Story
Buttercup and her sister and brother, Bubbles and Brodie were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are 8 months old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs just under 7 pounds and is probably full grown now. Buttercup is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little bossy but plays great with her brother and sister. we feel like she would be fine with other dogs after getting to know them but would always want to be the boss. She would be fine with older children and we are not sure about cats but the bossy part would be the same at first. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug her forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are nine months old. Brodie is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. He needs a little practice on the leash and he’s making great progress on his house training. Story
Shih Tzu puppy fully vetted and ready for adoption.Backstory for Jasper Animal Saints Rescue Society was asked to help with a hoarding situation where several litters of puppies were born in quick succession. Dozens of Shih Tzu were living in a very small apartment when hobby breeding quickly became untenable. It is an honor to help get all of the adults neutered so the breeding stops, as well as ensure that the babies are placed with lifetime families.     Get to Know Jasper Age: 9 months Breed: Shih Tzu birthdate: 2.20.2025 Weight: approximately 10 pounds. He is 85% of his full size. He could stay this size or gain another pound. Vaccines and treatments:  Rabies  Bordetella  DHPP, part one and two   Other tests and procedures for the litter:  Heart worm test - negative  Erlichia, Anaplasma, and Lyme test - negative Fecal test - negative  Additional procedures:  Microchipped Bloodwork -- in normal and healthy ranges Neuter surgery in October, 2025 Requested adoption donation fee is only $900. This is to partly cover his veterinary bills and care expenses that our 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue incurred to help him. Breed and Hair Notes  Jasper has hair and not fur. He is a stunning white Shih Tzu with the sweetest smile and tongue. He is incredibly handsome and distinguished, even as a baby! PLEASE NOTE: Jasper's hair will grow as it is not fur. He will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care. Jasper has been amazing for his baths, haircuts, and nail trims. He will even just lay down on the grooming table, thankful for the attention, love, and care given to him. Personality Jasper is incredibly loving and playful. He loves to wrestle and nap with his littermate named Ivy, as well as the other puppies we are helping at present. He's also become friends with some of the older Saints like Stanley here in the sanctuary. His favourite thing in the world is to be hugged and carried around.  Ideal Home It is ideal for Jasper to be in a home with other small dogs and/or very dog friendly cats around. He would not do well in a home as the only dog, especially if his people are gone all day at work. Families with children are case-by-case. Jasper will especially thrive in a home that can give him companionship day and night. Jasper would be okay for a few hours on his own with his siblings if you provided him with puzzles and things to do while you’re away.  Plan on sharing your sofa and bedroom with Jasper. He will want to be by your side, no matter where you are and what you are doing.  If you have a very secure fenced-in backyard for running and playing, this is ideal for Jasper. He is going to be a little boy, even full grown. He will need exercise but not miles and miles of daily hiking like a working dog. Jasper is a companion animal in the truest sense of the word. His goal is to love and be loved.  Love and Commitment  At Animal Saints Rescue Society, our goal is to keep dogs out of overcapacity animal control facilities and out of a re-homing cycle. We place the dogs we save into lifetime families. With this in mind, we seek families who understand that an adoption is a lifetime commitment. The families who adopt from us believe that love is not a feeling, it is a decision. Some humans still believe it’s okay to try out a dog for a few weeks, a few months, or even a few years — then discard when they get bored or don’t want to deal with emotional or physical ailments. We are looking for the empathetic, kind, and patient humans in this world who view these Animal Saints as family, and they will do whatever it takes to give them what they need.  Will that family be you? We look forward to finding out and receiving your application!     December 2, 2025, 6:38 pm

Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care. Ivy has been incredible for her baths, haircuts, and nail trims. She is such a love and is so patient. Personality If Ivy could walk on her back legs all of the time, she would to keep up with you! She was born a dancer and waves with excitement when she sees humans coming. If that wasn't enough to make your heart melt into a puddle, she leans into her hugs like it's the most important thing in the world. She's a Saint in the truest sense of the word.  Ivy loves to play and is quite a friend to everyone here -- from baby Shih Tzu to senior Saints here in the sanctuary. She likes to keep up with her littermate Jasper and especially snuggles with him.  Ideal Home It is ideal for Ivy to be in a home with other small dogs and/or very dog friendly cats around. Shih Tzu puppy fully vetted and ready for adoption.Backstory for Cilla Animal Saints Rescue Society was asked to help with a hoarding situation where several litters of puppies were born in quick succession. Dozens of Shih Tzu were living in a very small apartment when hobby breeding quickly became untenable. It is an honor to help get all of the adults neutered so the breeding stops, as well as ensure that the babies are placed with lifetime families.     Get to Know Cilla Age: 4 months Breed: Shih Tzu birthdate: 7.28.2025 Weight: approximately 2.5 pounds. She will be approximately 5-6 pounds full grown. Vaccines and treatments:  Rabies  Bordetella  DHPP, part one and two   Other tests and procedures for the litter:  Heart worm test - negative  Erlichia, Anaplasma, and Lyme test - negative Fecal test - negative  Additional procedures:  Microchipped Because Cilla is so young, her spay surgery will need to happen after her adoption at the age of six months. A spay deposit of $300 will be required when the adoption is made official. This deposit will be refunded when we receive the spay certificate from the adopter. The adopter may choose the doctor of their choice and pay for the surgery themselves. Alternatively, a spay voucher for Otterkill Animal Hospital in Maybrook, New York can be provided if you are willing to take her to this clinic for her surgery.  Requested adoption donation fee is only $900. This is to partly cover her veterinary bills and care expenses that our 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue incurred to help her. Breed and Hair Notes  Cilla has hair and not fur. She is a brown and white Shih Tzu and one of the smallest Saints we have ever helped.  PLEASE NOTE: Cilla's hair will grow as it is not fur. She will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care. Cilla has been wonderful for her baths, haircuts, and nail trims.  Personality Cilla is the baby of the babies. She is the smallest and usually lets her bigger brothers and sisters move ahead in the line for attention. She patiently waits for her turn and watches with such loving eyes. She loves to be held and carried around. We have a lot of volunteers who have come to help socialize the puppies. Cilla has become one of the babies who loves to be held the most. She just spent a couple of hours asleep in the arms of one of our volunteers.  Ideal Home It is ideal for Cilla to be in a home with other small dogs or cats around. She will only do well in a one dog only home if her people are around all of the time. She will not do well in a home as the only dog if her people are gone all day at work. Because of her petite size, families with children are case-by-case. Cilla will especially thrive in a home that can give her companionship day and night. She’d be okay for a few hours on her own with her siblings if you provided her with puzzles and things to do while you’re away.  Plan on sharing your sofa and bedroom with Cilla.
