Story
Hello, Oreo is a very nice cat. We saved her from a horders house when she was a kitten. She’s cuddly, loves to sun bath, and is a great partner if you need a buddy to chill with. She currently lives with three other boy cats and unfortunately does not like to play with them like they do. She has began isolating herself which is why we are looking to rehome her to somewhere she can feel more comfortable.

Story
Mace was given to me when he was just a kitten. I have had my sweet boy for the last 6 years. He loves cuddles and to be picked up and held over your shoulder. He is very vocal when he wants something. I don't believe he has special needs exactly but he does require a little extra care. He only uses open litter boxes as he gets poop on his tail in enclosed boxes. He only eats wet food with water on it as he does not drink enough water from the bowl. He is neutered so he does not spray the house. He likes to play a little fetch and run around the house. He grew up with another cat and a small dog and larger dog. Children makes him go into hiding. As I have gotten older my allergies have gotten significantly worst and I cannot care for my cats any longer in the way they deserve. I do not get to brush them as often, if they accidently scratch me my skin welts up and itches, and trying to change their litter boxes leave me in a coughing wheezing fit. I hope I can find them a furever home.

Story
Meet Morty! A nice ~2 year old rescue cat. He was born outside but asked to come live inside and he’s much happier there. He loves getting pets and playing with a fishing pole toy. At night he chases mice toys around. Morty is very smart! He makes cute squeaks at people when he wants something. A great communicator. He’s pretty independent, not all over your lap. But he does like being around people. Perfect WFH companion! Morty uses the litter box very well and clean, and has a healthy appetite. I think he misses having cat friends, he gets very excited to meet new cats! A very slow introduction would be best since he gets a little overwhelmed- he can be a little rough when playing, since he’s so excited! Morty hasn’t met a dog yet but I have a feeling he wouldn’t mind K9 company. TBD He might be a little shy at first with new people, but we are willing to help him integrate into your home since he trusts us. He warms up quick. A Churu and play session goes a long way.

Story
If you want to adopt her you have to adopt her sister as well she too is also neutered/spayed. Up to date shots and chipped. Talia is brown and Harley is black with a white chest kind of tuxedo like. We got them when they were one month old. Talia is calm and relaxed. Harley can get overstimulated at times and walks away to hide. But as long as you’re calm with them and just letting and cuddling they’ll both be fine. Again I want her to be adopted with her sister that’s nonnegotiable.

These cats are in Royal Oak, Michigan too!

Story
Meet Poppi! Poppi is a little shy, a trait that only adds to her charm. She appreciates the company of her fellow felines, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. Which makes her a great addition to a home that already has feline friends. She has a soft spot for treats, but don't expect her to be overly affectionate. Poppi might not be the type to sit on your lap and purr, but she will bring joy and companionship to your home. Her unique personality makes her the perfect pet for someone who appreciates a cat with an independent spirit. Poppi requires a patient and understanding adopter. Someone who can understand her initial reticence and give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. The joy of watching Poppi bloom into a confident, loving pet is a reward in itself. Poppi is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Story
Meet Snooki! Snooki is a gorgeous tabico with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s equal parts cuddlebug and diva—sweet as can be one minute and giving you the “that’s enough, human” look the next. Don’t worry, her famous little “swipes” aren’t mean—just her polite way of saying, “Please, I need some me time.” This girl knows what she wants, and honestly? We respect that. She loves a good snuggle session when she’s in the mood, and she absolutely lives for interactive play. Wand toys, feather teasers, catnip mice—Snooki is your go-to gal for a rousing round of chase-the-string. Snooki was found in a motel parking lot in Royal Oak, but you’d never guess it now—she’s traded that street life for the good life, and she’s ready to find her forever stage. She can be cautious with new feline friends but may do just fine with a slow intro to another chill cat. She’d thrive in a calm, steady home where she can get plenty of attention without too much chaos. An experienced cat person who understands her sass and loves her for it will be her perfect match. Snooki isn’t just a cat—she’s a whole vibe. If you’re looking for a little sass, a lot of love, and endless entertainment, she’s your girl. Snooki is currently in a foster home.

Story
Meet Colin & Glenn – The Ultimate Brother Duo We truly can’t figure out how Colin and Glenn are still waiting for their forever home. Good looks? Check. Friendly? Check. Affectionate and loving? Check. Playful without the chaotic kitten energy? Big check. Love other cats? Double check. Treat motivated? Honestly… more like treat obsessed. Colin and Glenn are bonded brothers and proud FIP graduates — now healthy, happy, and fully ready to start their next chapter together. They are deeply devoted to one another and would thrive in a calm, loving home where they can continue being best friends. Glenn is the sleek, stunning black panther of the pair. He’s a world-class cuddler who adores his foster mom and shows his affection with nonstop purring and enthusiastic biscuit-making. Personal space is optional in Glenn’s world — he is always ready for snuggles and attention. Colin is a strikingly marked tabby with a slightly more reserved personality, but don’t be fooled — he is just as loving. He enjoys curling up close and will politely (and repeatedly) meow for more pets when he decides he hasn’t had enough. These boys grew up around other cats and genuinely enjoy feline company. They love to play together, chasing each other around and going absolutely wild for string toys. When playtime is over, they’re happiest relaxing together, soaking up love. If you’re looking for a ridiculously handsome, affectionate, playful (but not over-the-top) bonded pair to bring warmth and joy into your home, Colin & Glenn are your guys. Colin & Glenn are currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens.
