be minimal, but my heart is huge. I'm playful, affectionate, and always down to make new dog friends or join a game in the yard. But my real love language? Finding the coziest heated blanket in the house and melting into it like the snuggle champion I am. I'll happily switch between playmate and professional cuddle buddy — whatever you need. My résumé: House trained ✅ Know sit, lay down, stay, and leave it ✅ Great with kids ✅ Self-appointed security guard — I take 'protect and serve' seriously and have been known to hop the child gate to greet visitors myself, especially new ones. (The gardeners are still on my watch list, sorry not sorry.) A few honest quirks, because I believe in full transparency on the first date: I pull a little on the leash (working on it). Car rides aren't my favorite — I'll whine the whole way, but I'm otherwise a good passenger. Thunderstorms make me nervous. Baths make me an Olympic sprinter, so we've switched to waterless ones. I can be crated, but I don't really enjoy it and tend to rub my nose. Lately I've just been hanging out loose on dog beds in the living room (and sneaking onto the big bed at night — don't tell). Looking for: Someone who'll keep a close eye on me (I'll be doing the same for you), doesn't mind a co-pilot who narrates every car ride, and has unlimited compliments about how handsome I am. Bonus points for belly rubs. Swipe right and fill out an adoption application if you're ready to be loved fiercely and guarded loyally.  Fostering in the greater Dallas areaAugust 30, 2026, 11:50 am

Story
Meet Aggie, a 6-year-old, 34-pound Shar Pei with a soft heart hidden beneath those beautiful wrinkles. Aggie is naturally timid and unsure about new people, but if you sit quietly with her, she slowly begins to trust—offering gentle kisses and allowing pets. She’s a curious girl who likes to quietly follow her humans around the house, making her a sweet, silent shadow during daily activities. Aggie would thrive with a confident canine companion who can help show her that people are safe. She’s beginning to explore toys, and we think she’ll discover her playful side with a little more time.Aggie also has some classic “wrinkly dog” skin sensitivities and will need an owner who can help her care for her coat and keep her comfortable. This tender-hearted girl just needs patience, love, and stability to truly shine.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Story
I’m the longest resident at the shelter, since February 2025. When I first arrived, I was underweighting and had a pretty bad skin infection. I’m now receiving treatment and an special diet to help me feel my very best and I’m currently in a foster home where I’m getting the love and care I deserve. I’m a very sweet, playful boy who’s ready to find a forever home that will love and take care of me.  I’m mostly indifferent just a little shy around cats. More than anything, I want a family who will give me the security, kindness, and fun I’ve been waiting so long for.” Mason is currently in a foster home please call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more and schedule a meet and greet with him!August 28, 2026, 9:09 pm

Story
We are looking for a loving and caring home for our English Bulldog. This is not an easy decision for us, but unfortunately, we are no longer able to keep him because we do dog sitting, and he does not do very well around other dogs.He is not aggressive. He simply tends to bother and annoy other dogs, which makes it difficult for us to have him around the dogs we care for.He is around 7–8 years old, very calm, sweet, and affectionate. He absolutely loves getting attention and being petted, and he would be happiest in a home where he can relax and receive lots of love.He is house trained, crate trained and will sleep all day if you let him!We really want to find him a good home with someone who understands the breed and can give him the attention and peaceful environment he deserves. ❤️Just to clarify, the original owner moved to another state and couldn’t take him with him. That’s why we took him in a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately, we’re unable to keep him anymore.
