Story
Meet Peyton – A Gentle Soul with So Much Love to Give Located in the DFW Area | Age: 2 Years | Female Peyton’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her heart is still wide open. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, this sweet girl is now safe and thriving in her foster home thanks to TGPR. Peyton is the definition of a love bug—quiet, gentle, and affectionate. She’s learning to trust and build confidence every day and is already showing how much love she has to offer. She gets along beautifully with her foster brother, an extra-large alpha male dog, and is respectful and submissive in all the right ways. She’s also house-trained, crate-comfortable (she even naps there with the door open!), and travels well in the car. Peyton quickly became a staff favorite at both the shelter and the vet’s office, and it’s easy to see why! Her favorite things? Ear rubs, being brushed, and gazing lovingly into your eyes like you’re her whole world. Peyton is looking for a kind, patient family to help her continue her journey to healing and happiness. Could that be you? Apply to meet her at TGPR.org

Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! If interested in Charlie, please fill out our foster or adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tyana is one of several dogs who were found on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We can only speculate, but we believe that the property owners moved away and left the dogs to fend for themselves.  Tyana's mom Lydia is VERY friendly, but her pups (two generations) are completely unsocialized, so we're guessing they may have been born after the people moved. It's quite possible that the Animal Control Officers who hauled away Tyana and her family were the first humans that she ever had any close contact with. At Windsong Ranch, Tyana is very slowly learning to trust me, but she is still extremely skittish of people in general. Getting her to walk on a leash in order to go to the vet's office is a real challenge, but we've managed it, and once at the vet's office, Tyana has remained calm and quiet. She seems content to stay inside the house, but seems happier and less anxious when she is outside. Tyana gets along well with other dogs and is very playful with them. We believe she would do best in a home with a confident male dog, who can help her see that humans are trustworthy. Due to her skittish nature, she MUST go to a home with secure (visible) fencing. If you are ready to make the commitment to devote yourself to earning Tyana's trust, please complete the application on our website. NOTE: I really struggle to get decent photos of Tyana -- she almost always looks very anxious, even when she's happy -- it's like she's in witness protection and thinks that having her photo taken puts her life at risk. In some of these photos, she is hanging out with other unsocialized or feral dogs, and moments before I pulled out my phone, they were usually happy and smiling, but as soon as I point the camera at them, most of them look like I might be about to kill them. Silly dogs. Also, in some photos, she has what looks like an injury diagonal across her face. Nope, that's just a berry stain. Tyana likes to dig, and it shows in some of these photos. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Young Bennie was picked up as a stray in our rural area, so we don't know anything about his past. He came into rescue with some skin issues which are being treated. At the moment, we're not sure whether he has seasonal allergies, or whether his itchiness was all related to Demodectic mange, which is very common in puppies and young dogs. What we DO know is that Bennie is sweet as can be! In his foster home, he loves having plenty of room for running his zoomies, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He enjoys sleeping on a big comfy dog bed, and he is a little bit of a hoarder with his stuffed animal toys. Bennie has been neutered and vaccinated, and is ready to find his happily ever after story. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. In late 2022, a family of 7 Akbash dogs were found as strays and trapped in Emory, Texas - 2 adults and 5 pups. Gretl is one of the pups from this litter. Gretl is young, big, and lean. Gretl is not as outgoing with people as her mom Maria is, but she has made much more progress in her socialization than her sisters have made. Gretl had an injury to her front right paw -- we're not sure if she was bitten by a spider or snake? Whatever it was, caused her whole paw to swell up terribly and it was definitely infected. We couldn't find a wound track or a foreign body, so we felt like it must have been a bite of some kind. Gretl made many visits to the vet for treatment, and all those trips were good for her socialization and leash-walking skills. Gretl gets along well with other dogs, and is house-trained and crate-trained, though we haven't kept her in a crate in several months because it hasn't been necessary. Gretl enjoys attention from her people, but she doesn't seek it out -- that might come with time. Momma Maria and the 3 sisters Gretl, Liesl, and Brigitta will be adopted out as companion animals and not livestock guardians. If Gretl sounds like the perfect dog for you, please submit your application today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 12:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emma is one of 6 puppies born to Akbash mom Victoria on a ranch in Central Texas, in the middle of the pasture, surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle. There are multiple working livestock guardian dogs on the ranch, so dad to the puppies is likely an Akbash or Great Pyrenees. Since coming to Bluebonnet, Emma and her siblings have had 3 rounds of vaccinations, along with deworming and monthly preventives. Texas law requires us to spay/neuter all puppies within a certain timeframe, but we can adopt them out on a provisional adoption agreement that is finalized only after the pup has been sterilized. These puppies can be adopted as a family pet/companion, or as future livestock guardians. Either way, they will need appropriate training and supervision, whether that's crate-training and potty-training, or getting them through the stages that even the best LGD puppies go through when they think livestock are playmates. These puppies have NOT been exposed to chickens -- only to goats and cattle. They have had some exposure to our barn cats, but would need proper introductions and supervision in order to live with house cats. Story
Meet Chance – The Gentle Giant with a Heart Full of Hope Chance is a 11-month-old Anatolian Shepherd/pyrenees mix who embodies everything we love about the breed—loyal, gentle, calm, and deeply loving. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, wonderful with children, and even gets along beautifully with cats and livestock. With his easygoing temperament, Chance is the kind of dog who brings a quiet strength and steady presence to any home. He enjoys affection and will happily accept your love, but he’s also content doing his own thing, making him the perfect balance of independence and companionship. Chance didn’t have the easiest start in life. He was found as a tiny, underweight puppy—his body covered in parasites and his skin painfully inflamed from mites. But with proper care, patience, and love, he healed quickly and has blossomed into the beautiful, resilient boy he is today. Now, Chance is ready for the one thing he’s never had: a forever family who will love and protect him the way he deserves. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Phoebe!  She is a sweet, submissive, dog-friendly, freckled badger-faced, female Great Pyrenees rescued from a local shelter. Phoebe is almost 4 yrs old and weighs 80 pounds.  Phoebe is a little shy when new people approach her, but she will walk right up to you on her own for pets and loving. Phoebe is good with dogs. She enjoys playing with larger dogs and leaves little dogs alone.  She is house trained and is good on a leash, but has a tendency to pull.  She rides well in a car and loves to look out the window.   Phoebe is very afraid of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, so she needs a little nook to hide in when she feels compelled. She is also not a fan of grooming. However she does love keeping squirrels and birds out of her yard. Phoebe is a very loving girl just waiting for her forever home. Currently she is in a foster home North of Dallas, Texas. Any out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation. Phoebe is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250. Become an approved adopter with SPIN Rescue and we can put you in touch with her foster to arrange a meet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Barry! He is a gentle, goofy, laidback, 1yr old, 90lb male Great Pyrenees mix. Barry has a lot more of a white Lab build and coat, but still total Pyrenees couch potato energy, even as a puppy! His foster family affectionately calls him 'Butter Bear' because he is so sweet and squishy. He is sweet with people. He can be a little bashful, but will give you gentle kisses and snuggles. He did great at our recent adoption event meeting lots of little kids and adults, he didn't jump up on anyone and ended up laying down calmly.  Barry is great with dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with the large dogs in his foster home. He hasn't been tested with cats or small dogs, but his foster family thinks he would do well with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Barry is very go with the flow. He is house trained. He walks beautifully on the leash, keeping a perfect strolling pace! He gets a little nervous during car rides and will drool a lot.  He has been with his foster family since he was a young puppy found on the streets, so he will need his forever family to be patient with him while he settles in. Barry is currently in a foster home in DFW area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation - most make the drive themselves. Barry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.  Apply to meet and adopt Barry at www.spinrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2025, 6:54 pm
