Story
Animal Profile: Kimber is a beautiful 5-year-old, 54 lb female German Shepherd who was found wandering as a stray and taken to Everett Animal Shelter. When the shelter environment was too stressful for her, we gave her a "jail break" and she's now in our foster care. Kimber has been waiting for a forever home since November 2021. Please share and help her find her forever family! Foster Update: Kimber is affectionate and bonds quickly with her person. She is looking for an adopter who is experienced with high-energy dogs and is willing to continue working with her. She loves lounging in the house watching out the windows. Her ideal home environment would be an adult-only household with working breed experience and a securely fenced yard. She has completed a 4-week board and train program with Lugaru K9 Training to address leash reactivity. Kimber can now walk nicely on leash and knows the following commands: sit, down, place, heel and leave it. She's not a candidate for dog parks as she easily gets over aroused and needs slow introductions to other dogs.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-applicationApril 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  TAKE HOME TRAINING SESSION INCLUDED WITH ADOPTION Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Freya was found as a stray in Dec 2020 in Tacoma extremely underweight (40 lbs) and very scared. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Jazzy is a 15-month-old female German Shepherd  who -- along with her three siblings -- was abandoned in eastern WA and taken in by Quincy Animal Shelter. They were transferred and will be fostered in Seattle to learn crate and house training, basic obedience and social skills. We will share more as we get to know Jazzy in foster care.   Foster Update: Jazzy is a beautiful German Shepherd puppy with the personality to match! She is an active girl who would love to go on adventures with you. She loves people and always wants to be by your side. She especially likes to sleep cuddled up next to someone. Jazzy is dog friendly and likes to play outside with her foster dog brothers. If you're looking for an active pup who will want to be your best friend and adventure buddy, Jazzy's a wonderful girl! She will do best in a home with large-breed dog experience, a securely fenced yard, and another dog in the home. Jazzy is interested in cats, and wants to chase them so may be best if there are no cats in the home.  Adoption Info:  The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: This animal was dumped at less than 4 months in Mattawa WA and taken into Quincy Animal Shelter; WSU was able to provide vetting and they arrived to Dog Gone Seattle Foster care on Thursday 3/9/23. S/he will be available for adoption to the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.   April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Animal Proflie: Petra is an estimated 4-to-5-year-old 70 lb (but fit!) spayed female German Shepherd who is sadly in need of a new home, due to no fault of her own. This wonderful girl is the Trifecta -- good with dogs, cats, and kids. She has lived happily with her family until her older owner got Long Covid and then an unexpected cancer diagnosis, which left them feeling like they couldn't give her the attention and exercise she needed. Upon evaluation, Petra was social and friendly meeting strangers including children, and has positive interactions and experience with kids as young as five. She is friendly and non-reactive with other dogs. She is playful with cats -- not aggressive -- and would love to groom them, but would be overwhelming for a cat that was not dog savvy. She does pull on leash if allowed and will require a confident handler. She is house-trained and crate-trained though she is non-destructive outside of the crate. She currently doesn't get much exercise and would probably enjoy more. She has no known health issues, no food intolerances or known allergies, and no sign of any orthopedic issues. This girl is truly a gem and we are so looking forward to finding her a loving home for the rest of her days.  Foster Update:  Petra  is settling in well and is very sweet! She is generally calm in her crate and is happy to snuggle up with her people. She is high-energy so will be best with adopters who are active and have time to tire her out. She enjoys playing with the other dogs at her foster's and would love another playful dog in her forever home. Since settling into her foster home,   Petra has demonstrated some territorial behaviors and general nervousness with meeting new people .   We believe she will do best in a Shepherd-savvy home.   Petra is such a sweet girl who would love a home with an active family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550.:Petra is spayed, up to date with core vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchipped, and has a recent visit with a veterinarian . Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Petra was rescued from Visalia Animal Shelter in 2021 by K9R&R and adopted to an older couple in Washington. She has lived with them for the last two years but now due to medical reasons can no longer provide the level of care they desire, and K9R&R cannot take her back. So she is with Dog Gone Seattle in foster care and will be available for adoption to the greater Seattle area. April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Rush - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Rush is an Old English word meaning 'weaver' usually using the reeds known as rushes. And let me tell you, that name suits me as I'm a real pro at weaving...weaving my way right up into your heart!!! I'm a youngster coming in at around 6 months. What a perfect age to be your lil spongey sidekick...soaking up everything! I'm affectionate with people both tall and small, get on good with the other foster pups but haven't met any of those strange creatures y'all call a cat yet. Being active and playful I'd do great in a home with another playful 'sibling' or as your adventure buddy getting all the attention. I come in at right around 36lbs and will make a fabulous mediumish size boy to share in all your activities whether it's monitoring your yardwork skills to making sure you have a blast on our action packed adventures. Whatever is your preference I'm game on giving it a whirl!! My beautiful short coat is low in the maintenance department making me more of a wash-n-go type of fella. Perfect for being ready to go at the drop of a hat!! I've got a moderate energy level which will require some daily exercise and playtime but with that in I should do just fine in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. Are you in need of a BFF to share in all your daily going on's? A sidekick to be by your side for those action adventures? A cohort in crime. hehehe I can be that, no problem!? OMGosh, that sound just like you're searching for ME!!! Stop scrolling and hurry to fill out my adoption application and we can be on our way to having sooooo much fun!!

Odin is two years old. He’s extremely good with kids. He’s good with other animals but does like to bark when being walked. He has a tendency to pull when any walk first starts because he’s excited. Loves to play and run outside. Rehoming due to the fact he doesn’t have a backyard and we’re not there often enough to take him out to go potty.

Story
Toby is a 5-6 year old, 90-100lb Shepherd mix who is looking for his perfect forever home. Toby was abused in his past and due to this will need a very specific family. He is very sweet and loyal with his people once he is bonded. Toby is looking for a home that has a fully fenced yard out of the city. Somewhere rural and quiet would be perfect for him! He prefers women to men and can take some time to trust men. His ideal home would be female only, but could do ok with a female/male couple if the man was patient and could build trust with him. Toby needs a home without kids and other animals. No other dogs or cats. Toby can walk fine on leash around other dogs but needs to be the only dog in the home. Toby loves to run and play and will love to spend time with his people in his backyard soaking up the sun and running around. Toby is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Animal Profile: Buttercup is a 2-year-old, 55 lb spayed female "Texas Brown Dog" who joined us from Texas on 7/15/22 as an unsure adolescent. We have worked diligently with her in training to improve her confidence so she can be successful in her forever home. Foster Update: This young and energetic girl will do anything for a treat and very much wants to please her humans. She is building confidence; however, her anxious energy translates to reactivity at times. Off-leash she greets humans with excitement or indifference both in the house and the yard. She is doing well with the three large resident male dogs in the house after structured integration. She can play all day and has benefited from dog companions who can gently correct and/or join in her exuberance, as well as lead her in confident appropriate behaviors. She is potty trained and crate trained and often goes into her crate on her own to relax. While in foster care, Buttercup has received training from Bulletproof Balanced Training; her adopter will receive a private take-home training session. This girl is destined to be a wonderful loving member of her forever pack. Adopter Profile: Adult-only household Large breed experience preferred Secure fenced yard preferred Other dogs preferred (not required) Cat testing available for approved applicants Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test for dogs 6 months and older, and microchip. Story
Animal Profile: King is an estimated 1-year 5-month-old 74 lb neutered male Malinois who was a stray intake to the Moreno Valley animal shelter and assessed to be friendly with dogs and people (albeit a bit unruly and in need of training). After over two months in the shelter environment with no interest, he became increasingly frustrated and was red-listed for "kennel stress." We have pulled him and we will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.   * King has been in foster care with On the Mark Balanced Training * Foster Updates:  King is a goofy, high-energy, friendly boy! He absolutely loves people and is a confident boy -- he has not been scared or hesitant about anything he’s come across so far. He is calm and quiet in his kennel, goes in on command, and waits to be released. He would do well in an active home that likes running or long walks. We think he would also love to try dog sports such as agility, nosework or dock diving. He likes to play ball and rolls upside down with his ball when he needs a break from running. He is neutral with other dogs and when allowed to interact off-leash does want to play (though he is a bit oblivious to other dogs' cues so would do best with tolerant playmates). He has learned to walk nicely on the leash and is doing well with the place command. He is currently being fostered by On the Mark Balanced Training and will come with a take home lesson to teach you how to walk him with a nice loose leash and a place command. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: King was a stray intake to Moreno Valley animal shelter on January 16, and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle, arriving to Seattle area foster care on 2/18. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm
