Meet Harry & Sally – A Sweet Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Harry and Sally are a heart-melting father–daughter duo ready to spend their golden years side by side in a loving home. Harry, a gentle senior Maltese mix, and Sally, his equally sweet Yorkie/Maltese mix daughter, share an unbreakable bond and must be adopted together—they’ve been each other’s constant companions and truly thrive as a pair. These two have settled beautifully into their foster home and enjoy a calm, cozy routine. While they’ll occasionally engage in a little playful moment together, their favorite activity is simple: snuggling up on the couch and staying close to their people. They’re the definition of loyal companions and will happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. Harry and Sally are pee pad trained and continuing to make great progress with house training. At bedtime, they sleep in a crate and, after a brief moment of protest, settle in quietly for the night. They are slowly getting used to other dogs and would do best in a home with calm, respectful canine companions. They’re also perfectly fine with cats. A peaceful, low-key environment will help them feel most comfortable and secure. These sweet seniors have so much love left to give and are ready to fill a home with warmth, companionship, and gentle joy. If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted duo who will love you endlessly, Harry and Sally are waiting to meet you.   Adoption fee: $300 pair, includes first 2 DAPP, bordetella, sterilized, heartworm test, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip    If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
"Meet Muffin. This adorable little Yorkie girl was originally adopted from a shelter when she was around 6–7 months old. At the time, her owner was pregnant and later reached out for help caring for Muffin after the baby arrived. We came to know Muffin through that caregiver, Angelique, who ended up caring for her for nearly six months. During that time, Muffin lived with her young kids and other dogs, enjoyed daily walks, and became well established with her potty training. Muffin returned to her owner in January 2025, but Angelique stayed closely connected, hosting her for playdates and even a few overnight visits. Muffin’s owner has now made the decision to rehome her, and Angelique has stepped up to foster her once again. She reached out to our rescue to help find Muffin the loving forever home she deserves. Angelique shared this update: "Muffin is a fun, playful dog who is always ready for her next adventure. She loves playing in the yard, especially grabbing a toy and running off with it, and is always busy sniffing out new smells. She’s still learning her leash manners and does best on a short leash. At the start of a walk, she can be a bit erratic, but as she settles in, she does a much better job staying within arm’s length. She truly enjoys getting out and about and is great in the car, too. She’s likely not a great fit for a city environment, as she’s afraid of things like drains and tends to avoid them. She did well with potty training while with us, but consistency will be key as she settles back into a routine. Muffin is quick to learn, eager to please, and would do best in a home with another playful dog or with people who are excited to be her playmates. She’s an affectionate little girl who really thrives on time and connection with her people." This adorable little pup deserves more stability than she’s had and will truly blossom in a home with a flexible schedule and the consistency every dog needs. Apply today! Story
Meet Brooklyn!  This tiny Yorkie nugget came to us after being surrendered to a rural county shelter—something we’re unfortunately seeing more often as families face tough economic decisions. We’re so glad we had space to bring Brooklyn into rescue and help her find the loving forever home she deserves. Brooklyn has been settling into her foster home with Debbie, her teenage son, and their two dogs—and she’s doing great! She integrated very easily with the resident pups, showing no signs of dominance and getting along well with everyone. She would thrive in a home with another dog for companionship, though she could also do well as an only dog if her person is home often—Brooklyn loves being close to her humans and feels most secure when she’s not alone. She’s also cat-friendly and has shown no interest in chasing, just the occasional curious glance. Brooklyn is a fun mix of active and snuggly. She enjoys walks and keeps up with the bigger dogs despite her tiny legs! She can be playful and will engage in a little fetch, though she sometimes needs encouragement with toys. Around the house, she’s happiest curled up next to her person or in a cozy lap. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people and may need a little time to warm up. Initially, she feels unsure and can feel frightened, but once she feels safe, her sweet, cuddly personality really shines through. She’ll alert you when someone is at the door, but with reassurance, she warms up quickly and becomes comfortable with visitors. Brooklyn walks nicely on a leash and enjoys pack walks, typically following the lead of other dogs. She may bark briefly when passing other dogs, but is not reactive. She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night, sometimes even choosing to go into her crate on her own. Brooklyn is still working on potty training, but can hold it all night without accidents. She will do best with an adopter who has a flexible schedule to provide frequent potty breaks and can maintain a consistent routine. Brooklyn is looking for a loving home where she can continue to build confidence and enjoy the companionship she craves. With a little time and reassurance, she will reward her family with endless affection and loyalty. Coming to the DC metro on 4/18. Story
Wasabi — The Spicy Little Emperor 🌶️👑 If ever a dog lived up to his name, it’s this one. Wasabi is a 10-year-old, 11-pound Yorkie with just the right mix of fire and finesse. A former stray who strutted into the shelter and immediately made his opinions known, this pint-sized dynamo believes he’s earned the right to call the shots. He’s seeking a peaceful kingdom where he can reign as the one and only pet — ideally with a soft lap to preside over or a sunbeam to claim as his throne. Grooming sessions? He adores them. Sharing attention? Not so much. Moody? Occasionally. Charming? Absolutely. Fully house-trained and perfectly content to enjoy his own company, Wasabi is that rare little character who’s both independent and endearingly particular. After all, at his age, he knows exactly what he likes — and he’s not shy about letting you know! Wasabi is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $250 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
Meet PeeWee: Small Dog, Big Rules 🐾 At just 10 lbs, 4.5-year-old Yorkie mix PeeWee is living proof that dynamite comes in small packages… and occasionally explodes if you don’t respect personal space. Small, scrappy, and selective. I’m basically the bouncer at the club of my own affection, if you’re on the list, you get VIP cuddles. If you’re not? Keep your hands to yourself, Karen. Here’s the deal: PeeWee is adorable, but he’s not that random-friendly-pet-me-at-PetSmart kind of adorable. If you try to touch him without an invitation, he’s happy to give you a quick reminder that he did not consent. Once you’re in his trusted circle, though? Boom—you’re his ride-or-die. He’ll be your shadow, your lap warmer, your TV-watching buddy, and possibly your therapist if you pay him in treats. PeeWee has a very specific roommate policy: no other pets, no exceptions. He’s the leading man in his own sitcom, and there’s no room for sidekicks stealing the spotlight. If you’re looking for a pint-sized companion with a huge personality, a selective guest list, and a serious commitment to his people, PeeWee is ready to sign the adoption papers, once he decides you’re worthy.
