Story
Meet Susie, an eight-month-old white & tabby DSH with a story that spans miles and a heart that’s just waiting to bloom. This island girl made her way to us all the way to Connecticut from beautiful Barbados, and while her journey has been a big one, she’s ready to finally settle into a furever home of her own. Susie can be a little shy at first and appreciates a gentle, patient approach as she gets to know you. New environments can feel overwhelming, but give her a little time and space, and you’ll see her sweet personality start to shine. Once she trusts you, she transforms into a total love — soaking up affection, leaning into pets, and quietly adoring her people. She plays well with other cats and truly thrives with feline companionship, so she must be adopted into a home with another kitty friend. A confident cat buddy will help her continue building confidence and feeling secure. If you believe that the best bonds are the ones built with patience and love, Susie just might be your purrfect match. Her adoption fee is WAIVED thanks to a generous donor and Susie is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you're interested in this little cutie, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/201805462692153. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Meet Inferno, a two-year-old tabby with a gorgeous striped coat and the most stunning green eyes. She is also the last remaining member of our Fire Litter still waiting for her furever home. Just days before Christmas, Inferno and seven other cats survived a devastating house fire in Ansonia. After the home was deemed unsafe, they were left behind to fend for themselves in a crumbling house surrounded by ash and rubble until help finally arrived. Despite everything she went through, Inferno has shown incredible resilience. Inferno has a quiet sweetness that makes her truly special. She is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place, so she’ll need a patient home willing to give her the time and understanding she deserves. Once she feels comfortable, her gentle personality shines—she especially loves soft pets and calm affection. She can also be quite vocal and isn’t afraid to chat with you when she wants attention or to let you know what’s on her mind. This little queen also has a funny, adorable habit: she loves drinking straight from the faucet like the pampered royalty she is! When she’s feeling playful, she enjoys spending time with the kittens in her foster home, so she would love to find a family with another young kitty friend. She’ll make a purrfect addition to the right home. Her adoption fee is $225 and Inferno is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you're interested in this sweet girl, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/201805462692153. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
We always have Barn and Farm cats to place! Most of these are cats who are not friendly with people, although many do become so over time. These cats live outside primarily and help reduce rodent and pest populations. Farms, barns, feed stores, warehouses, greenhouses, or any building that offers a cat escape from severe weather and predators is ideal for placement. We like to place in pairs but that is not required. The cats in these photos are shy/timid with people but not aggressive and would do best in an outdoor home, not as a house cat. We ask for a $50 fee for each cat adopted however we do spend about $150 per cat to be spayed or neutered and get vaccines so any additional donation is greatly appreciated. Story
Mona is a sweet and easygoing girl about 2-3 who came to us as a stray. She loves to have attention and spend time with people and is still playful. Mona gets along with most other nice cats or would be happy having all your attention to herself. Mona has tested positive for FIV, also known at kitty Aids. Just like with people it is NOT contagious through casual contact. It's safe to share food, water, and litter box with a negative cat. FIV is only passed by mating or a deep bite wound, where saliva from the positive cat enters the blood stream of another kitty. This is very rare in socialized house cats. FIV cats may have a shorter life span in part due to the fact that with a compromised immune system they are more prone to contracting infections. FIV positive cats must live strictly indoors to reduce the chances of contracting something dangerous. It is NOT a death sentence! FIV positive cats can live well into their teens and have a very normal life. Mona was fostered in a home with several negative cats. If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org. and submit an application. See this kitty in purrson at PETCO, 4559 Main St, Bridgeport anytime the store is open.
