Story
Rocky is 5 years old. We acquired him from family friends who still have his parents. He is a loyal companion. Protective. Alerts us when someone is in the yard, at the door, etc. Craves attention. Needs to be with a family that is home with him often. Loves to play fetch. Loves massages. Loves treats. Loves walks. Loves car rides. His best friend is our cat. He is house trained, he will let us know when he has to go, but when we are gone for an extended period of time, he will potty in the house. We recently started putting him in a kennel when we are going to be gone for more than a couple hours. We are a busy family and feel that Rocky deserves to be with a family that can give him more attention. His biggest downfall is that he is food aggressive. If he finds human food or we drop human food and he gets ahold of it he becomes aggressive if we try to take it away, so we don’t try to anymore.

Bear is a very special pup and we are looking for an equally special home for him! He's a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix and weighs about 17 pounds. He has an adorable little face and giant eyes that display his emotions clearly. Bear came to us after he was one of multiple dogs left at a retention pond. He clearly didn't have a great start and what he needs more than ever is the comfort, confidence building, and love that a patient forever family can help him gain! He happily wags his tail whenever he sees his Foster mom - we know that with time, he will welcome his favorite humans' love, too. He is an intelligent fella but his fear from his former life can get in the way of his curiosity, so he will need a confident canine sidekick to show him this new world is not as scary as it may seem! He enjoys zooming with other dogs, especially in the snow. He has the funniest, joyful prance in the snow! His fun personality really shines through in the company of other dogs and we can't wait for his forever family to see him blossom! But, since he's not too sure about his surroundings yet, Bear will need a fenced yard to ensure his safety. We can't wait to find Bear's perfect forever home. He will be a great little companion to another dog and, with time, he will be the best companion for his people, too! All he is asking for is time and patience from his future family, and we are sure happy to help meet his needs

I'm 13 lbs., and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble.
