Koda is an 18lb Shih Tzu/ yorkie terrier, 6 years old, up to date on his rabies shot, house trained! Loves to relax does not need to be walked very much. He is the perfect lab dog. He has some medical needs that we are not currently able to afford and continue with due to our growing family and financial situation changing soon. He has such a great disposition and calm demeanor at home. He would be so great for a family with older children or a couple that like to relax or even work. He does not need a lot of exercise since he is older and just needs some attention at the vet. We are so sad to be making this change but at the moment we just can’t afford what he needs for his extreme allergies. Other than that he is just not great with other dogs. Fears include fireworks and thunderstorms. He also sheds a lot but other than that he is a fantastic dog!

Gidget can be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she loves sitting in your lap and being held. She was surrendered along with her sisters because her owner’s health prevented him from properly caring for them. Gidget gets along with everyone and is truly as sweet as they come. Meet Winchester. Winchester is a sweet little guy who weighs just 14 pounds, and our veterinarian estimates he is about 8 years old. Sadly, it appears he has lived a life of neglect. He came to us from a shelter in deep South Texas missing much of his fur and looking like he had likely gone a very long time without even the most basic veterinary care. We suspect he may have spent much of his life living outside or fending for himself. The girls here at the rescue have nicknamed him “The Mountain Man” because of his rugged coloring and scruffy appearance. He also reminds me of a little old man who smoked too many cigars....he has the deepest, funniest bark that always makes us smile. Despite his difficult past, Winchester has a gentle, easygoing personality. He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue and is happiest just hanging out by your side. He isn’t asking for much—just a soft bed, a kind hand, and someone to love. More than anything, we would love to see Winchester spend his golden years in a loving home. We think he would be the perfect companion for a retired person or couple looking for a quiet, loyal friend. After everything he’s been through, he deserves to know what it’s like to be cherished, comfortable, and loved for the rest of his life. Winchester is currently located in Hondo, TX, but is available for transport to Geneva, IL on October 17th with an approved application. His adoption fee is $450 which includes the transport.
