She needs some training but she is a very sweet loyal dog. She is good in the house, she does not chew or destruct, she is house trained, she has spent time in a crate so she is used to it. She is strong and so needs some leash training and socialization. But she will make a great companion for someone willing to put in a little work to train her and give her the exercise she needs. Babe Lincoln was adopted from the Contra Costa Animal Shelter. He walked right up to my partner and me and threw himself down on our feet to receive some loving. It was love at first sight. He is about 3 years old and loves to play, fetch, swim, and snuggle. Everyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him. He is a very happy and goofy boy. He loves to be pet and loves to give kisses. He enjoys swimming at the beach or in a pool. He is great at fetch, although he is still learning to surrender the ball. He is great on a leash and rarely pulls, even when other dogs are present. He is a people dog and gets along with all the dogs he has come into contact with. He does great off-leash at the park and on hiking trails. The best home would be one where he is the only dog, but not required, he is currently 1 of 3. He will need someone who can give him regular exercise like a daily walk, but loves to cuddle and be a slug.

He is a fantastic companion, loves the car, other dogs, cats, good with strangers, and going places. He's a puppy, estimated to be 6mos -12 mos. He is outgoing and so happy at all times when he's with people. He does suffer from separation anxiety that makes him a best fit for a home that ideally has another dog to keep him company or an owner who can work with him. I have only short time left due to my work schedule and living arrangements, I will have to turn him over to a shelter, where he was previously scheduled to be euthanized. I was fostering Goomp who is a special needs pitbull, when the shelter decided to euthanize him. He's just a puppy in need a finding the right home, but this shelter felt they couldn't give him the time needed and schedule his death. I couldn't stand by and let that happen so I agreed to take him. This is not a long term solution so I am posting in hopes of finding him his forever home.

She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. Cupcake will steal your heart when you are not looking. She is extremely shy at first, and takes time to trust new people. But if you take the extra time to get to know her, she will reward you ten times over. She’s still easily spooked by new things – we don’t think she had much exposure to much of anything in the past. So the sights and sounds (in particular) of the shelter are still a little intimidating. But once Cupcake gets a little comfortable, we can start to see glimpses of who she really is. She comes out of her shell a lot when playing with other dogs – she is very dog-friendly. Cupcake would love to go to a home with another dog to show her the ropes. And she hugs tight to people she trusts. Are you her person? She hopes so!

If Jambalaya is your comfort food, you need to meet this dog. He's a shy boy at first, very unsure about everything. But he loves treats, and after sharing a few with him, you'll see his wiggly self emerge. Jambalaya doesn’t seem to have too much experience with leash walking, or much of anything else really. He’s also a little shy around other dogs and can be a bit nervous when passing them on leash. He’s a young guy still learning the ropes. But Jambalaya could not be sweeter. He will lean into you for pets, and his favorite thing (once he's comfortable with you) is to sit between your legs with his back to you for long, soothing pets. This boy is a real love bug, and appears to be housetrained.

Kai is a big strong guy who is a little uncertain about strangers at first. He will need a special home willing to handle his strength and also his quirky personality. Treats help warm him up initially. Once he knows you, he’s your best friend and very loyal. He’s also playful and tons of fun; he’d rather play with his people than any toys. Kai also loves to walk and just being outside. He loves to check out what’s going on and to sniff around. Kai is also not the biggest fan of other dogs passing too close, but it’s manageable if you are also strong enough to handle him – he does look to his person for direction a lot. But he will still need to work on his skills with other dogs. He also seems extremely housetrained in the shelter environment.
