Story
Kenzie (female) is about 14 years old and a very calm dog (we always called her the Zen dog). She loves going for walks, still walks really well, and does her potty outside. However, because she is old, I put a doggie diaper on her just in case she has any incontinence with peeing (sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't). She is VERY loveable and likes to sleep a lot. She would be great for a one pet household with no kids (small kids/babies can startle her and she can react if caught off guard). She’s not an aggressive dog but can get territorial if there are other dogs in the house (she's fine with cats). She has early kidney disease so she’s on a special diet (Royal Canin Renal Support), and has mild back pain but still can jump up and down from furniture. I can no longer take care of her as I have moved to a senior apartment. I love her so much and hope to rehome her vs euthanasia.

Story
Coco is the sweetest dog ever! He is pretty chill, loves to cuddle and definitely loves to go outdoors. His favorite toy would have to be a tennis ball. Coco would be perfect for anyone looking for a companion and a loving home.

Story
INeed some love in your life? Meet our beautiful and sweet Sammie. She is 1.5-year-old, 10 pound, white and brown, Shih Tzu. She has an expressive face that will melt your heart! She came to us as a stray and never claimed by an owner. She spent a couple of cold months living in a vineyard before being caught. She was completely matted and had to be shaved. No more neglect for this girl! She will require regular professional grooming. Her ideal home will include an active person who works from home and is with her most of the time. She is the ultimate companion dog and she is a good size to go everywhere you do! Sammie walks well on leash and wants to ride in your lap in the car. She uses potty pads here at the sanctuary. She goes outside to do her business with the command "go potty". Sammie is scheduled to be spayed and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Because of her small size no children under 10 years of age please. Are you ready to love this sweet girl? Sammie is ready for the beautiful life she deserves. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
