Story
Meet Pomegranate!! This affection lady is so sweet and adorable. She is one of the 13 dogs we took in from a horrible hoarding situation. She survived being in a feces covered home during freezing temps with no heat, no water and no electricity for a very long time. Pomegranate was covered from head to tail in severe matting and underweight. She was also terrified and very withdrawn when she came to her foster home. Shes now one of the farthest along with training and being social Pomegranate is an at least 2 yr old female Yorkie type mix. She may be older than that we arent sure. She weighs 17 Pounds and is full grown. She was severely matted and had to be shaved down but her hair will grown back. She will be spayed, have a dental, be up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. It has been so rewarding to see Pomegranate go from a feral, timid creature to a happy, affectionate dog. Pomegranate loves people once she learns you are a safe and loving place for her. She does great in her crate. At first she was terrified to be outside in the open, but she is adjusting well with short, rewarding outdoor sessions. She has done so well with leash training and is quickly learning that walks are fun! She has done just fine around other dogs and cats. She is also very friendly with children and loves to just wag away when she sees people. Children in the home home need to be respectful and not treat her like a toy. She is nearly fully potty trained and continues to make significant progress every day. She came from a place where they were trapped inside and had no options for going anywhere else. She does not like to potty in her crate, which is good, and she is quickly adjusting to be comfortable going outside. Her new owner will just need to be patient and understanding given her history. Pomegranate has not displayed any issues sharing food, treats, or toys with people or other animals. Due to her previous living conditions, she will scarf her food down, but she has not had issues with food aggression. So far she has been a fairly quiet little dog. Pomegranate will quietly whimper when she is scared because she is outside, but other than that, has been a very quiet dog. We think that once she becomes fully comfortable, she will be good at vocalizing when she needs to go out to potty, as she’s already started to do that. Pomegranate is an over all chill, low energy dog. She may get more spunky as she continues to come out of her shell, but she would do just fine in a variety of homes. 📌📌She will need regular grooming. This requires time to get him to and from the appointments and additional expenses to pay for it. On average a dog of this breed will need grooming every 6 weeks. This should be fully considered prior to applying to adopt him. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message us directly with questions or to get an application at VillageDogResource@gmail.com For faster response and to see more pics visit our facebook page.‼️

Story
Meet Clementine!! This beautiful girl is one of the 13 dogs we took in from a horrible hoarding situation. She survived being in a feces covered home during freezing temps with no heat, no water and no electricity for a very long time. This sweet girl is timid but wants to love. She will need some time to adjust to a new place. Clementine is an approx 3 year old female. She is a mix of a lot of small breeds we guess. She weighs 12.5 Pounds. She has already been spayed, is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. She is one of the more timid ones. She will run and find a hiding spot and wait until you’re not looking to come out. She does really well with another super social dog around. When her buddy Guava is around she will come out of hiding and follow her over to us for petting and treats. Another dog in the home really helps her see people are safe and fun. If you grab her she will sit and cuddle with you. Clementine has had no issues around other dogs. She coexists with them well. Her and Guava choose to cuddle up together in the same kennel. She doesn’t mind hyper dogs around either. She’s not fostered with cats but we think she would be fine with them. She is fostered with kids and does fine with calmer kids that can give her space until she’s comfortable. As with any dog she would need any children in the house to be respectful and not treat her like a toy. A sweet, low energy kid with a lap to cuddle in would likely make her very happy. Clementine is great about crate training. She uses it as a safe space and is very quiet unless she needs to go out. She does not go potty in her crate. She has done very well on car rides and does not get sick. She is very new to leash training and is terrified of the leash as well as being outdoors so it is slow going. She gets scared when she feels the tension on the leash. She will need a lot more time to get settled and used to the outdoors and the leash. She is not potty trained. She came from a place where they were trapped inside and had no options for going anywhere else. She will not potty in her crate but as soon as you let her out and leave the room she will go on the floor. She is working on learning about going outside to potty. It is taking some time as she is afraid of being outside and the leash. Her new owner will just need to be patient and understanding given her history. Clementine has not had any issues sharing food with people. We do give her space to eat alone from other animals so she doesn’t feel rushed. Given her history of having to fight other dogs just to eat it would be a good idea to always give her alone time with her food. She deserves to feel comfortable when she is eating. She has been around another dog and tried to eat their food. They growled and she backed off so she seems less likely to fight over it than some from the same home. She currently has a lower energy level so far. We expect she will get more energetic once she fully decompresses. She is quick when she wants to be and a good climber. She’s definitely got some spunk when she chooses to. Clementine needs a person willing to work with her and gain her trust. We can see how badly she wants to trust someone. If you’re willing to put in the work with her she’s definitely worth it. This sweet beautiful girl has so much potential. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message us directly at VillageDogResource@gmail.com with questions or to get an application For faster response and to see more pics visit our facebook page.‼️

Story
Meet Pineapple !! 🦇 🍍 Is he terrifyingly adorable? Does he have teeth for days? Is he the next TikTok sensation? Was his daddy a vampire bat? We think so. A unique tiny cutie that’s sure to start conversations anywhere you go and yes, he is in fact from West Virginia 😂🤷‍♀️ He is one of the 13 dogs we took in from a horrible hoarding situation. He survived being in a feces covered home during freezing temps with no heat, no water and no electricity for a very long time. The dogs there all had to fight over very little food and resources. After surviving all that his foster bailed out on him and left him again scrambling for safety. This sweet tiny boy just wants to feel safe and have a family to love. Pineapple is approx 3 years old. He is a male Yorkie and Chihuahua mix best guess. He weighs 6 Pounds. He was one of the skinniest ones and is still regaining weight back. He has a smaller eye on one side due to a birth defect. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. He is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. This guy had it really bad in the hoarding house. Being tiny and having an odd jaw shape he lost the battle for food more than he won. He is shy at first in a new place then he quickly decides people are the best things ever. He becomes a very clingy guy that is always looking for a lap to snuggle in. He really wants to be with you all the time. Pineapple really loves to be with you once he trusts you. He loves being carried around or just to sit in your lap. He’s got a big heart to match those big teeth. He has done really well with other respectful dogs. He may bark at them at first but it’s just fear until he sees he’s safe. He’s fostered with a Belgian Mal puppy and does great with him. He’s fostered with cats to and does fine but will growl when they come close if he’s eating. He has also done good with children so far. As with any dog he would need any children in the house to be respectful and not treat him like a toy. Pinapple is still working on his training but he’s really starting to catch on. He does well with crate training but can be vocal the first few days. After that he is just vocal when he needs to potty. He has done very well on car rides and does not get sick. He had clearly never been on a leash before and is terrified of it. He will learn with time and practice but is not there yet. He is not fully potty trained but he’s doing really well. He came from a place where they were trapped inside and had no options for going anywhere else. He is starting to learn about going outside to potty. He prefers you don’t look at him while he handles his business but he’s really getting the hang of it. Pineapple was in a situation where he had to fight over limited food and resources from the other dogs in the home. He is not terrible about food aggression toward other dogs but will growl if they approach his bowl. We suggest allowing him to eat in his kennel where he can take his time and not feel threatened or pressured. He has no issues at all sharing with people. He has a low to medium energy level so far. He loves to follow you around the house and wait for a chance to cuddle. He is just starting to play more now that he feels safer in his foster home and will chase a ball around some. We expect he may get a little more energetic once he fully decompresses. Overall this little oddball is super sweet and loving. He’s trying hard to be a good boy and overcome what he’s been through. If you can love him despite his crazy looks he’s ready to be you’re loyal snaggle toothed companion. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message us directly at VillageDogresource@gmail.com or visit our facebook page for more pics. Not good with dogs,
Story
There is nothing more fun than having a charming Rupert in your life.  This Yorkie boy is called Rup for a nick nane and he is also known as the master of the house. This Yorkie is 19 months old and weighs 12 pounds but he is big man on campus. And what a super lover he is while also being the super duper Bossman in the household. He would do best in a home without any other dogs since he has decided to be dog selective. Some of the dogs in his foster home he likes, and some of them he doesn’t.   He is destined to just be the Only Child in his future dog home. He’s been around cats and does fine but is the feline friends decide to run, he enjoys the chase.   So just be aware.  Rupert must claim your lap and he insists on being your co-pilot when you leave in the car.  He is an excellent rider.  When you leave and then come home later he is just so happy to jump and wiggle and always gives you a happy little greeting.  This happy greeting of twirling and dancing and happy smiles will make you leave your worries at the front door. He is fully vetted and microchipped.  If you haven't noticed, he has a beautiful soft coat that sparkles in the sunlight like finely spun silk threads.  If you are interested in our boy  Rupert,  19 months and 12 lbs, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 12, 2026, 9:03 pm
