Story
Lilah is a 3-year-old, 70lbs, Australian Shepard/Weimaraner/Hound mix. She is a very sweet and goofy dog. She is great with other dogs and people, crate trained, and does well on leashed walks. She loves hikes and once she’s warmed up a bit, she loves being in water. We made a significant investment in a formal off leash k9 training program so she can respond with an E-Collar and to important commands. Because she has that hound in her, she’s food driven and focuses on smells above all else. She’ll do what you ask… for a treat. Her quirks and things she needs someone to help her work on; she’s a counter surfer and will steal any and all food if she gets a chance. She is a howler and more recently has been barking at people who pass the yard. She could potentially be a good hunting dog, or hiking companion. She’s been a very loved girl, and we hope to connect her with the right forever home. After having a baby and moving with a small yard, we’re not able to give her what she needs.

Story
Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Doc McGee is the name.... and FUN is the game!! I am a mixture of some hunting dogs…I like to raise up my paw when I see something in the backyard and I have some herding qualities. i like to try to corral my mom’s personal dogs around the yard. I am the sweetest boy at nighttime and I love to snuggle with my foster mommy in her bed at night…I love to be skin-on-skin! I do not like my kennel to sleep in. I bark if I cannot be laying with you. I am athletic and energetic and love to wrestle with my doggy siblings at my foster mom’s house. I really want a fun furry friend to play with at my new home. I also like to play with the 2 legged humans that like to talk “baby talk” to me. I am still working on potty training. I always pee-pee like a big boy out in the grass, but I sometimes have some accidents inside. I need to go outside right away in the morning when I wake up and I need to go outside within 2 minutes of eating to continue having success. I am a fun boy and I like to play with any and all squeaky toys, and I like to chew on anything that my toofers fit on….firewood, balls, toys, blankies, old shoes etc. I am very good at fetching when my human throws toys. Do I sound like a good fit for you? I cannot wait to go to my furever home!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.happy boy looking for fresh start and love! RANDY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Randy      Best Guess for Breed: Pointer and shepherd mix     Best Guess for Age:   4.5 years as of February 2026       SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   42 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.    Randy is Looking For:  This handsome guy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He is eagerly looking ahead to his new one. The one where he gets his own humans for long sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips and is in his prime as an adult dog, so he knows what's most important in life: being safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me:   Randy is very sweet and is good houseguest.  He’s great in the house on his own when we leave him - doesn’t chew or destroy anything.  He is getting used to the crate and sleeps well overnight, and his walking manners are improving!  He is a lovely dog that is great at entertaining himself, protecting you from dust bunnies, and being your loyal companion!   Heartworm information: Randy is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Randy has completed this activity restriction period   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Name:   Riley      Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer mix   Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of March 2026      SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  42 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs!  We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Riley is Looking For:     Her forever home! This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. At a bit under five years old, she's past her puppy days but is up for adventure - she's eager for sniffy walks and romps and world exploration with her humans! A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, and lots of snuggles round out her wish list. But most of all she wants to know where she belongs, that she's safe and loved. What do you say? Do you have space in your home and your heart for Riley?   What My Foster Says About Me:  From her overnight foster: 'Riley was such a lovely houseguest on Saturday night! I would describe her as 'cautiously curious'. She was happy to meet new people and dogs, but when it comes to trying new things (i.e. entering new rooms or sniffing things outside), she prefers to dip her toes in slowly. She was kind to every person we have met so far, and loves attention. I don't have a dog of my own, but she did great with 1-on-1 meetings with dogs of all sizes, including a sassy Frenchie. She has a great family dog energy - she has energy for walks and playtime, but is very happy to watch TV on the couch (as long as it includes head scratches!). She was a little tentative to go into the crate, but once she's in, she is very well behaved. Also, she had no accidents in my house! She is a sweet, happy girl, and anyone would be lucky to have her!'   Heartworm information:   Riley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated!
