Looking for more enthusiasm and positivity in your life? Look no further than King, our resident happy man. He is friendly and excited to meet everyone, human and canine. He will put a smile on your face just with his energy and wiggles. He is a great walker on leash and is very alert to his surroundings. In the playroom, he would rather play with his person than his toys. King enjoys making friends and knows some basic commands. He also appears to be housetrained. Come meet this amazing guy soon before he’s gone.

Story
This is Escrow, a guy whose world was just turned upside down after losing his long-time home. He’s a very sensitive boy who is looking for a couch or a bed to curl up on and someone to dote on him the way he deserves. Escrow is a perfect size (around 30 pounds) and very easy to handle walking on leash, though he doesn’t need too much of that. He’d rather just hang out with you—he’s a perfect companion. Escrow is a tiny bit reserved with new people, but warms up quickly. He also appears comfortable with other dogs and seems extremely housetrained.

Story
If Jambalaya is your comfort food, you need to meet this dog. He's a shy boy at first, very unsure about everything. But he loves treats, and after sharing a few with him, you'll see his wiggly self emerge. Jambalaya doesn’t seem to have too much experience with leash walking, or much of anything else really. He’s also a little shy around other dogs and can be a bit nervous when passing them on leash. He’s a young guy still learning the ropes. But Jambalaya could not be sweeter. He will lean into you for pets, and his favorite thing (once he's comfortable with you) is to sit between your legs with his back to you for long, soothing pets. This boy is a real love bug, and appears to be housetrained.

Story
Cupcake will steal your heart when you are not looking. She is extremely shy at first, and takes time to trust new people. But if you take the extra time to get to know her, she will reward you ten times over. She’s still easily spooked by new things – we don’t think she had much exposure to much of anything in the past. So the sights and sounds (in particular) of the shelter are still a little intimidating. But once Cupcake gets a little comfortable, we can start to see glimpses of who she really is. She comes out of her shell a lot when playing with other dogs – she is very dog-friendly. Cupcake would love to go to a home with another dog to show her the ropes. And she hugs tight to people she trusts. Are you her person? She hopes so!

Kay is a lovely girl who has been coming out of her shell and is turning into a social pup. She bonds quickly to humans and likes to stay very close. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. If you're interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info First, we'll set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, Zoom, or Facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Then, if you feel that Kay might be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will gladly coordinate an up-close and personal meet and greet with your potential family member. Thank you for your support!

I'm a super fun girl with a happy zest for life and love in my new home! I'm an active girl, although please know I am recovering from patella surgery (and doing great!), so let's take things slow for now. As I get up to speed over the next months, I can't wait  for engaging walks in the neighborhood, adventures in the park or maybe even the beach sound great to me! Add in some cool toys to enjoy, and in time let's toss some balls and see if I retrieve (I'll keep you guessing)! Of course, belly rubs and snuggles are without a doubt a must for me, so let's get started on our joy ride through life now! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Tan Age: 1yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Hi there! My name is Arlo and I'm a 5 year old, neutered male pit bull that currently weighs about 44lbs.  I'm a timid boy that's still learning about the great big world.  I would do best with a family that has experience with dogs that are still working on impulse control and sharing.  I hope to be a proper gentleman so I'll need plenty of training.  I'm a sweet boy that already knows sit and absolutely adores all the treats which will definitely help with my continued training. I walk well on leash and happily stay close to my handler.  After exercising, I like to flop over in my person's arms for kisses and cuddles.  P.S. Kongs are the best thing in the world, especially if they have some peanut butter in them!  I love the spotlight so I prefer to be the only pet in the household. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Arlo!  ID# A940198 Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions:  11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week  Adoptions will be done on a first come, first served basis. Please note for walk-ins, if the animal you are interested in has other appointments, he/she may not be available for you to meet. Story
Hello everyone, my name is Rocky! I'm a 4 year old, 53 lbs., neutered male Pitbull mix who is a whirlwind of energy and excitement. I tend to be an independent boy who is happy to do his own thing and I of course love running zoomies in the yard. I am working on my manners and will need my new family's help to become a perfect pup. I would love to meet the whole family and of course any resident dog before going home. I recently went on a field trip with my favorite volunteer. This is what they had to say about our day together:  'Rocky was amazingly sweet today on his offsite with me, he was so so so happy to explore and be outside watching birds and smell the fresh air. In the car he tried to jump on the front seat, but I told him no, and he did not try again. Very good boy.' Nice to meet you, my name is Teddy! I am a 1 year old, 70 lbs., neutered male Pitbull mix. I'm an energetic, playful young boy with a lot of spunk! I'm friendly and eager to please. I'm looking for a family that is going to play with me and is ready to work on my training and socialization. I love playing with toys and am an all around silly guy. If you are looking for one happy, wiggly new friend than I'm the boy for you!  I would do best in a home with older kids that have been around rambunctious boys like me. So I would love to meet the whole family including any resident dogs before going home. I come on strong so I would do best with dogs that can match my energy! Hi, my name is Alize! I am a 1 year old, 50 lbs, spayed female Pitbull mix. I'm a whirlwind of energetic hilariousness. I loving running, chasing and playing; sometimes I try to do all three at once! I do a great sit and love to play fetch, in fact I think the tennis ball is the best invention in the world! While I may know how to sit with the best of them; I still need to work on my overall manners but I'm ready and willing to learn!  Because of my happy, excited nature I would do best with a household with kids 8+.  I'm a silly girl who can't wait to say hello to everyone, friendliness is what I'm all about.    Alize ID# A934858 Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions:  11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week  Adoptions will be done on a first come, first served basis. Please note for walk-ins, if the animal you are interested in has other appointments, he/she may not be available for you to meet. Hi friends, my name is Chicken Nugget! I am a 1 year old, neutered Pitbull/mastiff mix that currently weighs about 60lbs. I'm still a young boy which means I may continue growing for a bit longer. I am an energetic ball of fun and happiness. I love romping about and playing but can be a love bug when I feel like it. I'm still working on my manners and patience and would love help with that! My ideal home would be with a family that has kids that are 10+ and are familiar with big dogs with big personalities. I'd like to meet the whole family including any resident dogs before going home. Hercules the goofball is waiting to meet you. He is very friendly and outgoing, loving affection from his human friends. He is also happy to get out and about, but is not accustomed to walking on leash yet. He basically wants to go where he wants to go, mostly to sniff. He is also very strong, so his new family should be prepared for that. Mainly Hercules wants attention – that is the most fun thing for him. He’d love to be your lap dog if you’ll allow it. He'd also love to have a back yard of his own - he did not acclimate well to apartment living. He also appears housetrained and dog friendly.
