Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bella is a 3-year-old, gray, spayed female who LOVES human attention.  She was found as a stray with another female and was lucky enough to have WRT bring her in.  So sadly we don't have a lot of her backstory.   Bella has been with a trainer in a board-n-train for a few months to help her with her separation anxiety. She has a very, very short docked tail, which is just long enough to see move when she gets excited. Bella will need a good amount of exercise/walks.  Not a dog park though due to her anxiety levels.  Bella walks great on leash, is obedience trained, crate trained and reliable off leash as well.  She will be best in an environment that is not going to leave her in a crate for over 8 hours a day as she does suffer with anxiety (so she will need to be crated when you leave the house).  She is on Prozac daily as she just needs that extra help to settle her brain.  The cost for maintaining her medication is about $8/month as the medication can be ordered online for direct delivery.  She is also an escape artist that loves to open doors and cabinets so also another reason to crate her while you are out. Bella would do best as an only dog.  She has not gotten along with females in the past but her trainer says should might be able to coexist with a laid back male.  Either way, the adopter will have contact with her trainer as needed after adoption. Bella would also do best with older children as she doesn't really like smaller kids in her face or smacking her. Bella is up to date on her shots and is Heartworm negative.  She is in the Austin area and is ready to be adopted by her forever family.  ##1549200##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Shay is an almost 6-year-old, 80-pound, blue Weim mix (looks like Great Dane/Weim mix) that just loves affection.  Shay came from a pretty hard background where she was abandoned and left to fend for herself.  Thankfully she was found and we were able to take her in. Shay has been at a board and train facility for many weeks due to aggression issues with small dogs.  The trainer has said she is such a great girl that if she didn't have too many dogs herself she would adopt her in a heartbeat. Shay is not a high energy dog and honestly just wants to be around her humans.  She does not need much exercise like your typical Weimaraner - possibly the Great Dane influence in her personality.  A short walk a day should be plenty.  Shay needs to be the only dog in the home, as the best fit for her.  She has coexisted with a very lazy male hound dog but she is not good with small dogs.  She sees them as prey.  Shay can get spooked and confused by really fast moving high energy dogs and smaller dogs.  So it's best for her to be in a home without them so she can be comfortable and not anxious. Shay is leash trained, has great obedience, off leash trained, crate trained, muzzle trained and house trained. If you are interested in adopting Shay and giving this girl a home, you will get help from her trainer to make sure she settles into your home nicely and Jessica will help with any questions you have about Shay.  She is currently in the NW Austin area. ##1558815##

Story
Bo Duke is a 2-year-old, 75-pound very active neutered blue male.  Bo came into rescue being surrendered by his owners because he was used to acreage and when they moved weren't able to have pets in their new location.   Bo is house trained and crate trained.  Bo has been through a training program for loose leash walking and off-leash collar training and done wonderfully.  He knows his commands (including place), but needs to be reminded to use them as he is a very active dog. He is dog friendly.  Cats are a NO as he has already killed one. Although the foster family doesn't have any kids, it is probably recommended that he not be in a home with very small children as he is still a bit of a jumper and might scare or knock down a small child. Bo is truly a velcro dog.  He loves to be touching you as much as he can.  He does have a bit of separation anxiety but that has eased in foster care with time and treats. Bo's ideal home is someone that is very active and will continue to walk and run with him and continue to work on his leash commands and training he received.  He also would probably benefit from having a dog friend to play with to help with his energy level.  He is good with his commands of sit, stay and shake. If you are interested in applying to adopt, Bo Duke is located in the DFW area. ##1571284##

Smokey is almost 4 years old (his birthday is 10/27/2019).  This beautiful gray boy weighs in around 65 pounds. Smokey is friendly with all people and other dogs.  He is house trained and crate trained.  He can show himself as a little scared and defensive when you first meet him, but he is an awesome boy. He loves treats, chewing on toys, and curling up in your lap.  He is the most loving dog and just wants love and attention. He is being fostered in the Houston area if you are interested. ##1805258##

Story
Hershey is a sweet 4-year-old female with soulful eyes that draw you in immediately when you meet her. She is a typical Velcro Weim in that she likes to be with you wherever you are and most often wants you to be petting her. She has the typical large head with the “smart bump” and long velvet ears that she loves scratched. She is a big girl at 72 pounds and sometimes she doesn’t quite know her size; therefore, she should probably go to a home with older children and teens as she might be a bit overwhelming to a younger child. She is housebroken and is a smart pup in that she learned the doggy door very quickly. Hershey had a rough start and it is obvious she has had at least 1 litter of puppies. She is still very much a puppy herself and although she is quite calm, she can show the typical Weim energy when excited. Hershey gets along with other dogs and actually came in to WRT with a companion. There is also a caged bird in the home that she pays little to no attention to. However, she does have a strong prey drive as evident by her keen squirrel detection and riddance in the back yard.  Because she is used to being with other dogs, she would benefit from a household with at least one other dog. Since she doesn’t really know her size it may be best that the dog be at least a medium size dog as she does love to play. She is learning what toys are for, but took immediately to the ball and appears to have played fetch in the past as she knew exactly how that game goes. Hershey is very affectionate and will come to you often during the day to get pets and will place her paw on you to get your attention if you are not petting her enough or you have stopped! She is quite mannerly in that she doesn’t jump on anyone, nor does she rush the door when it is opened. She is highly food motivated and has been easy to train to sit while waiting for food or while the front door is opened to receive visitors. Hershey is not a barker and seems to only bark when the other dogs in the home are engaged. It is unknown if Hershey is crate trained as she currently has the run of the house. She has one bad habit which is counter surfing and will find whatever small morsel of food you may have left on the counter and whatever plate it was in will end up on the floor. Because she is quite tall this is not a hard feat for her and so all food must be hidden or put away. She is not destructive and has not chewed on furniture or any items in the home while I have been away. She will make the perfect companion to another dog as she learns to play and her personality begins to come forth.   If interested, she is being fostering in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. ##1788033##
