Story
Buster is an adorable 7 year old Poodle mix weighing about 11 pounds. He came into our care after unexpected life changes left his family unable to keep him. Buster is a happy, affectionate little guy with plenty of personality. He adjusted quickly to his foster home, exploring his new surroundings, wagging his tail and happily greeting the other dogs. He's intelligent, athletic and loves to play. One of his favorite games is tossing a tennis ball into the air so you'll throw it for him again! Buster enjoys being active, but he's also an affectionate boy who loves spending time with his people and giving kisses. Buster is microchipped and looking for a loving forever home where he'll have plenty of opportunities to play, have fun and be part of the family. He has lots of love and personality packed into his little 11 pound body and is ready to share it with someone special. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. Story
Meet Caesar! This handsome 2-year-old, 75-pound boy was found wandering in the country with no one to claim him. Thankfully, a kind neighbor contacted the shelter after a few days, and Caesar is now ready for his next chapter. After a dna test we found out Caesar is 50/50 Poodle and Great Pyrenees.  When he arrived, his coat was quite matted, but underneath it all was a healthy, happy boy who had clearly known love at some point—he’s already neutered and seems to be house trained. Caesar is friendly, gentle, and eager for attention.  He’ll thrive with a family ready to give him the care, grooming, and affection he deserves.  He’ll thrive with a family ready to give him the care, grooming, and affection he deserves. Caesar has shown some guarding tendencies so it's best if he is in a home without kids or other dogs and with adopters who are willing to give him his space. If you’d like to make Caesar part of your family, please fill out an adoption application at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on your laptop or computer. If you are not in a position to adopt, please consider donating so we can continue to provide care for dogs like Caesar that desperately need it. Story
Oreo is a 5-year-old doodle who weighs around 46 lbs and has the whole city dog thing pretty much figured out. She’s sweet, mellow, incredibly polite, and has settled into city life like she’s been doing it forever. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and a fantastic walking buddy, whether you’re heading out for a quick stroll or a longer walk. Sometimes she even grabs her own leash to give you a little help along the way! Oreo loves people, is friendly with every dog she meets, and is always happy to be around her humans, but she’s equally comfortable relaxing in her crate or on her designated spot when it’s time to unwind. She’s also great in the car and has a very low-shedding coat, making her a potentially good fit for people looking for an allergy-friendly companion. Oreo is an easygoing, affectionate girl who’s ready to make herself right at home with her new family. Registered adopters interested in Oreo can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you’re not registered yet, you can do it at hbrdogs.com.

*Charlie is a courtesy post and is not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue A message from Charlie's caregiver - Charlie is 6 years old, neutered, and healthy. We rescued him from a shelter when he was about 6 months old. In the 5+ years we've had him, he's been a good, loyal, energetic, and well-fed boy. However, after we had a baby, circumstances became much more challenging. He's perpetually anxious, jealous, and often possessive/triggered by our toddler/her toys. We want to expand our family, but can't with the on-going stress of not being able to leave Charlie unattended around babies. As much as we love him, we think he would be happier in a more peaceful home without young kids. It's a very sad situation for us because we love him. We want to find him a caring new owner and make sure he's loved. Thanks for reading and please message me if you think you'd be a good match for Charlie, or know someone who is.Please text Irene's cell: 914-374-8732 September 27, 2026, 11:39 am

Story
Corky ❤️ A Sweet Boy Just Waiting to Feel Safe Corky is a handsome little poodle mix, who is about a year old and weighing 53 pounds, has been through a pretty big change in his young life. Corky and his brothers were left behind at a cabin when the renter moved away. For these dogs, that cabin and the life they knew was their entire world — and suddenly, everything familiar was gone. The man who raised them just disappeared and abandoned them. Because of that, Corky is understandably very shy when he is in a new or unfamiliar situation. New places, new people, and especially busy environments can be overwhelming for him here in his first week of being away from the original place he was born. If you take the time to slow down and let Corky figure things out at his own pace, you begin to see a completely different dog. Once Corky honestly settles in and realizes he is safe, he is an incredibly sweet boy. When we met him in a setting where he felt more comfortable, he was friendly and gentle. The shy behavior we see in unfamiliar places isn't who Corky is at his heart — it's simply how he copes when he isn't sure what is happening around him. Corky has lived with other dogs, including his dad and brothers, and seems comfortable having canine companionship around him. He enjoyed being outside and having the familiar routine of his previous life. We think another confident, friendly dog could potentially be a wonderful companion for him as he learns to trust and experience new things. Please don't let his initial shyness fool you — this boy is smart! Corky is very trainable and has so much potential. With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and someone willing to celebrate the little victories, we believe his confidence will continue to grow. He may need a little extra time in the beginning, but every step forward will be worth it.   At the vet, Corky is especially shy and overwhelmed, which isn't surprising given everything that is new to him. But when he is somewhere he feels comfortable, we see that sweet personality starting to emerge. He just needs someone who understands that trust isn't built overnight.   Corky will do best with an adopter who is willing to support him on his journey rather than expect him to immediately be the confident, outgoing dog he may eventually become. He needs someone patient and kind, someone who will give him a safe place to decompress, a predictable routine, and plenty of encouragement. There is something especially rewarding about watching a shy dog realize that he is finally home. We believe Corky has the potential to become a wonderful, loving companion once he has the security and stability he has been missing. He didn't choose to be left behind. He didn't choose to have his whole world change. But with the right person beside him, Corky can learn that the next chapter of his life can be so much better than the first.    Corky is looking for someone who will give him the time, patience, and love he needs to blossom. In return, we think he will give you something pretty special — the joy of watching a sweet, smart little dog finally discover that he is safe, loved, and home.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in being the lifechanging person and family in Corky's life. Fraggle2 years • 31 lbsFully vetted, spayed, microchippedFostered in Brooklyn, NYAvailable in: NY, NJ, CT, PA, ME, VT, VA, DE, MD, RI, NHApply at houndsinpounds.org Fraggle is a whole experience — a boppy, scruffy, animated little queen who wakes up every morning ready to star in her own sitcom. She’s cute, she’s sweet, she’s fun, and she moves through life like she’s powered by a tiny internal disco ball.  She’s got that perfect “Brooklyn girl” energy: a little sass, a lot of charm, and a bounce in her step that says she knows she’s adorable and she’s absolutely using it to her advantage. Fraggle doesn’t just walk — she prances. She doesn’t just wag — she wiggles. She doesn’t just greet you — she performs a full welcome routine like you’re entering her Broadway dressing room. She’s expressive, silly, and delightfully dramatic in all the best ways. One head tilt from her and suddenly you’re canceling plans because Fraggle has decided it’s “her day.” She’s good with dogs, good with cats, and excellent at convincing everyone she meets that she’s the main character and you’re lucky to be in her supporting cast. If you’re looking for a dog with big personality, comedic timing, and a chicky little sparkle, Fraggle is your girl. Additional DetailsThe update below comes directly from this dog’s foster home. We share these notes on our website so adopters can get an accurate, realtime picture before requesting a meet & greet. Please read everything carefully before contacting us. Doing so helps cut down on unnecessary emails and allows us to respond faster to adopters who truly need assistance. A reminder: behavior can shift dramatically between environments, and every dog needs a decompression period in a new home. For some, that’s a few days; for others, it may take several weeks or even months. If no update is currently listed, please check back soon. We’re actively working with the foster to gather the most recent information. Briefly describe the dog's overall personality and temperament:Fraggle is very sweet, craves affection.
