All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. After a difficult past, he’s still choosing love—and he’s hoping to find someone who will choose him right back. Fully housetrained and wonderfully well-mannered, Larry will gently come find you and give you that knowing look when he needs something. He doesn’t require a crate and does beautifully when left alone, especially when he feels safe and secure in his environment.This charming little companion is happiest right by your side. He’ll follow you from room to room, checking in often, and happily settling nearby for a nap. Larry adores the outdoors—whether it’s lounging by the door, relaxing on a deck, or enjoying a few short, leisurely walks each day. Though his hearing isn’t the best, he stays closely attuned to his person, taking cues from your presence and routine. At 7 years old, this Shih Tzu snack is the definition of “mellow milk chocolate energy,” with a gooey caramel center full of love. He’s a chill, affectionate boy who lives for belly rubs, leisurely walks, and soaking up sunshine like a treat left on a windowsill. Friendly and kind, Snickers is the type of pup who melts right into your life and quickly becomes your favorite daily indulgence.Like any good treat, Snickers has his preferences—he *strongly* dislikes the crate (like wrapper crinkle panic), so he’s happiest when given freedom and comfort instead. He’s doing well with house training when kept on a consistent routine, and he’s a low-key companion indoors, happily napping in his dog bed or wandering in and out of his space.
