Story
Luna is a mixed breed (likely German Shepherd mixed with collie?) who is energetic, sweet and responsive to training. We want to ensure she finds a home that’s a strong match for her needs and personality, someone who will be able to provide the level of training and outlets for energy that she needs. Luna thrives when she has consistent supervision, engagement, and interaction. She has had a few biting incidents; while the skin was not broken in any case, both we and our trainers believe these were driven by her herding instincts and a desire to play. We’ve invested significantly in her training, including a recent five-week intensive program. Those trainers are willing to work with the new owners to help understand the training protocols that work best for her. We care deeply about Luna and want to make sure this transition is handled as thoughtfully and responsibly as possible.

Story
Kay is a lovely girl who has been coming out of her shell and is turning into a social pup. She bonds quickly to humans and likes to stay very close. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. If you're interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info First, we'll set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, Zoom, or Facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Then, if you feel that Kay might be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will gladly coordinate an up-close and personal meet and greet with your potential family member. Thank you for your support! • I’ve been at the shelter for 30 days or more and weigh over 35 pounds, so the Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services (FoBACS) have SPONSORED MY ADOPTION FEE! I’m a great dog who just needs a chance, and I’m ready to prove that big dogs make the best dogs!

Story
If you’re looking for a gentle soul with eyes that could melt your heart, look no further — Sadie’s your girl! This beautiful pittie sweetheart has the puppy dog eyes mastered and knows exactly how to use them to ask for more belly rubs or cuddles. Sadie’s favorite thing in the world is spending time with her people. Whether it’s curling up beside you for a nap or joining you for a leisurely walk, she’s happiest just being by your side. She walks wonderfully on leash, seems to be housetrained, and has the kind of easygoing charm that makes everyone who meets her fall in love. This loving girl has had a few skin issues, but thanks to some soothing medicated baths, she’s healing beautifully and feeling better every day. With a little TLC, she’ll soon be glowing as much on the outside as she already does on the inside. Sweet, calm, and endlessly affectionate, Sadie is ready to mosey her way right into your heart — and your home.
