Nakia is a black, 6-month-old, 37.30-pound Weim/GSD mix puppy.  Nakia is a sensitive and smart girl. She has tons of energy and loves to play with her sister and foster brother. When she first meets you, she is very shy and it does take a while to warm up, but once she does, she turns into the biggest cuddler. She would do better in a home that has another dog(s) that can help her settle in. Nakia has no issues going into her crate, especially if she knows she's getting a treat. When she gets scared or overly excited, she does piddle but we are working on it. We are also working on potty training and she's getting better everyday. Nakia's new family will need to be patient and work with her on building up confidence. According to the puppy calculator, she will probably be between 60 and 80 lbs. Scarlett is a black, 6-month-old, 57.7-pound Weim/GSD mix puppy.  Scarlett is a sensitive and smart girl. She is one of the biggest pups from her litter and loves to play. She can be shy at first, but once she gets to know you she will become your shadow. She does a great job going into her crate, especially when she knows there is a treat in it for her. When she gets scared or overly excited, she does piddle, but we are working on that. We are also working on potty training and she is getting better at it everyday. Sophie is a petite 2-year-old, 58-pound, gray spayed female who is in search of a home that will give her the love and attention that she is craving.   Playful and energetic are words that typifies the spirit of the breed and also about Sophie. She is a curious youngster who loves to play and wrestle with her foster brother.  She dog selective when she sees dogs she does not know, but is playful and loving towards those she has socialized with.  She will need an introduction to a new dog that she will live with.  She does well with children and strangers as long as they are not on bicycles or motorcycles which frighten and confuse her. For being energetic, she needs good exercise every day. She absolutely LOVES being outside to explore, look for squirrels, and sniff everything along the way. She’s a vocal girl, and will let you know when she sees people or animals outside. She’s worked hard and improved A LOT on her leash manners, but she does tend to pull due to her excitement.  Sophie is very food-motivated and will eat each meal as if she has never tasted food so good. However, she practices patience and will sit and wait for our command that she can eat. Like her foster brother, she loves treats, ice, and especially petrified yak cheese! She has come a long way with her house training, but could still use some work on consistency. She sometimes has separation anxiety when humans leave so having a compatible dog friend that is her age could be really good for her. Sophie is very smart and shows she is very trainable with a family that can dedicate the time, energy, and socialization she missed in her early days. She will do best with a family that can give her a lot of exercise and space outdoors to explore and learn the ways of the world. With lots of attention, Sophie will make a great addition to a dog family and inject a lot of life and flair to your forever home.  She is being fostered in the Dallas area if you are interested in meeting this girl. ##1570061##

My name is Rain.  I'm a 60-pound 2-year-old gray female with a natural tail.  I'm a really happy, bouncy, girl that loves hugs and playing with my foster sisters.  I have had a rough start prior to coming into rescue, as I was allowed to roam the streets.  As a result I have had a few litters even though I'm so young.  My foster family has really helped me get healthy and back into shape and now I'm ready to find my forever home.   I have been working on basic commands like sit, stay, and shake and I love getting treats for them.  I do really like chasing deer in the neighborhood, so I don't get to roam as freely as I would like.  I'm living with cats righ now, but I make them nervous as I am so curious about them and try to chase them if they move fast, so it's probably better that I not be tempted and say no to cats.  I am also house broken and crate trained. My ideal family would be with another dog that I can play with and some humans that like to go walking or a large fenced in yard to run, jump and sniff in.  I would do best with older kids as I might be too energetic for the "littles". Bella

Bella is a 3-year-old, gray, spayed female who LOVES human attention.  She was found as a stray with another female and was lucky enough to have WRT bring her in.  So sadly we don't have a lot of her backstory.   Bella has been with a trainer in a board-n-train for 2 months to help her with her separation anxiety. She has a very, very short docked tail, which is just long enough to see move when she gets excited. Bella will need a good amount of exercise/walks.  Not a dog park though due to her anxiety levels.  Bella is leash trained, obedience trained and crate trained.  She will be best in an environment that is not going to leave her in a crate for over 8 hours a day as she does suffer with anxiety (so she will need to be crated when you leave the house).  She is on Prozac daily as she just needs that extra help to settle her brain.  The cost for maintaining her medication is about $8/month as the medication can be ordered online for direct delivery. Bella is good with other dogs, but really doesn't play or need other dogs.  She would likely enjoy all the attention as an only dog. Bella is up to date on her shots and is Heartworm negative.  She is in the Austin area and is ready to be adopted by her forever family.  ##1549200##

Bo Duke

Bo Duke is a 2-year-old, 75-pound very active neutered blue male.  Bo came into rescue being surrendered by his owners because he was used to acreage and when they moved weren't able to have pets in their new location.   Bo is house trained and crate trained.  The fosters have been working with him to go for naps in his crate while they are home and this has led to better departures when they leave the house. He is dog friendly, but can also be dog selective with some dogs.  He has been very playful with a dog that stayed for a week with the foster family.  On walks he is very strong and still pulls on the leash.  Running is better, but he is focused on other dogs on leash and will bark at them if you don't keep him focused and running.  If he is surprised by a walker or runner on his left, he can lead with his mouth.  In these areas Bo would benefit from his new owner working with a trainer to help him learn more.  The fosters have been working with a trainer on his leash walking skills and he has improved greatly. Cats are a NO. Although the foster family doesn't have any kids, it is probably recommended that he not be in a home with very small children as he is still a bit of a jumper and might scare or knock down a small child. Bo is truly a velcro dog.  He loves to be touching you as much as he can.  He does have a bit of separation anxiety but that has eased in foster care with time and treats. Bo's ideal home is someone that is very active and will continue to walk and run with him and work on his leash training.  He also would probably benefit from having a dog friend to play with to help with his energy level, but the dog's must be introduced to make sure it's a good fit for him.  He is good with his commands of sit, stay and shake. Oreo was born in February of 2022. He is fully vaccinated, including flu. He is potty trained and has been professionally trained. He knows: sit, come, place, stay, and down. He doesn't bark much, gets along with other dogs and people (although as of late he has started getting a little shy with new people), he's very socialized, and has attended daycare since I got him. He's a little bit of a handful for me being in an apartment, he needs a backyard to be able to play in. He's good with other dogs and children. The pictures I have are from when he was a pup. He's bigger now, around 75 lbs. He's a very good dog and deserves a nice home and a responsible transition. Looking forward to hearing from anyone looking for a new addition to their family.
