I prefer dogs my size over human children, they can be a bit overwhelming for me. I need someone patient who understands that I need time to adjust and build my confidence. I may take longer than expected, but I'm really looking forward to finding my forever home!BakerMy name is Baker, I'm a Yorkie Terrier Dachsund type mix and I am still pretty young at just under 2 years old. I'm not a big guy, I'm about 10-12 lbs. I need a special home. Potential adopters should know that he will need time to settle into his new home and will need to be bribed with treats on treats on treats to love them. He is super shy at first and can be barky with new people. While he will want desperately to be pet once he warms up he, will take time to actually allow you to pet him. Once he has bonded, it is a forever kind of love. He adores snuggling and cuddling with his favorite people and doggie friends.Baker adores running and playing with other dogs and is ball obsessed. He will wait until one of his furry friends goes outside to go out himself. Baker is a bit of a homebody. He gets incredibly anxious on car rides.Baker is doing well with potty training as long as he is let out every hour or so. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly throughout the night. He will need to be crated when left alone since he gets bored when left to his own devices and can be a terrier and tear something up. Meet Olive. She is a fiesty, happy little girl. She walks well on a leash (and thoroughly enjoys her walks), loves to eat, housebroken, and sleeps much of the day away in her bed or on the couch. She came to rescue covered in filth and mats. That gave her a skin condition that required several months of treatment and recovery. But she is ready to go now. Her new adopter(s) will get the pleasure of watching her bald spots disappear! Many of those spots have fuzz on them already but a couple may ultimately remain hairless. She is only 6 pounds and cute as a button so, on walks, be prepared to hear over and over "oh, look at her...so cute". When she comes across dogs on walks, she is so excited she almost comes across aggressive. But when she gets face to face, she is so happy to meet them! Given the shape she was in when she came to us, it appears she has had a tough time in the past. She is still coming out of her shell and learning to trust. I have had the pleasure of caring for her for a couple of months thru her skin problem and she has come to trust me. It has been such a pleasure to watch. She plays with me, happy to see me, lets me put meds on, etc. She still has food aggression but, again, given her trust of me, I am now able to take her food without a problem.
