Story
Rudy is a joyful, playful, and deeply affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with his people and loves being close to them. He was adopted as a puppy from ARF in Walnut Creek and is now 5 years old. Rudy truly shines when he’s out on walks, exploring the world, or joyfully chasing a ball during a game of fetch in wide open fields. After playtime, he’s more than happy to settle in and cuddle up next to his favorite person. Rudy does have some dog reactivity while on leash, but this is manageable with consistent training, structure, and positive reinforcement. He would thrive best in a calm, adult-only home where he can receive plenty of attention, patience, and love. In the right environment, Rudy will be a loyal, loving, and devoted companion who brings warmth and happiness to everyday life

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereKris is an 8-year-old, 70-pound sweetheart who may be a senior on paper, but he’s got the athleticism and enthusiasm of a younger dog. He’s playful and can catch a ball midair like an absolute champ. If fetch is your love language, Kris is already fluent! His foster family reports Kris is the definition of easy. He’s fully potty trained, relaxed, and happy to entertain himself with toys or settle in beside you once he’s had his fun. He has wonderful house manners and has an all-around good-natured temperament. He knows cues like sit, enjoys learning, and loves pleasing his people. He’s excellent on leash, making walks smooth and enjoyable. He’s curious and loves exploring, but always with a calm, steady energy. Kris was a family dog before arriving at the shelter, and you can feel how ready he is to be part of a home again. He’d be happy as your one-and-only companion or potentially a good match for another mellow dog. This smiley gentleman can’t wait to meet the new family he’ll love forever. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereRonan is an 8-month-old, 33-pound pittie mix with a compact build and a big, lovable personality. She’s a friendly, playful pup who enjoys zoomies and toy time, but also knows how to relax and hang out quietly once her energy is spent. This affectionate girl absolutely loves people and is happiest soaking up attention. She’s treat-motivated, already knows “sit,” and is making steady progress with potty training. Ronan can be left home alone, isn’t much of a barker, and generally makes good choices (with a little puppy mischief now and then!). Ronan is calm and polite around other dogs, often more interested in the humans, and would do well as a solo dog with dog friends or with a well-matched canine companion. Like many puppies, she can be a bit mouthy so a home without young kids would be ideal. With continued positive-reinforcement training and socialization, Ronan is going to grow into an amazing companion. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAt 7 years old and 65 pounds, Cappy is a handsome senior with quiet confidence and charm. He was found tied up outside the shelter with many wounds. All healed now, he's enjoying the comforts of his foster home while he waits for his forever family. His foster reports he’s an excellent house guest! This sweet boy is house-trained and caught on to his routine quickly. He’ll even let you know when it’s time to go out. His favorite place? Curled up next to his humans on a comfy couch. He sleeps soundly through the night and loves a little sunbathing during the day. Cappy has arthritis, likely from an old injury, so he keeps things low-key. Gentle strolls, soft beds, and lots of love are all he needs. He’s great on leash and enjoys short “sniffaris” around the block. When it comes to other dogs, Cappy is generally calm and polite with those his size, though he might be too much for smaller pups. With slow introductions, or as your one-and-only, he’ll shine. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion with soulful eyes and a wise, sweet spirit, Cappy could be your match.
