Meet Peyton – A Gentle Soul with So Much Love to Give Located in the DFW Area | Age: 2 Years | Female Peyton’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her heart is still wide open. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, this sweet girl is now safe and thriving in her foster home thanks to TGPR. Peyton is the definition of a love bug—quiet, gentle, and affectionate. She’s learning to trust and build confidence every day and is already showing how much love she has to offer. She gets along beautifully with her foster brother, an extra-large alpha male dog, and is respectful and submissive in all the right ways. She’s also house-trained, crate-comfortable (she even naps there with the door open!), and travels well in the car. Peyton quickly became a staff favorite at both the shelter and the vet’s office, and it’s easy to see why! Her favorite things? Ear rubs, being brushed, and gazing lovingly into your eyes like you’re her whole world. Peyton is looking for a kind, patient family to help her continue her journey to healing and happiness. Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! Her early life was tough—she lived outdoors with another dog, and when her companion tragically passed from heatstroke, her owners realized they couldn’t give her the life she deserved. They surrendered her to safety, and now she’s learning, day by day, what it means to be loved, protected, and cared for. Because of her rough beginning, Yaira is still figuring out who she can trust. She’s working through some resource guarding and learning that people and their intentions can be safe and gentle. But underneath that caution is a dog who wants to bond. She’s slowly blooming—leaning into affection, seeking comfort, and letting her true personality show a little more every week. Yaira would do best in a calm, predictable home where she can relax into a steady routine and know exactly what to expect. She does well with other dogs who respect her space, but she would also thrive as the queen bee—your one and only fluffy monarch. With patience, kindness, and structure, she will reward her person with loyalty, quiet companionship, and the soft, sweet love that Great Pyrenees are known for. Story
Callan is a Great Pyrenees mix with a soft heart and soulful eyes. He’s a bit of a nervous Nelly at first, but once he warms up, he’s affectionate, loyal, and loves to be near his people. This sweet boy has been through a lot — he came to us with an old cruciate ligament (CL) injury, but it’s fully healed now, and he’s getting around beautifully. He does best in a calm, reassuring home where he can build confidence at his own pace. With patience, kindness, and a little routine, Callan will reward you with trust, devotion, and that signature Pyr charm. His ideal home will also have no (or older) children and a couple of other playful doggos, and people who understand that new situations can be a little intimidating for him and give him the support he needs to experience the GOOD that life has to offer!

Mallie came to us from the shelter, narrowly escaping euthanasia simply because she was scared. Now that she is out and in her foster home, she is learning what the good life is like. Mallie loves playing with her 7 foster dog siblings (of every size), and is learning that humans can be pretty great! She likes to sit under her fosters desk while she works and enjoys walking the yard with the crew in the evenings. Mallie would do well in any home so long as they are willing to help build her confidence and show her that the world is not a scary place.
