Story
Chewy is six years old and he is a very sweet dog. We have just never been able to house train him. Recently, he had a sudden weight loss and became unable to control his urination. After a few thousand dollars in medical expenses it was determined that he had diabetes, which requires the administration of insulin shots two times a day. Due to Chewy’s inability to control either his urination or his bowel movements and because of work schedules, we can’t care for all his needs.

Story
Bella and Chloe are a pair of well-behaved and affectionate senior Yorkies. While they do appear to be purebred, they are larger than the average Yorkie; Bella is 14 pounds and Chloe is 15. They are 10 years old. They are sisters and are very closely bonded, so we are adopting them out together. Whoever adopts them will be very glad for that as they are a delightful pair. If one sets foot out of a room, the other automatically follows. They sleep together (in foster dogmom’s bed, of course), wrassle together, and go outside exploring together. If you have a lap, Bella and Chloe want to sit in it—they are snuggle bunnies. If your lap happens to be empty, one or the other (or both) will beg for permission to curl up with you. They will be happy to start with some head petting and butt scritching, but eventually the side legs are going to pop up to expose their pudgy little bellies, in case you’re in the mood to rub a dog tummy. They are still quite spry and can jump up on and off the couch by themselves, but I set a cheap foam ramp by the couch for safety. They both like small squeaky toys. Chloe will walk around for half an hour at a time with a toy in her mouth. They don’t chew them or destroy them or make them squeak; they just like to carry them around. Bella’s favorite activity is to stand by the window and bark at the passers-by. (If you would prefer that she not bark, just close the blinds.) As seniors, Bella and Chloe have got their manners down. They are house-trained, though you should expect accidents with them coming into a new house. They are non-destructive (don’t chew anything but toys). They live in a house with 6 other dogs and they get along with everybody. They’re a little shy around new people but they warm up very quickly. They do not bark, except for the above-mentioned entertainment purposes. They would be great dogs for a couple or family with older kids (12 and up). They are so grateful to their foster for pulling them out of the shelter and will quickly come to love their new family. The adoption fee for both dogs is $400 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. They are heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. We have also had their teeth cleaned. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
Meet Koa, a 10-12 year old, 9 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Hello everybody out there in this big beautiful world. It's me, Koa checking in with you to tell you what's been going on in my life since my last pupdate. Let's start with telling you that the hair on my feet is growing back and that they are itty-bitty baby hairs growing on my leather ears. I've been gaining weight and I'm almost at the perfect weight. Foster mom felt comfortable enough that I was healthy enough to go get my much needed neuter and more so needed dental. She thought I'd come back toothless but I ended up being able to keep a couple of toofers. I had so many missing teeth already and actually my foster mom found a couple before I got my dental that must've fallen out on their own. She said when she found them it was like walking on a Lego ha ha ha. This is why it's so important to take your puppers to your dogter for their annual visits, their vaccinations and the dental when it's needed. Because I got intubated for my surgeries, I still have a little bit of a cough, but it is clearing up. I am still so scared of everything, still very very head shy, the wind still scares me when I'm outside and if you suddenly approach me I get startled. It is getting a little bit better. Foster mom has been so patient when approaching me to give me my eye drops, but I still cringe when she picks me up. It is taking me a while to learn how to become a dog. I do not play with toys or other dogs here at my foster home. She is hoping that that may change someday. I am a mature little guy, so I do sleep more than usual but I am also awake more than I used to be during the daytime hours. I do like to be outside just to enjoy the weather, smell the fresh air and watch all the other dogs do their silly stuff while we are all outside. I'm enjoying wandering the house just to be wandering. I don't need a whole lot in my life. Just someone to love me for who I am. Someone who will be patient with me as I learn how to become a dog. Someone who will feed me nutritious food, which by the way I eat a mix of hard kibble and canned food. Sometimes foster mom throws a little bit of poached chicken and rice in there. She tends to sneak some vegetables in there too. I am a very quiet little guy. I don't even bark when all the other dogs are barking at the Amazon guy. Then again that could be because I do not hear anything. That kind of makes it difficult for foster mom to approach me because I cannot hear her coming or her voice. A nice yard that's fenced in would be pawsome. I can coexist with other pups that are about my size. I'd love my future home to have Pawrent(s) who work from home or are even retired. I walk nicely on a leash and foster mom says I am the bestest car rider she's had in a very long time. I still see the eye specialist regularly so they can keep tabs on my eyes and what they're doing. The eye dogter told her that my right eye is healing well. I do have dry eyes so I will need to have eye drops put in 2 to 3 times a day. The ones we use do not cost much and can be found on Amazon. On our next check up we are hoping that we can stop doing the three other eye drops that I am currently on. The bottles last a long time so it's not very expensive to keep up on my eye medication. I do need to see an eye specialist twice a year just to keep tabs on my dry eye. I love being brushed. Plus, I get to go get groomed very soon as I just have to wait for my neuter stitches to heal before they can get wet. Foster mom has given me baths, and I am a very cooperative pupper in the tub. I'm still searching for my forever home and my very own fairytail ending. Could you possibly be my king or my queen to love me fur furever so I can become your prince and your castle? If you have any questions about me, please reach out to my foster mom at stickhors@gmail.com Love, Koa

Story
Meet Rocco, a handsome 4 year old, 10 pound Yorkie Mix boy being fostered in McKinney, TX. Rocco was Heartworm positive but he has completed his treatments and is now HW free and 100% healthy! Only Texas applicants will be considered. Dear Santa Paws, Hi, my name is Rocco, and Ive been a very good boy this year. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, the family that wanted me wasnt able to adopt me after all. So here I am, Santa Paws, sending you my Christmas letter and letting you know my biggest wish: A home of my very own, with a family of my very own. I really hope this letter reaches you in time. Let me tell you what to look for as you search for my forever home: Id love to have a backyard to run and play in. I wouldnt mind having a fur buddy, but its not a mustas long as my family will play with me. Im great with kids, but they should be 12 years or older. Now, a little about me: Im a healthy 17 pounds now. Ive completed my heartworm treatment, and my microfilaria test came back negativeyay me! Im up to date on all my vaccinations, Im microchipped, and Im neutered. Im still working on my house-training and learning to walk nicely on a harness, but Im a fast learner and I try really hard. My favorite thing in the whole world is snuggling right next to you. If you let me, I would love to sleep in bed with you, but Im also crate-trained. Im about three years old, though Foster Mom thinks I may be a little younger because I still have so much puppy energy. I have long legsshe thinks I might have some schnauzer in me. She also calls me Pogo Stick because I bounce up and down when Im excited to see her! Ill make this short, but if anyone out there has questions about me, they can reach my Foster Mom at: Stickhors@gmail.com So, Santa Paws, I hope you can help make my Christmas wish come true-I want to be home for Christmas. P.S. Please tell Mrs. Santa Paws hello, and I hope shes keeping the elves busy making doggy toys, doggy dolls, sweaters, and jackets! Thank you for reading my letter, Santa Paws. Get lots of restyour big day is almost here, and I hope you carry my wish with you around the world. Love, Rocco
