Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $850 Meet the Fabric Litter!  These 8 week old Shih Tzu–Yorkie mix puppies—Satin, Angora, and Cashmere—are as soft and sweet as their names suggest. Non-shedding and they’re ready to join loving homes where they can continue to grow into confident, happy companions. Though they’re naturally on the shy side, each one has a distinct personality that’s beginning to shine: Satin is the little spark plug of the group—playful, bold, and always ready to stir up a game of chase or a wrestling match. She has no trouble asking for attention and absolutely loves belly rubs. Angora is the mellow soul. Quiet and calm, she enjoys hanging nearby and soaking in the action from the sidelines. While she used to snuggle into her foster’s leg to hide during playtime, she’s now more confident and holds her own when her sisters get rowdy. Cashmere, the largest of the three, is also the most adventurous. She’s a smart little explorer and constantly sizing up the pen for an escape route (she hasn’t made it out, but she’s definitely trying!). Her signature move? A dramatic full-body sprawl known as the “sloot.” These girls spend their days playing, chewing toys, and napping in cozy puppy piles. They’re currently on a routine that includes breakfast around 9 a.m., afternoon chill time in the sun, evening play sessions, and lights out by 9:30 p.m. They're doing well with potty pad training and are impressively clean for a group of tiny wrestlers. Important Adoption Note: Although these pups were raised together, they will be adopted individually. We do not place littermates in the same home to avoid littermate syndrome and ensure each puppy bonds and thrives as a confident, independent companion. The Ideal Home  Each of these puppies would do well in a home that offers: Patience, structure, and positive reinforcement Ongoing socialization and training Plenty of time for play, cuddles, and confidence-building Our Favorite Things  Satin’s confident belly-up demands for attention Angora’s quiet snuggles and peaceful presence Cashmere’s scheming looks and determined attempts to jailbreak These sweet, spunky pups are ready to weave themselves into the hearts of their forever families. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 14th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $600 Meet Lumi – Sweet, Sensitive, and Ready for Her Match Age: 4 years old Breed: Shih Tzu x Poodle Weight: 18 lbs Coat: Non-shedding, low-allergy (and yes, ridiculously cute) Lumi is soft. In her coat, in her personality, and in the way she looks at you when she’s figuring out if you’re her person. She’s not the kind of dog who bursts into a room like a party cannon—but give her a little time and consistency, and she’ll be the quiet, loving shadow at your side. She’s the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a calm, cozy home and appreciates the little wins—like when she hops onto the couch for a cuddle or greets you with her signature dorky, toothy grin and full-body tail wiggle. Why Lumi might be your perfect match: She's crate trained and potty trained (occasional accidents, but she has had a lot of change!) She’s affectionate, cuddly, and happiest when she knows she’s safe She doesn't need a ton of exercise—she’d take lounging in a sunny spot over a dog park any day She’s food motivated and responds really well to calm guidance She does best as the only dog, soaking up all the love, but is non-reactive when in the presence of other dogs, such as passing them on a walk What kind of home suits her best? Lumi thrives with people who give her consistency and routine. Maybe you’ve just settled into your first apartment, working remotely, walking to your favorite café, building your own rhythm—and now you’re looking for the perfect dog to join you in that next chapter. Lumi could be that dog. She’s not looking for chaos or a crowd, but she’s totally content with a life of walks, couch time, and quiet company. She would do best in a home without young kids but is fine around teens, and while she can pass by dogs just fine, she prefers to be the star of your show at home. From her foster: “Lumi has been very cooperative and agreeable during her stay. Even when a few dogs barked at her on a walk, she didn’t lose her cool. You could tell she noticed, but she kept her composure. That’s who she is—when she feels supported, she rises to the occasion.” Bottom line: Lumi doesn’t need fixing. She just needs the right match—someone who will meet her where she is and appreciate her gentle spirit. She's the kind of dog who builds a quiet, deep bond that gets better every day. She’s not for everyone, but she might be just right for you.June 18, 2025, 1:03 pm
