You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well can I just say I LOVE the ranch!!  My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!!  The authorities finally came and got us all!!  Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!!  My best friend is Layla.  She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again.  The volunteers are really nice.  They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to!  Mom says she is going to attach some pics of where we lived but I am happy to forget all about that and enjoy life.REQUIREMENTS to adopt GiGiMUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOGMUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. He has a cute wiry mane around his neck that makes him unique! He’s a spunky little boy that also loves to cuddle. He is house trained but you can always expect some accidents when a dog is adjusting to a new home.  Poor Kobe did not learn any manners in his previous home so he needs some patience. He would benefit from an obedience class or training at home.  Kobe likes to guard his food, toys and person therefore he would probably do best as an only dog or a dog companion that is more submissive. He does enjoy playing with other dogs but don't try to steal his toy! He is currently working on taking treats nicely. He loves food and is tempted to grab it right out of your hand.  The best thing about Kobe is he loves to snuggle beside you, on your lap  or under a blanket.  he will quietly sleep in his crate at night time but I’m sure he would love to snuggle in bed with you too. Kobe is a sweet boy who would love a home with someone to call his own cuddle buddyIntake Day:My daddy died :(  He was 90.  I'm only 3 soooo I am loving that I get to run around A LOT and have furry buddies to play with!!!  There's this field that we all get to run in and play with balls and such and its great fun and there are lots of different humans that come to play with us :)Momma Lynn says I need my family jewels off, not sure what that means but no one sounded to upset about it so I'm thinking I won't miss them.  Michael said its a piece of cake I just take a nap and when I wake up my family jewels are gone.  If you want to meet me fill out an application and we can make a play date!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Hi! I’m Felix! I’m a bouncy, playful little Yorkie-Pomeranian mix with a whole lot of energy and even more love to give! I’m full of puppy spunk and always ready for a game—whether it’s chasing toys, wrestling with a furry friend, or going after your toes (don’t say I didn’t warn you!). I absolutely love to play and would do best in a home with another playful dog who can match my energy and show me the ropes. Even though I’m full of zoomies, I’m also careful and sweet—I’m just trying to figure out how to be the best boy I can be! I’m not potty trained yet, so I’ll need a patient and committed family who’s ready to help me learn with kindness and consistency. I’m still figuring out how the world works, but I’m eager to grow into the perfect little companion. Because I’m still young and learning, I’d do best in a home with kids over 10 who understand how to handle a small, high-energy puppy. I’d also be a great match for a family that has the time and energy to keep up with me—and maybe sneak in a cuddle or two between play sessions. Since I’m too young to be neutered right now, I will be adopted under a Neuter Contract. More information will be provided to my adoptive family. I am UTD on vaccines for my age and will need additional boosters and a rabies vaccine once I’m old enough. If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application at www.zoeshouserescue.com. I can’t wait to meet my forever playmate! Kennel License 9117 Reading, PA 19608

DOB 2-11-2019 Pepper is a retired working girl looking for her first very own home. She is sweet, likes to play, gets along with everyone and deserves her own life now. Pepper has been spayed, she is heartworm negative and received a proheart 6 heartworm preventative injection. The adoption fee for Pepper is 750.00 and her transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
