Story
Scout, is a 10-year-old shih tzu mix who started life in a puppy mill, making her a bit shy around humans. But when it comes to dogs—especially Sophie—Scout is all in. Scout enjoys walks alongside Sophie, though she prefers to avoid grass.Sophie is potty-trained, while Scout prefers using a potty pad due to lingering effects from her early life. Her BFF Sophie, a 9-year-old beagle mix, is the ultimate social butterfly—she adores dogs, cats, people, and even carrots! She’s happiest on a stroll but also enjoys neighborhood watch duty from her favorite cozy spot. Though she was recently diagnosed with diabetes, she’s doing well with insulin management. Both pups are up to date on vaccines and looking for a home filled with love. Can you give this loveable, bonded pair a safe space? If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or fostering to adopt these besties, we`d love to hear from you!

Story
Jet came to us through our friends at Animal Rescue Corps. She was rescued from Oklahoma along with 62 other dogs discarded by a puppy mill. If you`re looking for a laid-back pup to cuddle up next to you on the couch Jet would be your kind of pooch! She`s still figuring out how to walk on a leash, but it`s only because she would rather be close to you. Either she`ll be walking behind you with her face smushed up against your legs, or she`ll cut in front of you to beg for some loving! And how can you resist those big doe eyes?Give Helping Paws a call to schedule an appointment with Jet and find out if she`ll be a good fit for your home! D.O.B: 10-8-21

Story
Meet Our Shih Tzu Six-Pack!These six tiny Shih Tzu puppies were born right in our rescue after we saved their sweet pregnant momma. Thanks to a safe place, good care, and lots of love, all six babies have grown into healthy, social, snuggly little pups who are now ready to find their forever families! Their momma will be spayed soon and available for adoption as wellshe deserves a loving home just as much as her babies. Each puppy has their own personality, but they all share the same Shih Tzu charm: playful zoomies, gentle cuddles, and those irresistible little faces. Theyre being well-socialized in foster care and learning all the basics that come with puppyhood. As young pups, they will need families committed to training, structure, patience, and plenty of love. Adoption Area: We only adopt to families living in Illinois, Wisconsin, or states that directly border either IL or WI. Renters: If you rent, your landlord must contact us directly to confirm that dogs are allowed in your home. Adoption Fee: $800. This includes their microchip, current vaccines and boosters, deworming, and spay/neuter at our rescue vet. Using Your Own Vet: If you choose to do the spay/neuter with your own vet, we will reimburse $100 once you provide proof of completion. This must be done before 6 months of age, and adopters will sign a contract agreeing to this requirement. Rescue License: DACPT #506053 Please visit our website www.thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
