Story
Hello friends! 🐕 I'm a sweet guy who may not make the best first impression because I'm really shy and awkward. But once you get to know me and offer me some treats, I start to warm up. I prefer dogs my size over human children, they can be a bit overwhelming for me. I need someone patient who understands that I need time to adjust and build my confidence. I may take longer than expected, but I'm really looking forward to finding my forever home!BakerMy name is Baker, I'm a Yorkie Terrier Dachsund type mix and I am still pretty young at just under 2 years old. I'm not a big guy, I'm about 10-12 lbs. I need a special home. Read more about me!TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Active (puppy energy).Shows fear of menWould do well with a playful dog friendSKILLSDoing great with potty training.Crate trained.Good with dogs.Has not been exposed to cats.Would probably be ok with older gentle children 12 and up.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes playing with other dogs.Suggest training (basic manners).ONE LAST THING:Baker is a very sweet, playful young pup. Potential adopters should know that he will need time to settle into his new home and will need to be bribed with treats on treats on treats to love them. He is super shy at first and can be barky with new people. While he will want desperately to be pet once he warms up he, will take time to actually allow you to pet him. Once he has bonded, it is a forever kind of love. He adores snuggling and cuddling with his favorite people and doggie friends.Baker adores running and playing with other dogs and is ball obsessed. He will wait until one of his furry friends goes outside to go out himself. Baker is a bit of a homebody. He gets incredibly anxious on car rides.Baker is doing well with potty training as long as he is let out every hour or so. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly throughout the night. He will need to be crated when left alone since he gets bored when left to his own devices and can be a terrier and tear something up. But if you put in the time, Baker is an absolute love.July 22, 2024, 5:47 pm

Story
How could this delicate little nugget have been a stray!?!? She has been neglected for some time and is settling into the good life, learning that she is safe and sound. She is kind, quiet, mellow and a gentle old soul. Sophie is good with dogs, probably cats, and gentle teenagers. She truly is a kind soul! We think that she's 14 years old and she weighs a whopping 5 lbs. Our vet has done extensive tests on our little nugget and, other than minor changes to her liver, she is healthier than first thought! She will need to take a liver supplement for the foreseeable future, and we will have her spayed once she's gained a little weight. Sophie deserves the world. We know that she will be a wonderfully loyal lap dog and she will do well in most any mellow home.

Story
Meet the pretty little Gracie! She is a 1 ½ -year-old, 12 pound, Brussels Griffon / Yorkie mix ?. She has a golden colored, easy care, scruffy, coat with hints of brindle and warm brown eyes. Gracie was adopted from AFC with Casper (also available: if you would like a pair) and they were returned due to their adopter’s health problems. She is adorable and will melt your heart with her loving gaze. She is on a little on the shy side and will need a little patience to blossom. Gracie is an absolute LAP DOG! She would love a home that includes her in all their daily activities. She can climb so a properly fenced secure yard is a necessity. She is leash trained. She does well with going outside to potty and she is used to a good routine. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command “go potty” before taking the dogs out to do their business. Gracie is happy to comply and keeps her kennel clean. Gracie would be a great addition to an adult home though she is great with teenagers. She is spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated. Gracie is waiting to love you! Story
Could you be the special family that Reggie is looking for? He is a handsome, 1-year-old, 13 pound, gold, Yorkie mix. He will require regular professional grooming to look his best. He was found as a stray and never claimed by an owner. He is a Velcro dog and wants to be with you 24/7. He would love to be your constant companion. He loves to talk so please be someone that enjoys communicating. He gets along with some other dogs (his size) but he would be fine as an only dog with a work from home person. He may need some leash training. He goes outside to do his business with the command “go potty and uses our doggie door at the sanctuary”. He is a smart boy. Please teach him some tricks and get some mental stimulation toys ? Please also be a homeowner with a securely fenced yard. He is not suited for apartment or condo living. He is neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped. Reggie is ready to begin his new life as a treasured member of your family. Story
Meet Olive. She is a fiesty, happy little girl. She walks well on a leash (and thoroughly enjoys her walks), loves to eat, housebroken, and sleeps much of the day away in her bed or on the couch. She came to rescue covered in filth and mats. That gave her a skin condition that required several months of treatment and recovery. But she is ready to go now. Her new adopter(s) will get the pleasure of watching her bald spots disappear! Many of those spots have fuzz on them already but a couple may ultimately remain hairless. She is only 6 pounds and cute as a button so, on walks, be prepared to hear over and over "oh, look at her...so cute". When she comes across dogs on walks, she is so excited she almost comes across aggressive. But when she gets face to face, she is so happy to meet them! Given the shape she was in when she came to us, it appears she has had a tough time in the past. She is still coming out of her shell and learning to trust. I have had the pleasure of caring for her for a couple of months thru her skin problem and she has come to trust me. It has been such a pleasure to watch. She plays with me, happy to see me, lets me put meds on, etc. She still has food aggression but, again, given her trust of me, I am now able to take her food without a problem. If you think she might fit into your home, please visit WrenYorkieRescue.org, click on Forms, fill out the adoption application, and mail in or submit online so we can set up a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Jessie. The first thing to say about her is how sweet and loving she is. Always so happy to be around her family. She has advanced cataracts but that doesn't seem to bother her or slow her down. She is always in the mix! She has memorized her environment which includes a 4 stair stairway! She is the favorite of many of the volunteers...just sweet sweet sweet. If you think she might fit into your home, please visit WrenYorkieRescue.org, click on Forms, fill out the adoption application, and mail in or submit online so we can set up a meet and greet. She will make you smile every day!.
