Story
Hi my name is Rowdy!  I am a 5 year old shih tzu who weighs 17 lbs  I am not sure why my name is Rowdy because I am not really a rowdy pup except when I am at the groomer.  Thought I better get that out of the way first.  That is my LEAST favorite thing in the world.  For a guy with long hair I really did not need that personality trait but sadly that is me.  I try really hard but unfortunately it is just too scary for me.  I require a 'little' shot in order to be endure this.  On the other hand when I am back to my handsome self, I am a sweet and confident young man.  I love other dogs, am OK with cats and good with people.  No young children though.  I definitely prefer adults.  I was surrendered to Critter Cavalry with my 2 sisters when our family could no longer take care of us.  I was a little scared and withdrawn at first but once I settled in I realized what is was like to be taken proper care of and to be loved for who I am.  I am a good boy.  I love to play and get along well with everyone in my foster home.  I walk OK on a leash and ride great in the car.  I am housebrokn, doggie door and crate trained.  I have been neutered and am current on all my shots, on monthly preventative and microchipped.  I am ready for my forever home.  I hope that will be with you.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application, please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (I am currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)September 17, 2024, 11:31 pm

Meet Kayla.... Everyone always asks where the mill moms are... Well here you go..... Sweet Kayla is a 6.5 year old female Shihtzu. She has spent her whole life being a breeding machine for a puppy mill. Those days are now over for this sweetheart. Kayla will be seen by our vet next week for bloodwork and a spay appointment. If our vet feels she needs a dental, she will get that completed as well. When we get offered the moms, we jump to get them out of these mills, we do everything needed to get them ready for a better life. Kayla is shy and definitely confused, she will need time and patience to get settled some where. She seems to do well with other dogs of all ages and sizes. We will observe her over the next few days to see where she is with kids and potty training. Most mill moms do better in quieter homes, without young kids. They usually need some potty training structure, but catch on quickly to an outside potty routine. Kayla weighs around 12 pounds. She was extremely matted when she came in. She was definitely uncomfortable. Kayla was so good in the bath and for an hour long grooming session, since she was so matted. Some may say - Kayla has a face only a mother would love. We are hoping there is a perfect family out there for her. One with patience, and love to give. A family that won't care about her underbite, big eyes and skittish personality. This is what rescue is all about...
