Joni was brought in to Oakland Animal Services as a stray originally but these days she loves nothing more than cuddles, belly rubs, blanket naps, and sun bathing. She loves love, takes treats oh so gently, gives out sweet kisses, looks into your eyes with a grin, and enjoys afternoon playtime. She is still getting the hang of walking on a leash without pulling and she’s making progress each day with training. She is still getting used to how stimulating everything is on a walk. She does "sit, wait, release" at mealtime and will do 'sit' 'shake' and 'down' for treats. She does have a strong prey drive, like a true terrier breed and is showing signs of dog reactivity. She needs behavioral training for this to help her long term. At OAS she was in a play group with big dogs so she might do well with bigger dogs after slow introductions. She’s a special spirit with a lot of love to give and receive for the right home.

She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home.
