Story
Animal Information: Niley is a 1-year-old female Shepsky mix with striking eyes and a beautiful coat. She’s friendly with both people and other dogs, but found herself at risk for euthanasia due to her extended stay at the shelter and the kennel stress that came with it. That environment can be especially tough on dogs like Niley, so once we had a committed foster in place, we were able to step in and save her life. Foster Profile:   Niley is still a bit shy but very sweet and friendly! She’s a gentle dog who is interested in playing with other dogs, but nothing too rough and tumble. Niley is a bit more human motivated than a typical Husky and comes and leans in for pats . She has the typical energy level of a young Husky, but is able to calm down better than expected. Niley sometimes makes noises or yips when she is put back in the crate or if there is a lot of action she doesn't get to participate in, but she calms after a few minutes. With structure I think she'll get the rest of crate training pretty fast. She sleeps through the night in her crate without issue. She is still a little confused by the leash but she kinda goes with the flow and will start walking with you or following leash pressure.   I think Niley will really benefit from ongoing structure and consistent training; breed experience is a plus! More to come as this sweet girl settles in. Medical Note: Shortly after her arrival to Seattle, Niley developed some difficulty walking and balance issues. She has been evaluated by our vet without definitive diagnosis, however, has improved on oral medication. We believe she will need ongoing medication and will benefit from adopters comfortable managing these issues. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Story
Animal Information: Zoey is a 6 year old, 60 pound German Shepherd mix in need of a new home. She was adopted from Kitsap Humane Society three years ago and has been waiting over a year to be rehomed. Her current owner is moving due to health reasons, and Zoey is now confined to a crate most of the day with only brief breaks. She has lived with a cat, but her limited time outside the crate makes it unclear how well she is fully integrated. Zoey is house trained, crate trained, and has basic obedience skills. She is dog friendly. She is social with people and seeks out attention. Zoey would do best with an adopter who has experience with large breeds or shepherd type dogs. Foster Profile:  This girl is so incredibly sweet! All owner surrenders break my heart a bit, but she’s just been such a delight already to have with us, and will make such a great companion for a lucky person or family. She’s got that sugar face already at 5 years old, but it's so clear she’s still got young dog energy. She likes to play fetch and run around, but has a chill mode too. She’s not underfoot, but she likes to know where you are and be near. Her personality reminds me a little of a classic lab meets GSD, a little goofy, sweet, and energetic, but also very smart, clever, and quick. She seems to like water as she has plopped herself in our very small, decorative pond quite a few times already.  Zoey is crate and potty trained, and already knows sit, laydown, and kennel up. We’re working on leash training as she is a strong girl who can really pull, but she is responding well to a training collar. We think she would be fine as an only dog, as she really loves her people. However, given how she has been following around our resident dog, Theo, and booping him on the butt to get him to play, we think she would also be so happy to have a pal who wants to play with her! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when her owner had a chance of living arrangement. She is arriving to foster care as soon as we secure a foster home and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 13, 2026, 7:15 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Rico is a 6-year-old (DOB 10/1/2019), 80 lb neutered male German Shepherd with a very sad story looking for a brighter future. He seems older than his years, due to his history of neglect, but he is now safe in foster care and getting the TLC he will need to thrive. Rico has some chronic skin issues that are improving, but will need ongoing supportive care with quality food and supplements. He will also need a structured exercise regimen to promote muscle growth and weight loss. Rico is open to connection with a human -- you can see it in his eyes. He has no aggressive tendencies with humans or dogs but is just awkward with interaction. You can see he wants to do it! He is house trained (with regular access to potty breaks) and crate trained, and has quickly learned some basic obedience such as sit and heel in foster care. He does not have any reactivity on leash but does pull without a prong collar. He seems to have some prey drive for toys (which will be helpful for connection and his spirit!) and cars. We will test him with cats and share that info. More updates as we get to know him.  Animal History: Rico was purchased from Tannerhaus GSD, a "reputable breeder" (we DO NOT recommend) that advertises they take their dogs back, but when Rico's senior owner had to move to assisted living, the breeder did not uphold the contract. Rico's family discovered that Rico had not been let outside regularly in years, was forced to potty in the house, and did not have regular access to water; he was more of a well-fed houseplant with limited mental or physical stimulation, or even touch. His owner's family could not find placement for him and moved him to a kennel where he stayed for months and developed skin issues, including a systemic fungal infection. When they could no longer afford to kennel him, they reached out and we could not refuse to help him. Rico found emergency placement with The Good Dog Way in Bellingham (6/9/2025) and began his journey to recovery. He is now in foster care in Bothell and making great progress. He is available for adoption to the greater Seattle area, though we are continuing to work on his physical and mental condition. We will update his profile as he progresses.  Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $575 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian.   Animal Information: Cupid is an estimated 6 month old male, 56 pound German Shepherd/Malinois mix. Cupid is the Roman god of love. He was found as a stray with his mom and 9 siblings. He had been at the Devore animal shelter for 2 weeks and was on the euth listed due to space. Thanks to a Seattle area foster stepping up to take the family in, they were all saved. We will share more about Cupid, his mom and siblings as they settle in. Foster Profile: C upid is pure, gentle love wrapped in the sweetest package. Of all the God Litter puppies, he’s the calmest soul in the bunch; quietly observant, thoughtfully taking in the world around him before leaning in for affection. He has a soft, engaging presence that draws people right to him. His signature move? The tiniest little tongue “belp” that makes a regular appearance in photos, a small detail that somehow captures his whole tender personality. Cupid truly hasn’t met a stranger. He charmed everyone at our recent adoption event, happily soaking up attention and offering tail wags to new friends like he’d known them forever. We absolutely adore this soulful, social little dude.  Home with securely fenced yard and breed experience preferred. We will not be considering apartments for these puppies.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Animal Information: Ranger is an estimated 6.5 year-old male German Shepherd mix currently weighing approximately 60bs. It appears that Ranger had been in the shelter in 2019 and then returned recently.  Foster Profile:  Ranger is a gentle boy who is settling in well. I gave him a bath the day he arrived and he seemed to love it, didn’t fight me at all, and even laid his head on my leg at one point! He is friendly with dogs and people and seems to love attention. It took a few days of walks together, but he has started playing with my resident dog which is great to see! He is generally calm inside, though he does enjoy playing with toys, and now that the two dogs are playing there has been a little friendly wrestling inside as well.  Ranger walks well on leash and hasn’t shown any reactivity to people or other dogs on our walks. He doesn’t seem to need a ton of exercise and is doing well with a walk or two a day. Ranger is house trained and we are working on crate training. Although he does prefer to be with his people, he will sleep through the night in his crate, and is making progress on settling when alone. Overall, Ranger is a calm, gentle boy who will make a great addition to a lucky PNW family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
It breaks our hearts to have to part ways with Jack, because he truly is an amazing dog. He is incredibly smart, loving, and well-behaved. Jack knows commands like sit, lay down, roll over, give paw, and give kisses. He very rarely jumps on people, and if he gets overly excited, a simple reminder is enough for him to calm down. He absolutely loves playing fetch and going on walks. He does not chew on things and knows commands like going back inside. He has been around our family through the birth of all three of our children and has always been gentle and good with them. He was also great with our cat. We are hoping to find someone who can give him the attention and love he deserves — someone who will take him on daily walks, play fetch with him, and truly make him part of the family. He deserves a home where he will continue to be deeply loved and cared for. And one important thing about Jack — his birthday is July 14, and he definitely deserves birthday gifts. 🩷

Story
Animal Profile: Looking for a partner in crime? Meet Felon! He's a neutered male Belgian Malinois that is around 18 months old, 55 lbs, and is ready for a person to call his own. Despite his menacing name, this boy is a bundle of joy in a svelte package. Felon loves to go at full speed and would be a fantastic companion for someone looking to get into dog sports -- dock diving, barn hunt, IPO -- he wants a shot to shine! In typical Malinois form, he is highly intelligent, loyal, and athletic. He shows moderate food drive and high toy drive and is an exceptionally quick learner. He does have an off switch and is content to chill on place command with a stuffy toy, or in his crate. Felon is very friendly meeting new people and has lived with other dogs as well as cats, but will be best in a cat-free home. Felon has a strong grasp of basic obedience training including recall, place and loose leash walking. With this foundation he's ready to shine with a family dedicated to providing ongoing mental and physical stimulation, structure and leadership.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Adopter Profile: Large breed dog experience required Working breed dog experience preferred Other dogs of similar size OK No small dogs or cats Secure fenced yard preferred Interest in training/dog sports  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Felon's adoption will include a go-home training session to set his future family up for success. The adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non profit organization. Animal History: Felon was rescued from a chain in Baton Rouge Louisana by Trample Dog Rescue and taken in by The Good Dog, who relocated to Bellingham. He is currently being fostered by The Good Dog Way in Bellingham and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. Potential adopters will need to be available to meet Felon in Bellingham, WA.June 13, 2026, 7:15 pm
