Story
Cleopatra is a unique cat in multiple ways. She gets along with well-behaved cats, but likes to keep to herself, so we recommend her to be a solo cat. She was also on the street for a while, and she is very good at hunting mice, so she might be a good barn cat as well. She also meows in a strange way, either almost like a two-part meow at times if that makes sense or like she's trying really hard to meow like how a cat who's always lived indoors would meow. She also does not like to be picked up, but she loves to sleep at one's feet. She is a nice cat who never bites humans or other cats, and she does like rubbing her cheek against your hand in a loving way. She is very shy in new environments, and will want to hide in a dark/hidden area for the first few days. She likes to approach you versus you approaching her, but she does eventually and regularly approach you, mostly to nap on your feet. She also loves getting her back and neck scratched.

Story
Meet Anika, a quiet girl who gets sweeter as you get to know her.  She’s a beautiful Siamese with the most gorgeous blue eyes to get lost in.  She’s petite, smaller than most cats but perfectly patterned and proportioned.  Unfortunately her person was getting older and unable to care for her so it’s time for this cute girl to find a new home. Anika is shy at first but warms up more and more every day.  She lets you know when she’s ready for company and when she needs a little room.  Once she gets to know you she loves getting petted and will seek out your hands to try to get more.  It’s adorable to see her try to figure out where she wants to be petted.  She’ll be purring and rubbing once she’s buttered up just right. She’s not fussy and would love to be in a quiet household where she can relax and keep you company. While she still enjoys chasing string around, most of the time she just appreciates good company. We're not sure if she's good with children or dogs.  She's not excited about other cats but wouldn't mind a quiet friend who doesn't need to poke her nose in her business. Please inquire about this sweetie.  She’s a perfect Siamese just looking for the right forever home. Creampuff and her siblings will be available for adoption May 18.  Please note that it is Fancy Cats’ policy that kittens have an age-appropriate playmate in the home. Story
Male, born July 2023, DSH Personality: friendly, high energy, snuggly, talkative Aaron is hoping his abilities as a cute oddity can help him find the purrfect home. He is your typical high-energy kitten, who loves to play, but he is also an expert cuddler. When playing is over, Aaron wants nothing more than to be curled up as close as possible to you. If not, he'll let you know with his unique little meow! While he isn't the sharpest tool in the box, he is absolutely thrilled to be in the box at all and doesn't mind waiting his turn for the brain cell. Of course, Aaron may do best with another cat (like his brother Ben!) to help guide him, as his sense of self preservation isn't the best. Aaron's joints are a little funky, so he bends and moves in weird ways. Luckily, the vet has determined that no bones are broken and no joints are dislocated- he was just put together a little haphazardly! Ultimately, he just has silly little walk and a kink in his tail that will always give you a smile. Given the chance, Aaron will never cease to make you laugh, smile, and cry with happy tears. If you think your home is the perfect fit for this little nugget, please apply today! If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Story
Meet Minion! Don’t let this RBF fool you… this guy is pure love! Which is quite surprising considering the tragic condition in which he was found. He was rescued from the streets of NY after having been hit by a car. His would was too severe to repair and he later had his back leg amputated at the hip. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he was diagnosed with both FIV and FeLV. After healing from that, he had to have the majority of his teeth pulled. But Minion has a fighter’s spirit and none of that has held him back. He is pure energy and a lover. He LOVES to play and run just like any other able bodied cat. He is a curious and outgoing guy who loves his people. He comes with a 100% guarantee to put a smile on your face! Since he is a bit clumsy, he can be a bit messy with the litter box. He requires and oversized box, or better yet, a box in a bathtub (which is his preference). He is also a tad messy when he eats due to his lack of teeth so best to use a heavy feeding and water bowl – ceramic works great – so it stays steady as he pigs out. He would do best in a home with no young children. He gets along fine with calm dogs. He will tolerate other cats (but they must be FeLV+) but prefers to be the center of your devotion. Like all Furever Home cats, Minion is FeLV positive. If you’d like to know more about him, email FureverHomeMD@gmail.com
