Story
Lulu is a darling, young female Siamese we are helping to find a new home for her. A previous adopter of ours got Lulu on Craigslist last year as a kitten and with a very heavy heart needs to rehome her for the best of Lulu. Lulu is a loving sweet and kind 1 year old Siamese that is extremely stressed in her current environment. Plays with toys and loves to sit on a lap. There has been a lot of construction repair in the apartment with a lot of noise and interruption. She lives in an apartment with loud door noises and talking in the hallway. The stress has caused Lulu to occasional pee outside of box. She has become a very nervous cat. Lulu has been checked out by vet and is medically healthy. She is one of those very sensitive little meezers that needs a quiet calm home as an only cat. Her mom is devastated to rehome her but knows deep down it is for Lulus best interest. She is currently in Mechanicsburg, PA but arrangements can be arranged for transport.

Story
Meet GlacierGlacier is a quiet, sensitive soul who is looking for a very special kind of adopter—someone cat-savvy, patient, and willing to let trust grow slowly. Right now, Glacier prefers to hide and isn’t ready to interact much. It’s not that they don’t want connection; they just need time, understanding, and a safe space to come out of their shell at their own pace.A calm, predictable home with someone who can offer reassurance without pressure would be ideal. With patience and compassion, Glacier has the potential to blossom into a confident companion. If you’re the kind of person who believes in gentle progress, quiet victories, and letting a timid cat learn the world isn’t so scary, Glacier may be the perfect match. Come meet this tender heart and see if you’re the one they’ve been waiting for.Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt

Story
This gorgeous brother-sister pair were born outside to a feral mom, and have spent the months since a trapper rescued them learning that life inside is good and people are kind. They have been besties all their short lives, leaning on each other as they navigated their changed world, being each other's playmates and cuddle partners. When Emmy got sick with FIP Geordie scarcely left her side, comforting and stabilizing her with his presence through those first critical days, and he has continued watching over her as she has healed. Now that Emmy has finished her FIP treatment, she and Geordie are finally ready to find their forever people. She is a bright spirit, fast learning she was born to be the Princess and have people of her own to rule. She follows her foster mom around, wanting scritches and chin rubs and play, usually curling up near mom when she's tired and ready to rest. Geordie is her loyal cavalier, as outrageously handsome as he is shy and sweet. He engages through play, and foster mom loves seeing him get "kitten eyes" when the toys come out. He is quite happy to trade affection for Churus and crunchy treats, and will often lie near mom for strokes. Emmy and Geordie need to find their home together. Adjustment will take some time for them, but an experienced cat person will be able to help them blossom, and will reap the rewards. They are spayed/neutered, up to date on their shots, and are good with other cats. Their foster welcomes home visits to get to know this adorable pair.

If you'd like to visit me, I am located at Mount Purrnon Cat Cafe & Wine Bar, 109 s Alfred street, Alexandria, Virginia. www.mtpurrnoncatcafe.com I am healthy, fully vetted and cat friendly! Meet Savannah! This beautiful Siamese is a young cat approximately 2 years old and 7 pounds. Savannah is on Zyrtec daily and may need to be on it long term. She is a good sport and takes her medication without issues. Savannah is a very sweet and quiet kitty. She enjoys coming around on her own time but also loves a good nap in a corner. She is good with the resident calm dog. Savannah would do best in a calm home that is quieter. Savannah is fine as an only cat or would do well with another cat in the home. She has lived with kitties as she has been a mommy and lived with her kittens. She is litter trained, spayed, up to date on vaccines, Combo tested Negative and microchipped. This kitty is spayed, up to date on vaccines, combo tested negative, microchipped and has had her complete exam with a veterinarian. The adoption fee for a fully vetted adult cat is $200.00. ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application (it does not commit you in any way but allows us to help you to find a great match). Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** **You must be at least 25 years old to adopt an animal from CK Rescue.** Cats adopted through CKRescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). *If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application. **
