Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier puppies and dogs in Pittsburg, California

Hello I have only had Brownie for one month now and have to rehome him because my youngest daughter is still scared of him. (She apparently is scared of dogs) He was purchased from a Craig’s list ad. He’s 5 years old approximately. Previous owners stated he is up to date on shots. I have taken him to the vet since I’ve had him and all blood works looks good and he’s pretty healthy. Brownie is in need of someone who can spend more time with him. He loves attention and rubs. He gets really sad when he has to be in his crate. He is potty trained but will use the restroom in the home if he’s left out alone. If he’s is a play pen in the home he will not use the bathroom there. I have 3 young children and he gets along with them pretty well. He loves long walks, and short car rides. He is unable to have children due to Cryptorchidism, or retained testicles. Getting him neutered would be a fix for this issue.

Meet Olive. She is a fiesty, happy little girl. She walks well on a leash (and thoroughly enjoys her walks), loves to eat, housebroken, and sleeps much of the day away in her bed or on the couch. She came to rescue covered in filth and mats. That gave her a skin condition that required several months of treatment and recovery. But she is ready to go now. Her new adopter(s) will get the pleasure of watching her bald spots disappear! Many of those spots have fuzz on them already but a couple may ultimately remain hairless. She is only 6 pounds and cute as a button so, on walks, be prepared to hear over and over "oh, look at her...so cute". When she comes across dogs on walks, she is so excited she almost comes across aggressive. But when she gets face to face, she is so happy to meet them! Given the shape she was in when she came to us, it appears she has had a tough time in the past. She is still coming out of her shell and learning to trust. I have had the pleasure of caring for her for a couple of months thru her skin problem and she has come to trust me. It has been such a pleasure to watch. She plays with me, happy to see me, lets me put meds on, etc. She still has food aggression but, again, given her trust of me, I am now able to take her food without a problem. Meet Jessie. The first thing to say about her is how sweet and loving she is. Always so happy to be around her family. She has advanced cataracts but that doesn't seem to bother her or slow her down. She is always in the mix! She has memorized her environment which includes a 4 stair stairway! She is the favorite of many of the volunteers...just sweet sweet sweet. **Meet Millie Rose this Saturday, April 27h from 10 to 1:00 at Dublin Petsmart West, 6960 Amador Plaza Rd.** Millie Rose is a lap dog and loves to be held and to get belly rubs. She wants to be near you at all times. She signals when she wants to go outside by getting hold of her leash and she walks well on a leash. She rarely barks and does not yap. She is a very sweet and cute, little dog who is quite smart too! She is doing wonderfully in her foster home. She is house trained and rides quietly in the car in her crate. Millie Rose is highly motivated to work for food and is currently working on commands: sit; stay; wait; leave it; hurry, better go now (for potty on command); down; and get dressed (sit still to put on harness to go out). Meet the pretty little Gracie! She is a 1 ½ -year-old, 12 pound, Brussels Griffon / Yorkie mix ?. She has a golden colored, easy care, scruffy, coat with hints of brindle and warm brown eyes. Gracie was adopted from AFC with Casper (also available: if you would like a pair) and they were returned due to their adopter’s health problems. She is adorable and will melt your heart with her loving gaze. She is on a little on the shy side and will need a little patience to blossom. Gracie is an absolute LAP DOG! She would love a home that includes her in all their daily activities. She can climb so a properly fenced secure yard is a necessity. She is leash trained. She does well with going outside to potty and she is used to a good routine. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command “go potty” before taking the dogs out to do their business. Gracie is happy to comply and keeps her kennel clean. Gracie would be a great addition to an adult home though she is great with teenagers. She is spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated.      7 year old, 22 lb OBESE Lhasa Apso Mix SPAYED FEMALE for ADOPTION  Meet Zucchini Produce !     Zucchini is a ~7 year old Lhasa Apso mix that comes to us from Contra Costa Animal Services.  That sounds like a big range, but she acts like a 4 year old but possibly due to neglect seemed to be a bit older as far as her coat and teeth looked   Zucchini is currently 22 lbs and (like a lot of us) needs to shed a few lbs to be a healthy weight. She needs to be around 18 lbs is what the vet tells us. She is a little picky but obviously likes to eat (sounds like me!).   She is a huge fan of Puppachinos and she gets a bite or two after a long week of eating healthy. She is really good about taking any meds in some wet food. She also loves the sound of her own voice so an apartment would not be the best setting for her long term.     She does have dry eye and will need eye drops for life (a combo of prescription and OTC).    This is what her foster mom has to say about this sweet girl -   'Zucchini is a very active dog. She’s a good girl, very sweet and she loves praise. All she wants to do is play with the other dogs in her foster home. She can be pushy and doesn’t know the meaning of boundaries. We highly recommend training classes to help her learn manners and succeed. She’s super happy and loves to go on walks. Once she sees the leash in your hand she gets crazy happy.   She should lose a few pounds and actually she has since she’s been in her foster home.   She will follow you everywhere if she loves you. She’s not a Velcro dog but she wants to be close enough to you to see you. She loves to give you kisses and receiving lots of belly rubs in return. She HATES staying the kennel and can be very vocal. Car rides are not a favorite of hers either but she’s learning.   We don’t recommend a home with cats because she will chase them. Since she needs help learning her limits, older children in the home is also recommended. She freely uses the potty pads and if taken out she will do her business. She has not yet learned to go out on her own.    Her foster mom says she is spoiled and likely lived in a home who did not give her any boundaries or make her share.
