Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Young Bennie was picked up as a stray in our rural area, so we don't know anything about his past. He came into rescue with some skin issues which are being treated. At the moment, we're not sure whether he has seasonal allergies, or whether his itchiness was all related to Demodectic mange, which is very common in puppies and young dogs. What we DO know is that Bennie is sweet as can be! In his foster home, he loves having plenty of room for running his zoomies, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He enjoys sleeping on a big comfy dog bed, and he is a little bit of a hoarder with his stuffed animal toys. Bennie has been neutered and vaccinated, and is ready to find his happily ever after story. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Curly Sue came to us from Oklahoma. Her eyes and build look somewhat Akbash, and her curly coat looks like possibly Kuvasz, or maybe it's produced from a combination of Akbash and Komondor. She is a wonderful livestock guardian. She’s not well socialized with people, but she’s great with our goats, good with other dogs, and hasn’t bothered our barn cats. She is shy but will take a treat from me, so that's an excellent way to start winning her trust. She avoids my touch, but when I manage to get my hands on her, she seems to enjoy have her ears and butt scratched. She was never taught to wear a collar or walk on a leash, so we haven’t yet been able to get her to our chicken yard to test her with chickens. If you need an LGD for goats and don’t have chickens, or keep them in their own coop and yard like we do, then Curly Sue might be the right dog for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 10:47 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. In late 2022, a family of 7 Akbash dogs were found as strays and trapped in Emory, Texas - 2 adults and 5 pups. Gretl is one of the pups from this litter. Gretl is young, big, and lean. Gretl is not as outgoing with people as her mom Maria is, but she has made much more progress in her socialization than her sisters have made. Gretl had an injury to her front right paw -- we're not sure if she was bitten by a spider or snake? Whatever it was, caused her whole paw to swell up terribly and it was definitely infected. We couldn't find a wound track or a foreign body, so we felt like it must have been a bite of some kind. Gretl made many visits to the vet for treatment, and all those trips were good for her socialization and leash-walking skills. Gretl gets along well with other dogs, and is house-trained and crate-trained, though we haven't kept her in a crate in several months because it hasn't been necessary. Gretl enjoys attention from her people, but she doesn't seek it out -- that might come with time. Momma Maria and the 3 sisters Gretl, Liesl, and Brigitta will be adopted out as companion animals and not livestock guardians. If Gretl sounds like the perfect dog for you, please submit your application today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 7:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emma is one of 6 puppies born to Akbash mom Victoria on a ranch in Central Texas, in the middle of the pasture, surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle. There are multiple working livestock guardian dogs on the ranch, so dad to the puppies is likely an Akbash or Great Pyrenees. Since coming to Bluebonnet, Emma and her siblings have had 3 rounds of vaccinations, along with deworming and monthly preventives. Texas law requires us to spay/neuter all puppies within a certain timeframe, but we can adopt them out on a provisional adoption agreement that is finalized only after the pup has been sterilized. These puppies can be adopted as a family pet/companion, or as future livestock guardians. Either way, they will need appropriate training and supervision, whether that's crate-training and potty-training, or getting them through the stages that even the best LGD puppies go through when they think livestock are playmates. These puppies have NOT been exposed to chickens -- only to goats and cattle. They have had some exposure to our barn cats, but would need proper introductions and supervision in order to live with house cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. In the summer of 2025, we rescued a group of puppies from a ranch in Central Texas where there were more than 60 dogs needing help. An elderly rancher had 5 livestock guardian dogs protecting his Boer goats, and he never got any of them sterilized, so the natural result was breeding. It only takes a few generations for the population to EXPLODE. This group of pups may represent two different litters -- we're not sure, but there appear to be two different age groups. We gave them all names from the Toy Story movies. Jessie is a calm, shy girl who loves playing in the water, playing with toys, playing with other dogs, and shredding old magazines. She is learning to have good manners living inside the house, and often retreats inside a crate to play quietly on her own. We have crates throughout our home, and the crate doors are open so dogs can come and go freely. It's a good way to get them conditioned to thinking the crate is a safe space, so if we need to close the crate door, they don't panic. Other pups from the same ranch have grown up to be 100+ lbs, so it's entirely possible that Jessie will be equally large once she's fully grown. If you need a giant puppy in your life, please complete the application on our website. It's best done on a PC; it's accessible by phone and tablet, but some users report trouble getting past the final CAPTCHA to submit the app. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 7:05 pm

Story
Meet Mili, a sweet and loving Great Pyrenees with the gentlest soul. Rescued from a small outdoor cage, she's somehow still the most joyful, affectionate girl you'll ever meet. She's fully up to date on vaccines (June 2026), on yearly flea and tick prevention, and just had a minor ear cyst removed - stitches healed beautifully. She also received a full dental cleaning and is in great health. Mili is potty trained and wonderful around small children and other pets. She'll gaze into your soul one moment and make you laugh the next - equal parts soulful and silly. Her dream? A loving family with endless belly scratches and the occasional puppuccino. Due to her past, Mili does best as an indoor dog. Being left outside is hard for her, and that's completely understandable. She deserves a warm, safe home where she's cherished every single day! I am willing to drive Mili out of state to ensure she finds a good new home!

Story
Meet Milo, a big, sweet, and deeply loyal boy who is in need of a home, something he may have never fully known. Rescued from a small outdoor cage in the Texas heat. He has been through a lot — but his heart is still full.Milo is fully up to date on vaccines (June 2026), on yearly flea and tick prevention, and has been neutered. He is potty trained and food motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training.Due to limited socialization, Milo does best with a confident, patient handler on walks. He's not difficult — he simply never had someone show him the world safely. With the right guidance, he will thrive. What he lacks in socialization, he more than makes up for in heart. Milo is protective, affectionate, and devoted to the people he loves. He needs someone who sees his potential and is willing to grow with him — because the love this big boy has to offer is bigger than he is. I am willing to drive Milo out of state to ensure he finds a good new home!

Max is approximately 1-year-old Great Pyrenees Pointer Mixes who has come such a long way. Temporary foster situation turned into something much bigger, as his owner has abandoned him. Max is affectionate, and full of personality. He loves his people deeply… and yes, he will absolutely take over your bed if you let him.✔️ Clean bill of health ✔️ Up to date on all vaccinations ✔️ Recent fecal test – clear, no parasites ✔️ Gained ~25 pounds each and thriving ✔️ Approximately 80 lbs each He walks well on leash in calm settings, but like many young, large dogs, he will pull if another dog is barking at him—so he’ll need continued training and consistency. He will need:• A home with a large, secure yard (non-negotiable) • An active family or someone experienced with large breeds • Ongoing structure and guidance to keep them progressing
