Born to hardworking livestock guardian parents, they have inherited the intelligence, loyalty and gentle nature that make both breeds so beloved. They are being raised with plenty of love and socialization and are growing into confident, curious and affectionate youngsters.

Her eyes and build look somewhat Akbash, and her curly coat looks like possibly Kuvasz, or maybe it's produced from a combination of Akbash and Komondor. She is a wonderful livestock guardian. She’s not well socialized with people, but she’s great with our goats, good with other dogs, and hasn’t bothered our barn cats. She is shy but will take a treat from me, so that's an excellent way to start winning her trust. She avoids my touch, but when I manage to get my hands on her, she seems to enjoy have her ears and butt scratched. She was never taught to wear a collar or walk on a leash, so we haven’t yet been able to get her to our chicken yard to test her with chickens. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Young Bennie was picked up as a stray in our rural area, so we don't know anything about his past. He came into rescue with some skin issues which are being treated. At the moment, we're not sure whether he has seasonal allergies, or whether his itchiness was all related to Demodectic mange, which is very common in puppies and young dogs. What we DO know is that Bennie is sweet as can be! In his foster home, he loves having plenty of room for running his zoomies, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He enjoys sleeping on a big comfy dog bed, and he is a little bit of a hoarder with his stuffed animal toys. Bennie has been neutered and vaccinated, and is ready to find his happily ever after story. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emma is one of 6 puppies born to Akbash mom Victoria on a ranch in Central Texas, in the middle of the pasture, surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle. There are multiple working livestock guardian dogs on the ranch, so dad to the puppies is likely an Akbash or Great Pyrenees. Since coming to Bluebonnet, Emma and her siblings have had 3 rounds of vaccinations, along with deworming and monthly preventives. Texas law requires us to spay/neuter all puppies within a certain timeframe, but we can adopt them out on a provisional adoption agreement that is finalized only after the pup has been sterilized. These puppies can be adopted as a family pet/companion, or as future livestock guardians. Either way, they will need appropriate training and supervision, whether that's crate-training and potty-training, or getting them through the stages that even the best LGD puppies go through when they think livestock are playmates. These puppies have NOT been exposed to chickens -- only to goats and cattle. They have had some exposure to our barn cats, but would need proper introductions and supervision in order to live with house cats. In the summer of 2025, we rescued a group of puppies from a ranch in Central Texas where there were more than 60 dogs needing help. An elderly rancher had 5 livestock guardian dogs protecting his Boer goats, and he never got any of them sterilized, so the natural result was breeding. It only takes a few generations for the population to EXPLODE. This group of pups may represent two different litters -- we're not sure, but there appear to be two different age groups. We gave them all names from the Toy Story movies. Jessie is a calm, shy girl who loves playing in the water, playing with toys, playing with other dogs, and shredding old magazines. She is learning to have good manners living inside the house, and often retreats inside a crate to play quietly on her own. We have crates throughout our home, and the crate doors are open so dogs can come and go freely. It's a good way to get them conditioned to thinking the crate is a safe space, so if we need to close the crate door, they don't panic. Other pups from the same ranch have grown up to be 100+ lbs, so it's entirely possible that Jessie will be equally large once she's fully grown. Arctic Cove is an 8 year old Great Pyrenees that was born 4/28/2028. He has been part of my family since he was 10 weeks old. He loves people and eats homemade meals most times. He's a beautiful and gentle dog. About a month ago, he sustained a complete fracture to the left front leg sometimes in the middle of the night in my backyard while I was at work. The cameras footages did not show any intruders. No surgery was done, so he now walks with a limp. I am looking someone with patience and love to adopt him and kept indoors. He eats twice a day and snack at night or in between meals.
