Dominique is an extremely handsome, very social, black with a touch of white on his chest, male standard poodle born on 3/4/23. He currently weighs about 60 pounds and is a burning, burning hunk of love for sure, so it goes without saying that Dominique loves attention and is ready to bond with his special human. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Meet Jackson!  Say hello to Jackson, a sweet and soulful pup estimated to be around 3–4 years old and weighing about 50 lbs. This handsome guy was sadly dumped at an Amish farm, but he's left that past behind and is ready for a fresh start with a loving family! Jackson is a total lovebug who adores kids and gets along great with other dogs. He’s playful, affectionate, and knows a few basic commands—a smart boy with a heart of gold! He’s not the best fit for homes with cats, but with people and pups, he’s a total gem. If you’re looking for a loyal, family-friendly dog who’s eager to please and full of love, Jackson is your guy.  Come meet Jackson and give this good boy the forever home he deserves! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lil-Beth will be arriving in Maine on Saturday 10 May 2025 We are happy to accept and process applications before she arrives. Lil-Beth was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas with her siblings, arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine at the end of April. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine to meet and then hopefully take home. We would like to adopt Lil-Beth and her sister Pheobe together as they are bonded and have been through so much together. These dogs are HIGH MAINTENANCE in regards of GROOMING! Lil-BET is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, and in March 2025 weighed 42 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of August 2023.  We can not say for sure what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Lil-Beth was saved with her brother and sister who had been dumped at the shelter severely matted and neglected. When GaDaH confirmed their commitment to take them, they were placed with an amazing foster family who groomed them and has been working with them the past month whilst waiting for transport. This is what the shelter relayed from the foster family:   Why You’ll Love Lil Bit: &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143  Friendly & affectionate  – Loves to be around people! &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143  Great size  – At 42 lbs, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion. Could put on some more weight. &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143  Doodle mix  – Fluffy, adorable, and likely low-shedding! &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143  Playful & loving  – Enjoys both cuddle time and outdoor fun. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Lil Beth is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet girl. Story
Life has gotten so much better for 3 little poodles that were rescued in February and it’s only going to get better as they look forward to becoming cherished family members in their new forever homes. Hazel, whose date of birth is 11/17/18, was listed as a red poodle on her papers. She is incredibly sweet but has been somewhat timid and is slowly learning to trust. Her ear mites are cleared up and after being brought up to date on vaccinations, she had a much-needed grooming. Her groomer sent us a before and after picture of her, and remarked that Hazel was so timid she wouldn’t look at her initially but after the groom it was like Hazel thought, you made me feel so much better, you may be someone I can trust and looked at her. Hazel was spayed and had a hernia repair as well, which we had not been aware of, and a dental on 3/6/25. On 2/25/25 she weighed 8.9 pounds. Hazel is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Due to her small size, Hazel will only be considered for homes with older children. Hazel’s adoption donation is $665 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt this precious little sweetheart, who is currently being fostered in Arkansas, and give her the kind of life she so richly deserves, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. Story
Life has gotten so much better for 3 little poodles that were rescued in February and it’s only going to get better as they look forward to becoming cherished family members in their new forever homes. Tina, whose date of birth is 4/23/18, was listed as a red poodle on her papers. Tina is a very social little girl and is the first one to run up and ask to be picked up. Even though all 3 had ear mites, Tina’s case was the worst. The ear mites were cleared up which helped these babies feel so much more comfortable. After being brought up to date on vaccinations all three were given a much-needed grooming. Their coats were so matted, the groomer had to shave them pretty close, but this also seemed to make them feel better. Our groomer sent us a before and after picture which is shared with you in Tina’s pictures. Tina had a dental on 3/5/25 and had to have 4 teeth removed. She had a spay and hernia repair on 3/11/25. On 2/25 she weighed 10.6 pounds and needs to lose a pound or so. She is up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Tina’s adoption donation is $665 which includes the $165 transport fee.
