Meet Princess Peach – Your Ride-or-Die Adventure BFF Looking for a loyal hiking buddy who also doubles as a professional snuggler? Peachy is your girl. She’s the perfect mix of outdoorsy and affectionate, with just a dash of “I’ll fight a bear for you” energy. Peachy would love to be your one and only—like, literally. While she can hang with other dogs and kinda-sorta gets cats, she secretly dreams of having her humans all to herself. Solo-pet life? Yes, please. She’s house-trained, kennel-trained, leash-trained, and trained in the ancient art of giving the best kisses. She’ll happily hit the trails with you, chill by the campfire, or binge-watch nature documentaries from the couch (while gently hogging the blanket). Bonus: Peachy is a total snow queen who also handles Texas heat like a champ. She’s built for all seasons, all snuggles, and all adventures. So if you’re a single gal, guy, or a cool couple ready for your four-legged soulmate apply at TGPR.org and give Peachy the forever home she deserves!

Story
Meet Peyton – A Gentle Soul with So Much Love to Give Located in the DFW Area | Age: 2 Years | Female Peyton’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her heart is still wide open. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, this sweet girl is now safe and thriving in her foster home thanks to TGPR. Peyton is the definition of a love bug—quiet, gentle, and affectionate. She’s learning to trust and build confidence every day and is already showing how much love she has to offer. She gets along beautifully with her foster brother, an extra-large alpha male dog, and is respectful and submissive in all the right ways. She’s also house-trained, crate-comfortable (she even naps there with the door open!), and travels well in the car. Peyton quickly became a staff favorite at both the shelter and the vet’s office, and it’s easy to see why! Her favorite things? Ear rubs, being brushed, and gazing lovingly into your eyes like you’re her whole world. Peyton is looking for a kind, patient family to help her continue her journey to healing and happiness. Could that be you? Apply to meet her at TGPR.org

Story
Kevin is a happy, outgoing, and playful boy who loves attention as much as he loves meal times and treats. He lives with dogs of all sizes and ages and gets along with everyone, but he is not fond of cats. Unlike some members of his breed, Kevin does not require a job other than loving his family and friends; he enjoys being a house dog when he is not outside playing with his friends or spending time with his humans. (or chasing the squirrels, which of course)He loves to give hugs, so he will jump up on someone his size if he gets a chance to provide one, but he is very gentle and is learning only to do this if invited. He loves going for walks, and if you happen to drop his leash while walking, he is happy to pick it up and carry it for you; he will often help you hold it as well. He would be an excellent go-everywhere kind of guy, as he enjoys making friends and going for rides.Kevin is house- and crate-trained, but he is only crated in his foster home when his human is not there. If you do not notice when he wants to go outside, he will tell you. He will counter surf if he thinks he can smell some food up there, but otherwise, he has excellent house manners.Kevin is fully vetted - current on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick andheartworm prevention.

Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! If interested in Charlie, please fill out our foster or adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tyana is one of several dogs who were found on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We can only speculate, but we believe that the property owners moved away and left the dogs to fend for themselves.  Tyana's mom Lydia is VERY friendly, but her pups (two generations) are completely unsocialized, so we're guessing they may have been born after the people moved. It's quite possible that the Animal Control Officers who hauled away Tyana and her family were the first humans that she ever had any close contact with. At Windsong Ranch, Tyana is very slowly learning to trust me, but she is still extremely skittish of people in general. Getting her to walk on a leash in order to go to the vet's office is a real challenge, but we've managed it, and once at the vet's office, Tyana has remained calm and quiet. She seems content to stay inside the house, but seems happier and less anxious when she is outside. Tyana gets along well with other dogs and is very playful with them. We believe she would do best in a home with a confident male dog, who can help her see that humans are trustworthy. Due to her skittish nature, she MUST go to a home with secure (visible) fencing. If you are ready to make the commitment to devote yourself to earning Tyana's trust, please complete the application on our website. NOTE: I really struggle to get decent photos of Tyana -- she almost always looks very anxious, even when she's happy -- it's like she's in witness protection and thinks that having her photo taken puts her life at risk. In some of these photos, she is hanging out with other unsocialized or feral dogs, and moments before I pulled out my phone, they were usually happy and smiling, but as soon as I point the camera at them, most of them look like I might be about to kill them. Silly dogs. Also, in some photos, she has what looks like an injury diagonal across her face. Nope, that's just a berry stain. Tyana likes to dig, and it shows in some of these photos. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Young Bennie was picked up as a stray in our rural area, so we don't know anything about his past. He came into rescue with some skin issues which are being treated. At the moment, we're not sure whether he has seasonal allergies, or whether his itchiness was all related to Demodectic mange, which is very common in puppies and young dogs. What we DO know is that Bennie is sweet as can be! In his foster home, he loves having plenty of room for running his zoomies, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He enjoys sleeping on a big comfy dog bed, and he is a little bit of a hoarder with his stuffed animal toys. Bennie has been neutered and vaccinated, and is ready to find his happily ever after story. Apply here!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 12:12 pm

Story
Luna is currently in a foster home! This is what the foster has to say about this sweet girl: She has been the perfect house guest! Luna is a confident and laid-back girl. She's 100% potty trained and crate trained. She has access to a dog door and absolutely loves lying in the backyard watching the squirrels play in the trees. She loves walks and is great in public spaces! Previous notes say she's great with kids, too! She does show a prey drive when we are out on walks, but in the yard, she doesn't seem to mind the squirrels. She loves bones and stuffed toys, and she loves to nap, and she sleeps through the night (I often have to wake her up in the morning!). Call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more and set up an appointment to meet sweet Luna!September 11, 2025, 3:33 pm

Charity from the NTXGD (North Texas Giving Day) litter is ready to find her forever home.  Her mom and siblings were dumped along a busy road in South Dallas.  Fortunately people from a near by Stable found them.  After posting for help and a few fosters opening up, they are now safely at DSDA. Charity is a sweetheart.  an and one chill pup. She looooved her foster mom's friend’s kids and lapped up all the attention and pets. VERY treat motivated. She already know how to sit pretty and comes running when she hears the treat  bag out.  Billy, her foster fur brother,  was so excited to meet her and now they are best buds!
