Story
Half Great Pyrenees and half Akbash, Mia is the best of two awesome livestock guardian breeds. Born to hardworking livestock guardian parents, they have inherited the intelligence, loyalty and gentle nature that make both breeds so beloved. While their parents take their jobs seriously, these puppies are looking for something just a tad different - a family of their own. They are being raised with plenty of love and socialization and are growing into confident, curious and affectionate youngsters.

Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! If interested in Charlie, please fill out our foster or adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Curly Sue came to us from Oklahoma. Her eyes and build look somewhat Akbash, and her curly coat looks like possibly Kuvasz, or maybe it's produced from a combination of Akbash and Komondor. She is a wonderful livestock guardian. She’s not well socialized with people, but she’s great with our goats, good with other dogs, and hasn’t bothered our barn cats. She is shy but will take a treat from me, so that's an excellent way to start winning her trust. She avoids my touch, but when I manage to get my hands on her, she seems to enjoy have her ears and butt scratched. She was never taught to wear a collar or walk on a leash, so we haven’t yet been able to get her to our chicken yard to test her with chickens. If you need an LGD for goats and don’t have chickens, or keep them in their own coop and yard like we do, then Curly Sue might be the right dog for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 10:47 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Young Bennie was picked up as a stray in our rural area, so we don't know anything about his past. He came into rescue with some skin issues which are being treated. At the moment, we're not sure whether he has seasonal allergies, or whether his itchiness was all related to Demodectic mange, which is very common in puppies and young dogs. What we DO know is that Bennie is sweet as can be! In his foster home, he loves having plenty of room for running his zoomies, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He enjoys sleeping on a big comfy dog bed, and he is a little bit of a hoarder with his stuffed animal toys. Bennie has been neutered and vaccinated, and is ready to find his happily ever after story. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Robert the Bruce comes from a litter of puppies who were born on a ranch in Central Texas. They were exposed to Boer goats and longhorn cattle from the very beginning. And LOTS of dogs -- the ranch started with a handful of livestock guardian dogs (LGDs), and didn't spay/neuter any of them, so before you know it, he had more than 60 dogs and puppies, all growing up completely feral. Since March 2024, we've been trapping and removing as many as we can, and as of June 2025, we have removed 50 dogs and puppies from this one ranch. More remain, so this is an ongoing project and we won't rest until every dog has been spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Robert the Bruce and his siblings were completely feral when they were trapped, and in the beginning, they would just SCREAM when we tried to handle them. Over time, they have learned that humans might not be the worst creatures that ever existed. At Bluebonnet's home base, he has lived in our barn with exposure to goats and barn cats, and of course more livestock guardian dogs. We don't know which of the adult LGDs on the ranch are his parents, but most of the adults that we have trapped, have weighed at least 90 lbs. Speaking of adults -- the rancher started with Akbash, Anatolian, and Great Pyrenees. Most of the dogs and puppies that we have seen look like full Akbash, Akbash/Anatolian mix or Akbash/Great Pyrenees mix. All of the puppies in this litter are solid white and look like full Akbash pups, but we can't say that with certainty since we don't know which adults are their parents. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emma is one of 6 puppies born to Akbash mom Victoria on a ranch in Central Texas, in the middle of the pasture, surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle. There are multiple working livestock guardian dogs on the ranch, so dad to the puppies is likely an Akbash or Great Pyrenees. Since coming to Bluebonnet, Emma and her siblings have had 3 rounds of vaccinations, along with deworming and monthly preventives. Texas law requires us to spay/neuter all puppies within a certain timeframe, but we can adopt them out on a provisional adoption agreement that is finalized only after the pup has been sterilized. These puppies can be adopted as a family pet/companion, or as future livestock guardians. Either way, they will need appropriate training and supervision, whether that's crate-training and potty-training, or getting them through the stages that even the best LGD puppies go through when they think livestock are playmates. These puppies have NOT been exposed to chickens -- only to goats and cattle. They have had some exposure to our barn cats, but would need proper introductions and supervision in order to live with house cats.
