Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! Meet Blanche! ❤️🐾 Oh, sweet Blanche. If only this precious girl could tell us her story. 💔 Blanche is an estimated 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who was recently found alone in the woods near Crockett, TX. A kind family had been spotting her on their game camera at their property, and when they went looking for her, they found this sweet girl lying in the woods, all by herself. We have no idea how long Blanche had been out there, what she's been through, or how she ended up alone in the first place. But one thing is certain — this girl deserves a much brighter chapter in her life. ❤️ Blanche is a little timid and shy at first, but underneath that uncertainty is an incredibly sweet, gentle soul who seems so willing to trust. Despite whatever her past may hold, she has shown nothing but kindness toward the people helping her. She's also been completely unbothered by the other dogs in her foster home! One of the first things you'll notice about Blanche is her adorable little tongue, which hangs out to one side of her mouth. While it certainly gives her a unique and endearing look, we're concerned that it may be the result of an old injury to her jaw. We'll be having her evaluated to better understand what's going on and whether she needs any medical treatment. For now, Blanche is safe, loved, and settling into a foster home with the very family who found her. No more sleeping alone in the woods. No more wondering where her next meal will come from. Just soft places to rest, gentle hands, and the chance to finally feel secure. There's something incredibly special about this sweet girl. Maybe it's her gentle spirit, her willingness to trust despite her circumstances, or that precious little face with her tongue peeking out. Whatever it is, Blanche has already stolen our hearts. ❤️ Her past may be a mystery, but we're determined to make sure her future is filled with all the love and happiness she deserves. Meet Higgins — A True Gentle Giant At just 5 years old and approximately 91 pounds, Higgins is a big, beautiful boy with an even bigger heart. Despite everything he has endured, he remains calm, easygoing, and incredibly gentle. He looks to people for safety, kindness, and love—and he absolutely melts when he receives affection. Higgins was found wandering the streets and sleeping beneath trailers and cars after being abandoned. He was dangerously thin, covered in scars, and suffering from severe flea dermatitis, hair loss, a skin infection, an ear infection, and injuries around his eyes. Thankfully, after just one week of medication and care, Higgins is already looking so much better! At 91 pounds, he is still extremely underweight and has plenty of weight to gain, but he is well on his way to becoming the healthy, handsome boy he was always meant to be. Through it all, Higgins has remained an absolute gentleman. Higgins gets along wonderfully with everyone and everything he meets. He is friendly, gentle, and easygoing with people and other dogs. He is quiet, settles beautifully. He rarely barks, if at all, and his favorite thing seems to be being gently petted. Baths are not his favorite activity, but with patience, encouragement, and treats, he cooperates. Higgins is a giant boy who has clearly been let down by people, yet he continues to trust them. He deserves a safe home, compassionate care, and the chance to experience the love and comfort he should have had all along. This sweet giant is ready to find a loving home where he can continue gaining weight, receiving plenty of affection, and learning what it means to be truly safe. In return, Higgins promises to be a loyal, loving companion and the gentlest presence you could ever hope to have by your side. Higgins is ready for the next chapter of his life!

Sweet little Piper is about 4 months old, and she’s a girl who just needs a little time to realize that people can be pretty great. ❤️ Piper is very shy with people, but put another dog near her and you’ll see a completely different puppy! 🥹🐶 She absolutely LOVES other dogs and lights up the moment they come around. You can see her confidence grow when she has a furry friend by her side. We’ve been working on her people skills since she came into our care, and she has already come such a long way in a short amount of time. She’s still learning that she’s safe, loved, and doesn’t have to be afraid. And underneath that shy exterior is a silly, playful girl who clearly wants to PLAY! 🎾🐾 We’re excited to watch her continue to come out of her shell and show us more of that fun personality. Piper would do best with a patient family who understands that trust takes time and, ideally, another confident, friendly dog to help show her the ropes. ❤️ She may not be the puppy who runs straight into your arms on day one—but we have a feeling that when Piper finally chooses you, it’s going to be something pretty special. 🥹❤️
