I started life in South Korea on a dog meat farm, and though I still carry a few little scars from that time, my heart has healed so much. With the help of some kind trainers, I’ve learned what love feels like—and now I’m ready to share it with my very own person. At first, I can be a little shy and cautious (old habits!), but once I trust you, my sweetness shines all the way through. I become playful, happy, and full of zoomies—I’ll even make you laugh with my goofy side. I love to run, I love to learn, and nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve made you smile.I think I’d be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend, since other dogs aren’t quite my cup of tea. But honestly? With a heart as big as mine, I’ll fill your world with more than enough love. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful for me, along with a patient person who’ll keep helping me grow braver and more confident every day.I may have had a tough beginning, but I haven’t let it dim my spirit. Now I just need someone to see the sweet, devoted, silly girl I am and say, “That’s my dog.” My name’s Darcy—and I can’t wait to make you smile too. Darcy was a past Dog of the Month!!  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/darcy-december-dog-of-the-month-3/Sponsored by Angela Kasse Sponsored by Jieun Cho Darcy would love another sponsor while she waits for her forever home.  If this sounds like something you'd like to do, see this link for more info.  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? Sweetie is a fun and loving girl who loves to spend time with people and playful kind dog companions. She is an active girl who is looking for a home with space to romp around. While she isn’t super heavy, she is on the taller side with her long legs. While with us she has done well with the other dogs she has met and with the cats she has met. She would also do well as an only dog. She crates well, and has been learning basic skills such as sit and wait. We are looking for a home for her that wants to put the bit of time in to make this young girl the amazing pup we know she can be! Sweeties adoption donation is $450 to help cover some of her costs including transport, spay, vaccines, vetting, and daily care. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Wa and possibly Oregon, no other out of state adoptions at this time. THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE IN POULSBO, WA. MEET AND GREETS WILL TAKE PLACE THERE AS WELL. SANDOR's Story Est. DOB: 11/05/2018 Weight: 65lbs Adoption fee: $99 Sandor is a big ol' sweetheart who’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and a whole lot of love into the right home. He’s the kind of dog who truly enhances the quality of life for the person he bonds with. Once he trusts you, he gives his whole heart. Sandor is a world-class cuddler and would like to spend most of his day relaxing on the couch or snoozing in a sunny spot. In the afternoon, he enjoys a leisurely stroll and the occasional 10-minute burst of playful energy before settling back in for more lounging. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who adores people—especially adults and older kids (10+) and would prefer to be the only furry friend in the home. He’s incredibly respectful around food; you can even take treats right from his mouth or hand without a worry. All he really wants is attention, calm companionship, and someone who appreciates a low-key, loyal dog. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion who will happily share your couch and your heart, Sandor may be your perfect match. (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Apply today! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSAR/Dog Disclaimer: Please note that dogs in a rescue environment may behave differently than they would in a home setting. While we do our best to assess each dogs habits and behaviors, we cannot guarantee that any dog is fully potty trained or will not have accidents after adoption. Changes in environment, routine, stress levels, and transition into a new home can all impact a dogs house-training habits. Patience, consistency, and continued training may be needed as the dog adjusts to their new home. Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. These descriptions are not definitive and should be considered a "guestimate." Since we cannot always know the exact breed mix of our rescue animals, the information provided is simply an educated guess. AMeet Joey! Named after a baby kangaroo, he certainly lives up to it. This little whippet mix is 11 pounds and all legs. He is about 4 years old but acts like a puppy! Joey is the sweetest boy and loves all people. He's very outgoing and just wants everyone's attention. He was on the streets for a while so will need some more potty and manners training but he's a very fast learner. He would thrive in a home with other dogs and people who will give him the love and attention he'll certainly ask for. He's also an active dog so he would be an amazing exercise buddy. If you're looking for a spunky, and lovable dog then Joey is the one for you! He would do best in a home with older children and no cats. He loves other dogs and will happily share a home with a dog friend. Joey is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Jasmine! Jasmine is a 1.5-year-old, 21 lb Chihuahua/Whippet mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This fun-sized girl is packed with personality and affection! Jasmine is sweet, social, playful, and loves being with her people. In foster care, she has continued to show what a friendly, outgoing dog she is. She recently attended a gathering with ten people and loved every minute of it, happily soaking up all the attention and making new friends. If youre looking for a dog that genuinely enjoys being around people, Jasmine is your girl. Shes also smart, eager to learn, and eager to please. Jasmine has been making great progress with training, including improving her recall and basic commands. She is mostly house-trained and has been doing well overall in foster care. Jasmine loves other dogs and has shown that having a canine companion greatly benefits her. She would do best in a home with another younger, playful, well-adjusted dog who can keep up with her energy level and provide companionship. Having another dog around helps her feel more confident and comfortable. One area Jasmine is still working on is separation anxiety. She forms strong bonds with her people and doesn't enjoy being left alone. Because of this, she is looking for a home where her people are home often, can take her along on adventures, or have a schedule that minimizes long periods of alone time. A canine companion has proven to be especially helpful in helping her feel secure. Due to her vocal nature when left alone, Jasmine is not a good fit for apartments, condos, or shared-wall living situations. She is looking for a standalone home where she can continue working on her confidence and separation anxiety without worrying about close neighbors. Jasmine is an active, happy young dog who would love an outgoing lifestyle filled with walks, adventures, playtime, training, and plenty of opportunities to be included in her family's daily life. She has so much love to give and will thrive with adopters who are committed to helping her continue growing into her best self. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, social companion who wants to be part of all of life's adventures, Jasmine may be the perfect addition to your family! Jasmine is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.
